Abstract
The effectiveness of short electric and magnetic dipoles is compared when they are used as an antenna for a nonlinear baseband pulse near-field radar. It is shown that a magnetic dipole provides a four times larger nonlinear response from a test semiconductor object than an electric dipole at seven times smaller dimensions of magnetic dipole.
