One of the factor causes the mortality of people is the lack of appropriate pre-hospital care provided. The effectiveness of pre-hospital care is important to reduce the death risk of severe cases like road accident and heart attack. The author proposes a mobile application which allows the emergency medical team to notify the hospital about the incoming victim's personal information and medical condition. It also provides a web-based system used by hospital staff to view the incoming victims. Rapid Application Development is used in this project. The prototype has been developed using App Inventor 2, PHP and MYSQL. A mock-up database of the victim personal information is stored in MYSQL.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127860713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Additionally, the PSO-GA hybrids have been embedded with dynamic parameterization. In this paper, the compiler specification and codes for developing the scripting language constructs are described. Then, based on the several algorithms of PSO-GA hybrids that have been developed with the scripting language constructs, the Line of Codes (LOC) are measured in order to test the easiness of the programming language. The results show that across all algorithms, the scripting language is anticipated to enable easy programming, which has been presented by the very less of LOC compared to the JAVA programming language.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"132 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116159747","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, developing an effective educational game which delivers concepts such as game play (rules and regulations), learning theories (theoretical based), subject-matter (learners and subject) and game environment is highly important. Furthermore, the collaboration between all the domains stated previously needs to be understood clearly by game developers in developing process. Therefore, this paper briefly highlights the proposed multi-domain framework for game developers to effectively model game and extracted implicit relationships based on game environment domain through a systematic literature review. This paper underlines sixteen (16) implicit relationships in perspective of game environment domain. They are validated through qualitative interviews with eight (8) game-based learning experts. Consequently, the results are interpreted in relevancy with all domains of framework by applying interpretive hermeneutic approach of qualitative study. The findings conclude 16 explicit relationships in perspective of game environment for game developers to guide them through development of educational games.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124351521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To develop the model, we integrated both the balanced scorecard method and the system dynamics modelling method. Contrasting the traditional university planning tools, the developed model addresses university management problems holistically and dynamically. By integrating the balanced scorecard and system dynamics modelling methods, this study was carried out in three phases. During the first phase, several interviews were conducted, and few documents content were analyzed to formulate the university balanced scorecard. The second phase involved the development of the university planning simulation model. In the third phase, the implications of various different strategies towards university performances were evaluated. Inclusive, a Microworld of the dynamic balanced scorecard for university planning (DBSC-UNI) is constructed to support decision makers in analysing the impact of various different policies towards university performances before real-world implementation. It is found that using system dynamics modelling method, the cause-and-effect relationships among variables related to the four conventional balanced scorecard perspectives are better understand. The dynamic processes that give rise to performance differences between targeted and actual performances also could be better understood. So, it is expected that the quality of the decisions taken are improved because of being better informed. The developed model can be exploited by university management to design policies that can positively influence the future in the direction of desired goals, and will have minimal side effects. This paper integrates balanced scorecard and system dynamics modelling methods in analyzing university performance. Therefore, this paper demonstrates the effectiveness and strength of system dynamics modelling method in solving problem in strategic planning area particularly in higher education sector.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114344456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many descriptors have been proposed in the literature for medical image categorization. It is unclear which descriptor encodes the content information efficiently. The descriptors that are calculated from these medical images should be descriptive, distinctive and robust to various transformations. The stability of these descriptors are evaluated under various transformations and are then analyzed for their discriminatory ability for the task of classification. In this study the criteria of transformations, repeatability, matching score and computations cost is used to evaluate the performance of these descriptors. The experimental results illustrates that among global descriptors local features patches histogram and among local descriptors SIFT encodes the content information quite efficiently.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"191 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133068847","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The factor such as financial crisis can easily influence the movement of the volatility. This unpredictable change means uncertain risks and not well preferred by the most of the stock market players. It is because higher risk can lead to a higher returns or losses. For these reason, this study has modelled volatility to investigate the behavior of stock return volatility of FTSE Bursa Malaysia KLCI with regard to the global financial crisis occurred in 2008 until 2009. The sample consists of 2473 observations of daily index return of FBM KLCI from January 2002 to December 2011. In order to model volatility of Malaysian stock market, three of the family of GARCH models was used. The results of GARCH (1, 1), indicate the presence of volatility clustering and persistence effects on the stock market volatility. Besides, the asymmetric models which are TGARCH and EGARCH detect the presence of leverage effects in the data series. Finally, the last evaluation shows that EGARCH model has outperformed the other class of GARCH model and has the best ability in forecasting the volatility. In conclusion, the results from this study show the ability of GARCH model in modelling volatility and indicate the existence of volatility clustering, leverage effects, and fat tailed in the Malaysian stock returns data.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133108506","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently data centers have thousands or tens of thousands of high performance computers that provides services as well as computation for tens or hundreds of thousands of users. Traditional IT challenges such as scheduling, resource allocation and now data centers are dealing with power consumption, it is the most expensive operational cost factor in data centers. Inefficient cooling leads to high temperature and this in turn leads to hardware failure. In this paper a Hybrid Integrated Thermal Aware Scheduling Algorithms are proposed based on baseline approaches. The aim of this paper is to minimize cooling energy consumption in data center labs when assigning jobs for computation. These algorithms avoid high thermal stress situations such as large hotspots and thermal violations events. The results show that the Hybrid Integrated Thermal aware scheduling algorithms (TFCFS and TRR) reduces cooling electricity by 7000KW compared to the baseline job scheduling algorithms, First Come First Serve (FCFS) and Round Robin (RR).","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122031136","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
