Although there are studies that address the implementation of SDGs in higher education training processes, there are few studies that evaluate the progress of the incorporation of the SDGs in universities. A questionnaire is designed, validated, and applied to survey the heads of planning or related areas of the 32 public universities in Colombia. The results show significant commitment by universities in integrating SDG processes into the university’s institutional strategies. Delgado-Salazar","doi":"10.4067/s0718-50062022000200041","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.4067/s0718-50062022000200041","url":null,"abstract":"The main objective of this study is to assess the impact of a university teacher-training program at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil-UCSG (Ecuador) and examine its influence on teaching-learning processes. The program is based on the following competences: communication, digital skills, innovation, research, and leadership. A mixed methodology is applied through the application of a questionnaire and discussion groups. The results show that progress in each competence is revealed by the significance of the difference between pre-tests and post-tests. There are improvements between the mastery shown at the beginning and at the end of the training model as exhibited by text content analyses performed in the discussion groups. The methodology is mixed, quantitative and qualitative. Seventy-two first and second year university students are surveyed by applying an adapted planning sub-scale: metacognitive awareness inventory (MAI). The results show that there are no significant differences between gender, working hours, commitment to work, previous university studies, formulation of objectives, and academic performance. Text analysis for students with high and low academic performances show differences in time planning and prioritization strategies, support tools, and formulation of study objectives. The project consisted of designing and building a truss by using 3D printing. Students’ views regarding this learning experience are assessed to identify learning opportunities and challenges that may emerge while working on the project. Individual and group interviews and questionnaires were conducted twice per semester in two courses to gather the views of 11 students. Collected data was processed by content analysis. The results showed higher motivation and content significance and increased experience value. These results are in agreement with findings reported in the literature. Teamwork was the biggest challenge identified by the participants. The approach applied is propositional and rational and compares the Decrees 1330 of 2019 and 21795 of 2020 issued by the Ministry of National Education of Colombia. Analyzes are performed from a conceptual perspective to examine the standards of both the National Agency for Quality and Accreditation (ANECA, in Spanish) and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA, in Spanish). As a result, criteria and components are evaluated to develop a learning outcomes system that generates an integral perspective. In addition, criteria are established for the operability of learning outcomes (LO) and evaluation mechanisms (EM). The methodology was descriptive, and a detailed literature review analysis is performed. Twenty published sources were selected from Scopus, Scielo, and Web of Science. The results showed that the sooner entrepreneurship processes develop at universities, the greater the opportunities that students and future professionals have for generating successful entrepreneurships. The results also revealed entrepreneurial profiles and models of historical importance.
