The project will discuss how the concept of God can be reinterpreted when engaged with a kenotic way of thinking. The purpose of this study is to discover how the metaphysics of Alfred North Whitehead (1861-1947), which gets further noticed by modern philosophers of life, is connected with kenotic thinking process. The paper will also analyze how the knowledge of life and nature in the 21st century and the theology of nature based on it are related to the thought of kenosis that emphasizes God's self-emptying. By attempting a new connection between the kenosis of God and the creation of nature, the study will eventually explore the possibility of a new discourse that illuminates the reality of life more deeply.","PeriodicalId":409727,"journal":{"name":"Research Institute for Life and Culture Sogang University","volume":"5 11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134086358","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this study, quantitative and qualitative data were used. For quantitative data, a sample of 506 care workers was extracted from long-term-care facilities in Incheon, and for qualitative data, interviews with 14 care workers were used. This study used quantitative data to examine whether there are differences in social recognition satisfaction, Perception of Professionalism, and Turnover Intention among caregivers according to the presence or absence of human rights violations. For this purpose, the differences between groups were analyzed by using cross-analysis and t-test. In addition, We also used interview data to cover more in-depth stories that could not be explored in quantitative analysis results.As a result of the study, the care worker’s experience of human rights violations was associated with a low perception of professionalism and job satisfaction. Also, it was positively associated with turnover intention. In addition, it seems that the human rights violations of care workers are caused by a combination of low social recognition, service target’s functional problems, and non-fulfillment of their care needs. These findings suggest that it is necessary to prevent the workers from violence and make a coping method according to the problem situation. Additionally, it is required to offer job training to acquire high-quality nursing skills, as well as education for target subjects and their families.","PeriodicalId":409727,"journal":{"name":"Research Institute for Life and Culture Sogang University","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124492437","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

By paying attention to the moderating effect of discrimination that controls the impact of cultural adaptation on the depression of migrants, the study aims to overcome the limitations of previous studies that portray migrants' depression issues as migrants’ individual issues and responsibilities of cultural adaptation. The study also emphasizes the characteristics of migrants in Korea who migrate on an individual basis, not on a family basis, by dividing discrimination into private discrimination between families and social discrimination by the public. The study analyzed the 2018 raw data from the National Multicultural Family Survey and the data of 14,899 migrants with spouses. Analysis shows that discrimination had a significant effect on the depression of migrants and that the influence of private discrimination was greater than that of social discrimination. In addition, both private and social discrimination were found to control the effect of cultural adaptation on depression, and cultural adaptation had a significant effect on depression only in groups with high levels of discrimination in both private and social discrimination.","PeriodicalId":409727,"journal":{"name":"Research Institute for Life and Culture Sogang University","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130535614","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It analyzed three cases of human rights violations, settled between 2019 and 2021, of those employed at social welfare facilities of human rights organizations in Seoul and Gyeonggi-do Province from a restorative justice perspective. According to analysis findings, the remedy system of human rights organizations at local governments was implemented based on the participation from victims, perpetrators, and the community. While the system was useful for assisting victims to recover from damages and providing corrective recommendations to perpetrators, there were issues with how it interpreted human rights violations as merely infringements on the freedom of employees, and the actual effectiveness of corrective recommendations issued to perpetrators. With respect to the findings, the following improvements may be suggested from a restorative justice viewpoint. First, more attention and efforts are needed from social welfare facility employees to boost perpetrators' fulfillment of corrective recommendations. Second, the remedy system of local governments' human rights organizations should be strengthened, and lastly, the decisions of human rights violations at local governments should be publicized more widely.","PeriodicalId":409727,"journal":{"name":"Research Institute for Life and Culture Sogang University","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114000066","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose, the study conducted a secondary data analysis with some raw data of the survey with offenders with a substance use disorder carried out as part of the 2016 service task of the Ministry of Health and Welfare. A binary logistic regression analysis model was used to statistically test a total of 127 cases to examine past treatment experiences in the compulsory treatment system and impacts on the perceptions of the court-ordered treatment. The analysis results show that when offenders with a substance use disorder knew that they could voluntarily use the compulsory treatment system, they were likely to use the court-ordered treatment. Their educational level and occupation turned out to be significant variables in the possibility of their using the compulsory treatment system. Based on these analysis results, the study proposed to provide information about the use of the compulsory treatment system and reinforce a promotional project for offenders with a substance use disorder and developed discussions about plans to develop the court-ordered treatment for them.","PeriodicalId":409727,"journal":{"name":"Research Institute for Life and Culture Sogang University","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130476796","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The data of this study are the data of the 10th (2015), 13th (2018), and 16th (2021) child supplementary surveys of the Korea Welfare Panel. A total of 1,138 subjects (10th grade elementary school students: 438 people, 13th grade middle school students: 383 people, 16th grade high school students: 317 people) were used for analysis. Research model analysis was analyzed using PROCESS macro. As a result of the analysis, first, as a result of confirming the mediating effect of negative emotion in the relationship between childhood abuse experience and adolescent suicidal behavior according to developmental stage, it was confirmed that there is a mediating effect in all of the elementary, middle, and high school students. Second, in the relationship between childhood abuse experiences, negative emotions, and suicidal behavior in adolescence according to developmental stage, the mediated moderating effect of self-esteem was confirmed in elementary and high school students, but no self-esteem moderating effect was found in middle school students. The above study results were discussed based on previous studies, and based on these results, an effective intervention plan for reducing suicidal behavior in adolescence was suggested.","PeriodicalId":409727,"journal":{"name":"Research Institute for Life and Culture Sogang University","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122818383","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The distinctive characteristics of humanisms in each era were reviewed from Renaissance era through age of Enlightenment to the contemporary. It is remarkable not only that there is no intrinsic meaning of humanism across time but also meanings of humanism in particular context of each era differ in very many ways but still have family resemblances in Wittgenstein’s sense. Humanism discourses have been diversified in the process of responding to challenges that each era has posed. We can say that language games of humanisms are ongoing process with diversity in Wittgenstein’s sense. The fact that traditional humanism, antihumanism and posthumanism are in the state of conflict is actually a sign for a good perspective to future, since the conflict itself shows a certain direction that future humanism is headed. There is no need to limit the scope of humanism since we can diversify and expand humanistic values as possible. This study is basically self-examination of the relation between ‘us’ and forms of life in our age. As studying current humanism discourses, we can see the scope of ‘us’ in humanism is expanding to all beings in the universe that we are related with. Humanism is an ongoing open concept. The humanism discourses are always dreaming a better world just like human beings. They will play variations as diversifying and expanding humanistic values as responding to challenges of times.","PeriodicalId":409727,"journal":{"name":"Research Institute for Life and Culture Sogang University","volume":"6 4","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132070759","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the other hand, Hwatu has maintained its status as a national game to promote friendship in leisure and daily life. Recently, art therapy using Hwatu has been actively performed to prevent dementia in the elderly. Hwatu, which has shown such a multifaceted aspect, is trying to show us a different side in the 21st century. While attempts are being made to localize it by combining with the nature and cultural properties of each region in Korea, it is now approaching people all over the world impressively through works such as the movie Minari. After successful localization, Hwatu is now in the stage of dreaming of globalization. In this paper, the past and present of Korean Hwatu were examined, and the future possibilities were explored.
