As a result of processing interviews (N=14) using the grounded theory methodology, we reveal and describe the phenomenon of the empathic involvement of the therapist that occurs in the intersection of his/her own traumatic experience and the client’s experience. The structure of the phenomenon, contextual conditions and causal reasons for its occurrence, the psychotherapist’s action/interaction strategies with the phenomenon of empathic involvement and the consequences of these strategies are analyzed. Various forms of empathic involvement are identified: when the client’s experience is similar to the experience of the therapist’s trauma and when the client provokes a response as, rather, the source of the trauma. The proposed theoretical study will, first, clarify the understanding of the phenomenon of the family myth in the context of postmodern development of psychological scientific knowledge. Secondly, it is connected with a demand for psychotechnical renewal of psychological practice focused on constructive interaction of a person in a family, realization of his values, his preferred identity in the conditions of modern realities. The peculiarity of this practice consists in acceptance and understanding of the person’s history without concretization and amplification of the helpless, painful and pathological aspects of this history. Methods. Theoretical analysis of scientific sources, comparative analysis, generalization. Objective. To substantiate the possibility of considering the phenomenon of family myth as a discourse. Conclusions. Presented a new interpretation of the phenomenon of family myth in the context of the narrative approach in psychology. Family myth is defined as a discourse that is reproduced in family communication in the form of beliefs without obvious authorship, excluding their critical reflection, taking control over the behavior of family members in order to maintain the family system homeostasis and meet the criteria of family identification. The proposed variant of interpretation of family myth as a discourse opens up possibilities of psychological work with it in the format of deconstructive listening practice, which is understood as a special type of listening where any life story is seen as an actively constructed story, questioning the immutability of any life narrative. This study is important for understanding the children’s recovery process after brain damage and it also sets the stage for further research on the time perception in states of reduced or depressed consciousness. Goal. This article is devoted to the study of changes in time perception (сhronoception) among adolescent children after they have got moderate-to-severe traumatic brain injury. Method. The data obtained on children who have experienced post-traumatic state of mental confusion while recovering from brain injuries (n = 19) were compared with two control groups: adolescents with no brain damage (n = 25) and young people (n = 14). Results. Based on the data obtained it can be inferred that after having had brain injuries, children experience significant difficulties both in assessing the current time and in subjective timing of the minute interval. When restoring the psychological status after brain injuries, the formation of spatio-temporal connections, the ability to interiorise external eventfulness and the emergence of a correspondence between perceptual and conceptual times, are required due to the actualization of internal senses. The article examines the problem of psychological factors of observing stay-at-home recommendations, among which the main attention is paid to two types of optimism in a pandemic situation: constructive optimism and defensive optimism. It was assumed that they would have the opposite effect on adherence to the self-isolation regime, and the negative effect of defensive optimism would be mediated by a decrease in illness anxiety or fear of infection. To test this hypothesis, a longitudinal study (with an interval of six weeks) was carried out in a sample of 306 students (89% of women) using a life orientation test, the scales of constructive and defensive optimism by Gordeeva et al., and anxiety in a pandemic situation questionnaire by Tkhostov and Rasskazova. The results confirm our hypotheses: people who adhere to the stay-at-home recommendations are characterized by a higher level of construc¬tive optimism, i.e. they believe that their efforts will help prevent infection and spread of the virus. In contrast, people who demonstrate unrealistic or defensive optimism, that is, who believe that the issue of coronavirus is exaggerated, fear infection less and admit that they do not strictly adhere to the requirements of self-isolation. The article presents the results of an empirical study, aimed at revealing the peculiarities of parent position concerning the use of gadgets by preschool children on a Russian sample. Objective. The article focuses on the phenomenon of parents’ inconsistent position concerning the use of digital devices by preschoolers. Methods. The study was conducted in February-April, 2021. The questionnaire, elaborated by the authors of the study, was disseminated in social networks. 6376 parents of preschoolers aged from 2 to 7 from Russian Federation participated in the study. The collected data was analyzed with the help of quantitative and qualitative methods. Results and conclusions. The results of the study testify that most Russian parents demonstrate a coherent position in relation to accessibility of digital media to their children — they either give their children limited access to gadgets (66,1%), or completely ban it (5%). A big group of parents (28,9%) give rather controversial answers to questions concerning the accessibility of digital devices to their children, which testifies that they have no coherent strategy. The sample of the pilot study included 38 people, including 27 women and 11 men. Тhe average age of the subjects was 36.6 years for women (range: 24—55) and 39.1 years for men (range: 29—57). The following methods were used: Burnout Inventory (Maslach, Jackson, 1981; Vodop’yanova, Starchenkova, 2005); Differential Diagnostics of Reflexivity (Leont’ev, Lapteva, Osin, Salikhova, 2009); color metaphor technique (Solomin, 1996); a professional and demographic questionnaire developed by the authors. All respondents are engaged in the field of practical psychology. The results of the study revealed a low level of professional burnout and the prevalence of systemic reflection among specialists systematically attending supervision. The purpose of the study was to test the possibility of developing a positive body image by the means of psychological training. The study involved women aged 18—20 (N=64). The methods included questionnaires and interviews. The results show that the body image of young women was associated with unrealistic external standards, and there is a certain ambivalence to them. On the one hand, the indicators of the component of the body image which included information and evaluation are quite high in youth, but body dissatisfaction is also high and a significant part of the girls rely on external standards in assessing attractiveness. Sample: 80 mother-child dyads, 38 boys and 42 girls 5—6-years-old from Saint Petersburg. More mature parenting styles (sufficiency of demands, obligations with a low degree of prohibitions and sanctions, and lack of child infantilization), well-being in the mother-child emotional interaction (positive feelings and emotions in the interaction, and the mother’s ability to influence to the child state), and actual family cohesion have a positive impact on the development of preschoolers’ interpersonal emotional competence. At the same time, compensatory mechanisms in the formation of both the cognitive and affective-behavioral components were found. Differences in the mechanism of influence of situational and prolonged trauma are analyzed. CPTSD diagnostic criteria are compared to PTSD and BPD (borderline personality disorder) symptoms. The term “disturbances in self-organi¬zation” is analyzed, which explains the main mechanism of the impact of complex trauma and includes emotional dysregulation, disturbances in self-perception and relationships. Psychotherapeutic approaches developed for PTSD were shown to be insufficient for the treatment of CPTSD. The article reviews an approach to CPSTD therapy based on the consensus of experts in the field of post-traumatic stress and its possible limitations are discussed. “Component based psychotherapy” — another approach to CPTSD therapy — is described.
