By using proper variables, the partial differential equations are transformed into an ordinary (similarity) differential equation. This equation along with the corresponding boundary conditions are solved numerically using boundary value problems solver (bvp4c) in Matlab software. It is found that dual (first and second) solutions exist for the similarity equation. The results are shown in a table and four figures for several values of the governing parameters.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"33 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125483302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Web Services are the implementation of SOA, where a service is Software component which does a specific functionality and does not depend on the context of other services. These services support distributed functionalities which operate irrespective of machine architectures, operating systems and programming languages; where the data transmission is done through the simple Internet protocols such as HTTP in Web Services. As the data is transferred in XML format which is a plain text, it is prone for attacks. The Web Service Description Language (WSDL) is an XML document that describes the services including their input/output parameters, while Simple Object Access Protocol (SOAP) describes the communication part. The standard SOA does not provide any sufficient security mechanisms for both WSDL and SOAP messages. Through literatures, it has been shown that there is a huge interest in developing solutions for SOAP message level attacks; however, there is not much on WSDL attacks. As a matter of fact, the WSDL attacks are severe in nature which can even halt the entire web services down. An attacker can reveal sensitive information as well as can interpret the list of operations that are provided by the web services. In this paper, the possible WSDL attacks are critically analyzed with their impact. A new SOA security framework which prevents the WSDL attacks and preserves the confidentiality and integrity of transmitted WSDL document is proposed. This framework effectively applies available security standards, and as a novelty it uses Artificial Neural Networks for knowledge acquisition of WSDL attacks dynamically.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122449575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The past studies have confirmed the rapid increase in the demand of software whereas its quality supply has drastically decreased to 6%. As high demand and low supply normally generate numerous problems, many researchers, therefore, have raised their concern to develop software affordable, less time consuming and feasible to achieve organisational ends. The findings of the past research studies have determined the fact that besides technical skills, human resources (i.e., personality type for team composition) is of pivotal importance for developing software which has not been seriously addressed. This study has tried to address this prevailing problem by focusing on patterns of personality types of programmer role monitored with team-leader. Additionally, to draw the attention of practitioners, the results are validated with several classification techniques and results appeared with high accuracy. The study has implications on both software developers and researchers having their interest in role of team composition in software development.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122470190","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We can easily find documents written in languages from all over part of the just from a single click. Increasing number of online text document in Internet makes the increased availability of information on the Internet. In fact that none in the world can understand all languages of the digital documents. Hence, there is a significant need to have a language identifier to assist user to understand the information. Up to now, the language identification is more focused in European languages and still limited for Asian languages. Whilst the research of language identification for similar languages from popular languages has attracted the attention of many researchers. In this research, a new language identification for language with similar topology, Malay and Indonesian language, is proposed. The algorithm is experimented on a set of Indonesian and Malay text documents to support the limited research of language identification for Asian language. An experiment done on 100 Indonesian and Malay text documents has produced a number of satisfactorily accurate results.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121778922","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, despite the progress registered in the use of e-collaboration system as educational tools through the incorporation of constructivism learning theories and its related didactics in higher educational institution, the approach has not yet been successfully transferred to the classroom. More importantly, there are still misconceptions among researchers regarding students achieving authentic learning from online interaction and collaboration. In an attempt to close this gap, a framework was developed to assist in the design, development and implementation of e-collaboration in a higher education institution. The framework addresses the development process of e-collaboration content, approaches for e-collaboration, pedagogical didactics, learning theories, and roles of users in e-collaboration. In an attempt to validate the framework, an e-collaboration system named `Teach, Learn, and Research E-collaboration System' (TELERECS), was developed and experimentally implemented in a classroom context. An experimental research design based on control and experimental groups, pre/post-test and usability survey were used to validate the framework. The results revealed that there is significant difference between the post-test mean scores of the experimental and control groups. In addition, there is moderate, positive monotonic correlation between easy to use and post-test-scores; and between useful for team work and post-test-score for the experimental group. These imply that the framework offers a promising basis for meaningful learning. Future work includes a further exploration and validation of the framework and comparing results.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"635 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116516291","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study focuses on numeracy skills for children with autism. It is crucial to conduct this study due to the increasing number of children with autism based on statistics data from the Malaysia Social Welfare Department. Children with autism have a neurological disorder that affects the functioning of the brain and causes problems with thinking, feeling, and language. Thus, a lot of studies have been conducted related to the social and literacy skills of the children with autism. However, numeracy skills are also important to the children and the advancement in mobile technology creates new methods to equip the children with numeracy skills. In order to develop a mobile numerical application that is able to fulfil the needs of these children, a proposed conceptual model will be constructed. The proposed conceptual model consists of learning theories, learning principles, multimedia elements together with colour psychology, number skills, language, gestures and contents.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125948962","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to different indoor environmental parameters, multi-path fading, human presences and different system configurations, the WiFi-based received signal strength indicator (RSSI) values are effected. This paper elaborates on the development of a wireless network test-bed to measure the Received Signal Strength Indicator (RSSI) in different environments, as the first step for the application of fingerprinting-type localization algorithms of wireless LAN devices. This paper shows how the environment for RSSI measurement is built and what network configurations yield the most reliable measurements. In the first phase of building a test-bed, configurations of off-the-shelf-equipment and the corresponding applications are explained. The second phase is to measure the RSSI in different propagation and physical environments. In this phase, different environments that have already been built in the first phase are examined. The signal strength is the only information we get from the APs that is usable for the localization process. An “RF sensor” network can monitor RSS values on links in the network and perform device-free localization, i.e., locating a person or object moving in the area in which the network is deployed. Experimental tests reported here and in past literature are shown to validate the analysis.","PeriodicalId":407600,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Mathematical Sciences and Computing Research (iSMSC)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131567549","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
