Se analiza el modo en que el trabajo de Arlt se vincula tanto con las producciones estilizadas de algunos escritores reconocidos que publicaban “al margen” de la seccion de noticias, asi como tambien con las notas de ciertos corresponsales que enviaban sus impresiones sobre la guerra desde los frentes de batalla.","PeriodicalId":40660,"journal":{"name":"Catedral Tomada-Revista de Critica Literaria Latinoamericana-Journal of Latin American Literary Criticism","volume":"7 1","pages":"202-2228"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43518803","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper addresses, from the perspective of gender and cultural studies, the work of several Latin American female writers who have articulated in their narrative different optical disorders as myopia, strabismus or diplopia. From this approach, it is pretended to demonstrate that the repeated presence of eye diseases has configured a literary motive which is directly related to the emergence of a new aesthetic positioning. The deficient visions are discovered, nowadays, as the manifestation of a different look that was required from the female discourse to be against the ocularcentric and male regime.","PeriodicalId":40660,"journal":{"name":"Catedral Tomada-Revista de Critica Literaria Latinoamericana-Journal of Latin American Literary Criticism","volume":"7 1","pages":"178-201"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46777296","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Propongo una lectura doble de ese nuevo espacio a partir de estos dos textos: primero, realizo un analisis de la reconfiguracion del campo literario argentino despues de 2001 y como el caso de Bruzzone, con un transito organicamente fluido entre circuitos editoriales independientes y comerciales y locales e internacionales, abre el camino para otros autores posteriores con un posicionamiento estetico e ideologico similar; posteriormente, analizo en detalle como Bruzzone propone desacralizar el espacio de lo narrable desde la parodia e incluso el dialogo con generos como el policial y el fantastico, y el uso de la autoficcion como mecanismo para subvertir los limites de la realidad y la ficcion y negar la posibilidad de construir representaciones absolutas. Ademas, argumento que el objetivo de estas dos obras es crear una linea continua entre la represion y las desapariciones de la dictadura y la violencia del presente.","PeriodicalId":40660,"journal":{"name":"Catedral Tomada-Revista de Critica Literaria Latinoamericana-Journal of Latin American Literary Criticism","volume":"7 1","pages":"75-109"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43914256","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Focusing on their transformed imaginary of “monstrous” reproduction, I explore in this paper how the texts’ Gothic and SF modalizations refract local conditions as well as critical elements of that shift, full of increasingly urgent and extreme consequences in Puerto Rico, and even farther afield.","PeriodicalId":40660,"journal":{"name":"Catedral Tomada-Revista de Critica Literaria Latinoamericana-Journal of Latin American Literary Criticism","volume":"7 1","pages":"281-326"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48400928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The land stops being a space to become a symbolic place where territories are unacknowledged by power. The memory in the characters of this author from Minas is marked by loneliness. The countryside, as a signifier, the stage of conjunction of the land, is what condemns and absolves, like what has been forgotten.","PeriodicalId":40660,"journal":{"name":"Catedral Tomada-Revista de Critica Literaria Latinoamericana-Journal of Latin American Literary Criticism","volume":"7 1","pages":"229-252"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44719000","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

That means, by the same token, that it has been a vastly productive one. In the 1960s, the iconoclastic avant-gardes of the interwar period were reframed as the culmination of a great modern tradition; at the same time, a diversity of apparently “post-modern” practices were now posited, once again, to be a break in historical continuity. The three Argentine episodes discussed here belong to a constellation of problems mobilized by the imaginary of rupture. First, the problem of heritage in critic and curator Jorge Romero Brest’s reflexions on art. Second, that of genealogy in Borges and Bioy Casares’ satirical Cronicas de Bustos Domecq . Third, that of legitimacy in several texts and a “happening” by young critic Oscar Masotta. My goal, together with bringing together a series of apparently disparate episodes and problems, is to highlight the geopolitical and classist undertones that have marked this key issue of modern art in a cultural scene marked by its peripheral position and rapid social change.","PeriodicalId":40660,"journal":{"name":"Catedral Tomada-Revista de Critica Literaria Latinoamericana-Journal of Latin American Literary Criticism","volume":"7 1","pages":"253-280"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44646873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper analyzes the narration of urban space around three central motifs: progress, uprooting and nostalgia.
