Per il filosofo tedesco il linguaggio e originariamente retorico in quanto e costitutivamente figurato-metaforico. L’autore sostiene che Nietzsche non cavalchi la retoricita del linguaggio per liquidare ogni verita, ma per offrircene un’esperienza diversa da quella platonica e soprattutto moderna. Ci si chiede inoltre come mai Nietzsche preferisca insistere sulla dimensione figurata, anziche su quella logico-argomentativa della retorica – l’ipotesi e che si tratti di un lascito luterano, prima ancora che romantico. ‘Metafora’, infatti, non equivale per Nietzsche a ‘tropo’, ossia a ‘deviazione’ dall’uso proprio o consueto, bensi ad ‘azione metaforica’, a trasfigurazione viva in cui il linguaggio mostra di essere originariamente uno con la forza della natura, che in esso si metamorfosa artisticamente. La forza dei discorsi retorici e risoluta e imperativa, e tuttavia differita nel velamento figurato, scevra quindi da ogni violenza rozza e fanatica.","PeriodicalId":40097,"journal":{"name":"Epekeina-International Journal of Ontology History and Critics","volume":"103 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-16","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"74445633","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Bluntly speaking, the change is from a time when the adversary is charged with practising poor rhetoric, to a time when the charge is that of practicing rhetoric tout court . What used to be given as a civilizing force, now becomes force of sedition and source of anarchy. The ‘cures’ advanced may very well be represented by the proliferation of proposals of linguistic systematization and reform, “real characters” and “universal languages” informed by plainness and ‘naturalness’, and inspired by a pre-hermeneutic ideal of discourse, in a strategy of political/cultural containment through linguistic control. However, the fight between the parties never ceases to employ rhetoric both as a message and as a code. The authoritative endorsement of the anti-rhetorical/anti-republican prejudice provided by Hobbes is contrasted with the agonic defense of the reasons of rhetoric and of civic humanism engaged by John Milton, the most powerful orator among the classical, neo-roman republicans involved in the founding of a new Athens in England.","PeriodicalId":40097,"journal":{"name":"Epekeina-International Journal of Ontology History and Critics","volume":"36 1","pages":"1-16"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"81434842","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lo scopo del testo e di comprendere il nesso intrinseco tra la funzione che nel sistema sociale ed educativo viene attribuita alla danza mimetica e il concetto di ἐπῳδή (incantesimo) che sembra giocare un ruolo chiave nello Stato platonico. A partire da un’analisi delle basi politiche e filosofiche della fondazione della nuova colonia, che rivela l’importanza della persuasione dei cittadini al fine di unirli sotto la Legge, il saggio si concentra poi sul mezzo principale di persuasione qual e, appunto, l’ ἐπῳδή , e sul suo triplice impiego positivo. Dal momento che, nel suo impiego primario, quello pedagogico, Platone non si serve del concetto nel significato antico dell’esercitare influenza sugli dei, si rende necessaria una giustificazione del suo uso da parte del filosofo. Essa si ritrova nell’effetto reale che l’incantesimo esercita non piu sugli dei ma in modo analogo sull’anima dei cittadini. In questo preciso punto si colloca l’intreccio tra l’ ἐπῳδή e la danza mimetica che include attivamente tutti i cittadini nella rappresentazione della virtu, in particolare della temperanza, e che crea nelle anime una vera e propria συμφωνία quale base del consenso sociale. Il testo chiude con alcune osservazioni sul valore che il progetto platonico potrebbe avere per la societa odierna.","PeriodicalId":40097,"journal":{"name":"Epekeina-International Journal of Ontology History and Critics","volume":"193 ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"72555055","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first focus is to examine the possible connections between analogy, the famous criterion of the Political and a concept of law that is affirmed by Schmitt to exist only where we find the due process of law as operating principle. In second instance I put in sight that kind of identity through a confrontation between some schmittian analogic elements and the theories on analogy formulated by Arthur Kaufmann and Enzo Melandri. Then I tried to show that Schmitt’s approach to analogy participates of both of the others, that is to say, hermeneutical and a kind of post dialectical with the aim of emphasizing that by adopting the Melandri’s analogia legis we can find an explicit call to find revolutionary analogies able to change a conservative context, while in Schmitt we can find only what is revolutionary in a negative meaning.","PeriodicalId":40097,"journal":{"name":"Epekeina-International Journal of Ontology History and Critics","volume":"55 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"80138463","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Habermas develops a ``consensualist'' theory of truth valid for both the social and the objective world. Over the years, he has acknowledged that the objective world differs from the social one for at least one point: the objective world is not reducible to what people can affirm about it, even if it comes from an ``ideal speech situation''. With this issue, he points out a sharp distinction that reminds us that there are other dimensions over the consensual one and these dimensions can put constraints on the freedom of our consensus. Analyzing the relationship that we (as speakers and actors) have with the objective world I set up a pragmatic realism that aims to explain the limits of our pragmatic relationship with the objective world through an external dimension, radicalizing its evidence with respect to Habermas's formulation.","PeriodicalId":40097,"journal":{"name":"Epekeina-International Journal of Ontology History and Critics","volume":"61 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"84961056","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cosi facendo e venuta assegnandosi un’importanza crescente al modo in cui vengono trasmesse le informazioni e all’effettiva capacita di comprensione e volonta di accettazione posseduta dai cittadini. Di fronte a tale scenario si ritiene opportuna una riconsiderazione delle meditazioni del filosofo spagnolo Jose Ortega y Gasset circa la produzione e trasmissione dei prodotti della cultura quali mezzi privilegiati di socializzazione degli individui e costruzione del consenso, in particolare con riferimento ai suoi ultimi scritti. Si intende quindi indagare la natura dialettica del rapporto tra l’istituzione delle norme sociali e loro accettazione attiva tra i cittadini, un nesso cruciale sia dal punto di vista di chi istituisce tali norme sia da quello di chi in base ad esse e chiamato a conformare le proprie relazioni sociali. In tal modo sara possibile comprendere come la legittimita del potere politico si fondi su un consenso tra i cittadini basato sulla credenza condivisa della correttezza del sistema di valori trasmessi dalla societa.","PeriodicalId":40097,"journal":{"name":"Epekeina-International Journal of Ontology History and Critics","volume":"6 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86404903","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is possible to regard the two concepts of empathy and distance as having significant importance throughout Farocki's filmography and critical texts . From as early as his second film, \" Nicht loschbares Feuer (1969), the german filmmaker seeks to prove how ambiguous and dangerous it could be to use empathic images in order to represent disasters and tragedies in human history, like the Napalm bombing in Vietnam. Showing the suffering of these victims may simply serve as an emotional hook for the audience and could simultaneously overwhelm and scare away the spectator . In order to avoid the fleeting commiseration for the victim , Farocki chooses instead a metaphorical approach ; to give the viewer an idea of what burning napalm is like , the filmmaker puts out a burning cigarette on his arm , giving the spectator only some technical information about the temperature of napalm. Lungi dal poter offrire una trattazione esauriente ed esaustiva, data la materia e data la sede, e nei limiti di quanto alcuni testi appartenenti al carteggio Schimtt-Blumenberg (1971-77) offrono, si vuole presentare uno dei concetti ‘interdisciplinari’ e complessi che hanno assunto una valenza paradigmatica e ineludibile nella riflessione contemporanea anche nella sua veste parzialmente retorica. Le varie declinazioni schmittiane del katechon stanno a significare l’ ‘insufficienza’ irreversibile del politico che forse e da indicare come una sovrapposizione su un ‘vuoto’ che immediatamente attende di riempirsi di strutture e sovrastrutture giuridiche, che detiene la decisionalita, la distende e la neutralizza sempre nel suo sfondo irrimediabilmente non decisionale. Il katechon viene a confondersi con l’epifania di potere di conservazione legittimante che si intreccia con la ‘secolarizzazione’, per sopperire alla naturale escatologia del politico, decisiva per la sopravvivenza stessa del sovrano che si tiene ‘normale’ e ‘normativo’ per contenere un’occulta dinamica di ‘ostacolo’, l’eccezionale anomia del nemico.","PeriodicalId":40097,"journal":{"name":"Epekeina-International Journal of Ontology History and Critics","volume":"53 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"90553667","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the one hand, the articulation of dissent needs institutional support, but at the same time dissent forms the basis of possible criticisms of institutions. In providing a reading of Michel Foucault’s late lectures on the Greek concept of parrhesia (the perilous, risky act of telling the truth), the present paper contributes to a more differentiated understanding of this double structure of dissent. Parrhesia , as a form of telling consensually unacknowledged truths, points to a constitutive incongruence between free speech and the normative frameworks in which it occurs. I show in what way this incongruence or gap between legality and discourse can be understood as a primary scene of ethical and political subjectivation. My central claim is that it is possible, departing from Foucault, to sketch an intrinsically dissensual conception of truth-telling apart from consensus-theoretic approaches. Furthermore, I show how Foucault gives hints towards an essentially performative understanding of truth-telling that is always and constitutively in danger of no longer being answered by reason or language, but by mere violence. This leads to pointing out the necessity of reinterpreting our concepts of freedom, subjectivity, and institution involved in our contemporary political practices.","PeriodicalId":40097,"journal":{"name":"Epekeina-International Journal of Ontology History and Critics","volume":"63 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-01-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"91253544","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
