The influence of the instability of the element base in the implementation of sensor data using analog amplifiers and filters is considered. It is shown that the effect of this instability can lead to the formation of measurement errors. Even a change in the cutoff frequency of several hertz leads to the formation of an error of the order of 10–15%. The characteristics of digital filters that can be used in these sensors are given, which, using modern microcontrollers of the ARM architecture, will allow not only filtering in real time, but also perform mathematical processing of received signals.","PeriodicalId":408993,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON)","volume":"68 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117020434","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With over five billion chip-enabled cards across the globe, thermal imaging attack may create new crime avenue. This paper studies various vectors of thermal image attacks on PIN pad terminals with the main goal to outline potential controls to prevent such attacks. Previous research work confirms that the success of attack depends upon various factors like camera angle, camera-to-PIN pad distance, time between key punching and image taken, and the room temperature. These factors have been revisited as per the potential attack scenarios in a typical retail setup to find adoptable countermeasures. The research suggested deterring and preventive controls against thermal image attack on PIN terminals with emphasis on the applicability of these controls. The control measures such as the use of on-demand virtual keyboard and redesigned curved PIN pad terminal have been studied in details as an extra layer in physical security.","PeriodicalId":408993,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132474754","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The investigation results are confirmed the advantage of a Brillouin reflectometry method for early diagnostics and detection of local segments with mechanical stress in optical fibers. The phase shift method is effectively used to find the total optical fiber elongation. It is recommended to include the Brillouin reflectometer in the control systems of the optical fiber characteristics to detect fiber sections with high mechanical stress and temperature changes. This will make it possible to identify the potentially harmful segments in the optical cable at various stages of the cable production and improve the technologies used in the production process.","PeriodicalId":408993,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON)","volume":"386 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132944851","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The method is focused on total production control of thermal parameters of microelectronics industry products. The option of creating an electro-thermal model according to the Foster scheme is considered. The possibility of determining the thermal resistances “junction-to-case” and “case-to-ambient” of the high-frequency switching DC-DC converter ICs using the transient thermal response when it is approximated by two exponential functions is revealed. A technique for obtaining an approximating dependence for transient thermal response using an operator method for finding a solution describing the transient process in the Foster scheme is shown. The simulation results and experimental data obtained using the automated test equipment (ATE) based on PXIe platform by National Instruments are presented. The method is protected by a patent.","PeriodicalId":408993,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Siberian Conference on Control and Communications (SIBCON)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-04-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125661418","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
