An algorithm is provided to compute the minimal set of possibility measures dominating a given capacity. This algorithm relies on the representation of the capacity by means of its qualitative Moebius transform, and the use of selection functions of the corresponding focal sets. We also introduce the counterpart of a contour function, that turns out to be the union of all most specific possibility distributions dominating the capacity. Finally we show the connection between Sugeno integrals and lower possibility measures.","PeriodicalId":403191,"journal":{"name":"EUSFLAT Conf.","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132694308","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The basic idea of our approach, referred to as choquistic regression, is to replace the linear function of predictor variables, which is commonly used in logistic regression to model the log odds of the positive class, by the Choquet integral. Thus, it becomes possible to capture non-linear dependencies and interactions among predictor variables while preserving two important properties of logistic regression, namely the comprehensibility of the model and the possibility to ensure its monotonicity in individual predictors. In experimental studies with real and benchmark data, choquistic regression consistently improves upon standard logistic regression in terms of predictive accuracy.","PeriodicalId":403191,"journal":{"name":"EUSFLAT Conf.","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122199138","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The required models to support the improvement design of a complex system must include both preference models and system behavioral models. A MAUT model captures the decisions related to customers’ preferences whereas a fuzzy representation is proposed to model the relationships between systems parameters and performances to capture operational constraints. This latter part of the improvement design is supported by a branch and bound algorithm to efficiently compute the most relevant actions to be performed.","PeriodicalId":403191,"journal":{"name":"EUSFLAT Conf.","volume":"54 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115436928","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is an aggregation operator that unifies the probability and the weighted average in the same formulation considering the degree of importance that each concept has in the aggregation. Moreover, it is able to assess uncertain environments that can not be assessed with exact numbers but it is possible to use interval numbers. Thus, we can analyze imprecise information considering the minimum and the maximum result that may occur. We analyze the applicability of this new approach in a multiperson decision making problem by using the theory of expertons.","PeriodicalId":403191,"journal":{"name":"EUSFLAT Conf.","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116210834","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We assume that U is written as the combination of an aggregation function and one value function over each attribute. The aggregation function is assumed to be a Choquet integral w.r.t. an unknown capacity. The problem we wish to address in this paper is the following one: if U is known, can we construct both the value functions and the capacity? The approaches that have been developed so far in the literature to answer this question in an analytical way assume some commensurateness hypothesis. We propose in this paper a method to construct the value functions and the capacity without any commensurateness assumption. Moreover, we show that the construction of the value functions is unique up to an affine transformation.","PeriodicalId":403191,"journal":{"name":"EUSFLAT Conf.","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-08-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122382581","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
