The success of language teaching depends on both the material presented and the presentation technique done by the teachers to their learners. In this case, the material is prepared in accordance with the provisions set out in the curriculum by paying attention to the content that is appropriate to the context in order to achieve the teaching target. Creativity in the preparation of teaching materials and contents is needed to make it easier for students to follow each stage of teaching. In addition to the creativity in the preparation of materials, creativity and innovation in delivering the materials are also obligatory parts. The creativity and innovation of teachers in delivering can be done by various teaching activities that seek to generate students’ interest in teaching, creative power, and students’ innovation power. From this, teaching plans that lead to students’ activities, creativity, and innovations become crucial charts that must be prepared by teachers before starting teaching activities in the classroom. In SMA Annuriyah Bumiayu, an English teacher used Google Classroom in the Comment Column features to apply the online assessment for the EFL students. This study aimed to describe the use, find out the strengths, and discover the weaknesses of interactive formative assessment in the comment column of Google Classroom. This research was descriptive qualitative research. The data were obtained through interviews, observation, and documentation. The data were in the form of interview transcripts, table observation, field notes, and picture documentation. The researcher used data triangulation and method triangulation for the trustworthiness of the data. For analyzing data, the researcher used interactive model analysis, which contained reducing, presenting, and drawing or verification of the data. The results of this research show that the teacher used Google Classroom for presenting interactive assessments. From the description, the finding demonstrates the utilities and the tools of interactive assessment. Furthermore, the finding of the study also exposes the strengths and weaknesses of using Google Classroom. The advantages include Google Classroom is helpful in ELT, assessing students, and managing formative assessment. To do this research, researchers used qualitative methods. One of the techniques that researchers use in this study is the non-interactive technique that is the questionnaire. This questionnaire was chosen to explore deeper information about the opinions of English Education Students at State Islamic University of North Sumatera Medan starting from the 2nd – 8th Semester (participants or respondents) on the importance of expressing politeness. Researchers chose the questionnaire technique in order to shorten the time and got more participants rather than had to conduct interviews. This study reports the choice of being polite for people is influenced by differences in power relations, such as notion of status, age, gender, and social distance. Luthfi","doi":"10.24090/tarling.v7i1.7193","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.24090/tarling.v7i1.7193","url":null,"abstract":"The purpose of the study was to identify and describe the translation techniques, methods and ideologies used in translating Arabic cartoon subtitles Muhsin and Mahasin versions of the Youtube channel SFH channel and describe the quality of the translation as the impact of the techniques, methods, and ideologies applied, in terms of accuracy, acceptance and ,readability. This research uses qualitative approaches using qualitative descriptive methods. Included in the study data are Arabic video subtitles Muhsin and Mahasin, while the data sources are muhsin videos and Mahasin  link versions https://youtu.be/PZ3DPvdvVdI. The data collection technique used is scriptwriting. After the data collection process, analysis is also carried out. The findings of the study showed that there are six kinds of translation techniques. Based on the dominant techniques that occur, translators tend to use communicative translation methods and domestication as their ideology. Then, the impact of the application of translation techniques, methods and ideologies on the quality of translation as a whole has accuracy, acceptance, and readability. Hipotesis monitor dalam pembelajaran istima-kalam ini harus menyertakan prosedur intruksi dan koreksi dari setiap materi yang dipelajari dan dialami peserta didik. Proses koreksi itu juga perlu mempertimbangkan aspek unsur bahasa Arab terkecil yakni harf. Peserta didik dengan kesulitan mengucapkan harf tertentu, harus diberi intruksi atau arahan dan dipantau (monitor) dengan intens. Intruksi dan koreksi itu diperlukan untuk melihat sejauh mana peserta mampu menguasai pelafalan harf secara benar, menguasai pembentukan kata, dan kalimat menurut tarakib yang sesuai dengan ilmu sharf (morfologi Arab) dan ilmu nahw (sintaksis Arab). Bagi siswa di Indonesia yang mempunyai latar belakang kemahiran membaca tulisan latin, kemahiran membaca tulisan Arab merupakan suatu masalah, sebab alphabet Arab berlainan dengan alphabet latin. Metode qiroah adalah metode yang dilakukan dengan menyajikan materi pembelajaran dengan mengutamakan membaca, baik dengan menggunakan suara maupun di dalam hati. Dengan metode qiroah siswa diharapkan mampu berbahasa Arab dengan fasih, benar dan lancar sesuai kaidah-kaidah. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk mengetahui penerapan metode qiroah dan pengaruh metode qiroah terhadap hasilprestasi belajar siswa pada mata pelajaran bahasa arab. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitafif dengan metode experimen. Teknik pengumpulan data dengan observasi, tes dan dokumentasi dengan sampel yang diambil adalah kelas IV sebanyak 36 siswa. Hasil penelitian menyatakan bahwa ada pengaruh metode qiroah terhadap prestasi belajar siswa ditunjukkan dengan adanya peningkatan nilai dari pre-test dan post-test.  Perbedaan nilai pre-test  dengan hasil rata-rata 70,5 meningkat menjadi 78,5. It forces all levels of education implementing online learning platforms. Online learning platform gives freedom for students to learn autonomously. There are many online learning platforms available in this pandemic condition. One of the online learning platforms is eLDirU (e-Learning Jenderal Soedirman University). eLDirU is an online learning platform developed by Jenderal Soedirman University. It functions as a digital literacy learning innovation for native digital generation. In eLDirU, students and lecturers can interact in many activities provided in it. Students utilize eLDirU as synchronous and asynchronous learning media. This study observes students’ perception on using eLDirU as asynchronous learning media. 66 students worked as the subject of this study. 66 feedbacks were collected from students’ answers on questionnaires. The result of the questionnaire showed that eLDirU as asynchronous leaning media was proven to be helpful for the students in learning process. Students had a chance to explore themselves more in eLDirU. It also made them more active during learning process because lecturers facilitated the learning process by uploading related materials, videos, and other learning sources in it. Students also found no difficulties in accessing eLDirU, although they stayed in distant area. It might make them enjoy learning on eLDirU. The second result pointed out the use of eLDirU as asynchronous learning media. Students preferred using eLDirU when it came to asynchronous learning. In happened because they could explore their learning sources more with the help of eLDirU. But, for synchronous learning, the use of other learning content management system, such as Zoom meeting and Google Meet, would be students’ top preference. An alternative in online learning such as Massive Open Online Courses (MOOC) came up as the temporary solution. Despite their existence, MOOCs did not warrant the successful online learning. Both teachers and students experienced learning loss during the pandemic situation and this phenomenon was undeniable. The aim of this paper is to investigate how Guru Binar as one of the MOOCs succeeded in reducing teachers’ learning loss. This paper implemented qualitative method and a structured-interview was carried out to the selected participants of Guru Binar users in Indonesia from primary and secondary schools. Three focus group discussions were held and eight Guru Binar participated in this research. It was found that Guru Binar was successful in reducing teachers’ time loss via interactive talkshow and webinar and the online classes helped users spend qualified time with innovative games. It is useful to help students to keep on learning and get materials well in the difficult circumstance caused by the pandemic. This study aims to describe how Youtube is used as a learning medium in English teaching, especially the writing skill at MTs Ma'aarif NU 01 Kemranjen during the COVID-19 pandemic. This study uses a qualitative approach. Data are collected through the triangulation of interview, observation, and documentation. The data are then analysed by applying Miles and Huberman’s (1994) model of data reduction, data display, and verification. The results of this study reveal that Youtube is seen to be a good learning medium to cope with the learning difficulties in the unprecedented Covid-19 crisis. The asynchronous nature of the Youtube videos enabled students to repeat the video as much as they want to. The implementation of Youtube in online learning was done in three stages: 1) preparation, the teacher makes and uploads the videos; 2) implementation, the teacher shares the link and provides brief explanation on WhatsApp; and 3) evaluation, the teacher gives quizzes to ensure that the materials are well-received. Meanwhile, the obstacles in the implementation are poor Intenet network, insufficient facilities, and unmotivated students.
