Teachers seek to improve student-learning processes by applying various teaching techniques. Surveys are conducted on 175 postgraduate students from a Spanish university. The results are statistically analyzed and classified by gender, age, region of origin, and previous studies. The results show an overall preference for using the most computerized techniques, but differed according to student characteristics. It is concluded that combining TBL with different techniques for presenting results enhances student knowledge, social abilities, group integration skills, public speaking, arrangement of ideas, and interest.","PeriodicalId":38531,"journal":{"name":"Formacion Universitaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44618780","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The strategy integrates academic, research, and enrollment aspects. The methodology was descriptive-explanatory, with a mixed approach, and was developed in three phases. Surveys, interviews, focus groups, and a pre-experiment were applied. The sampling was intentional non-probabilistic and included 20 students, seven infant education bachelor’s degree professors, 30 professors from other degree programs, five managers, and 24 kindergarten educators. The results showed a positive transformation in students' environmental training in its cognitive, procedural, and attitudinal dimensions. The incidence record revealed that five indicators were at a medium level and that three indicators were at a high level. The pre-experiment showed that 90% of the students managed to move to a higher level. In conclusion, it is feasible to promote environmental training in universities with initiatives that integrate activities that connect teaching, research, and outreach.","PeriodicalId":38531,"journal":{"name":"Formacion Universitaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42135043","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A comparison is performed between two Colombian regions (Caribbean and Bogotá D.C.) that are dissimilar in their demographic, economic, and geographic characteristics. The methodology is descriptive and the Pearson’s correlation coefficient is used. The results show a disparity between both regions in the number of postgraduate health programs available and the demand for health services. There is a deficit of postgraduate health programs in the Caribbean Region when compared to the demand for health services in this region, which also has a high poverty index. It is concluded that the cost of tuition fees for postgraduate health programs is a key factor affecting access to these programs.","PeriodicalId":38531,"journal":{"name":"Formacion Universitaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"41973882","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The proposal adopts the System Dynamics for semantic modeling in the software development processes integrating content from systemic thinking and design courses. The proposal is applied by following a quasi-experimental design with two groups (control and experimental) of students enrolled in the systems engineering and informatics program at the Universidad Pontificia Bolivariana (UPB) in Colombia. The results show that students’ performance improved their comprehension by 38% in the physics phenomenon model, by 29% in the demand and supply model, and 23% in the bovine production model. It is concluded that the proposal developed helps to design software for rural production systems as well as to understand its complexity and the importance of associativity in them.","PeriodicalId":38531,"journal":{"name":"Formacion Universitaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46256804","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The methodology applied is divided into five sections: 1) identification of university courses that generate waste, 2) technical feasibility assessment for reusing generated waste, 3) intervention proposal design, 4) methodology’s implementation, and 5) methodology’s evaluation. The results show that collaborative learning allows first-year students to learn from the experience and knowledge of last-year students, promoting an increased and more adequate cognitive load than that of individual learning. In addition, 80% of the waste generated in practical teaching activities was reused. It is conclude that the methodology implemented here contributed to the creation of student awareness about environmental issues (waste) that students may face throughout their professional careers.","PeriodicalId":38531,"journal":{"name":"Formacion Universitaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"48053451","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La participación en comunidad, el desarrollo de voluntariado y los años de permanencia en la universidad aumentan la valoración expresada por los estudiantes. En consecuencia, es imprescindible indagar sobre la influencia de los niveles de ingreso familiar como represor o estimulador de conductas que evidencian un comportamiento de consumo sustentable socialmente responsable. Se concluye que es preciso promover a través de las funciones sustantivas de las universidades la integración de acciones socialmente responsables y ambientalmente conscientes. Abstract The present research study explores differences in socially responsible sustainable consumption behavior of university students from a city in Peru according to their sociodemographic characteristics. An instrument is applied to 318 future professionals, a non-probabilistic sample for convenience. Descriptive and dispersion statistics are estimated. The results show statistically significant differences according to sociodemographic variables. The greatest significant difference is observed for the variable “respect for people and animals” while the variable that showed the least significant difference is “informed purchase.” Active participation in the community, volunteering, and total years of study at university increase valuations expressed by students. The results suggest that it is essential to inquire about the influence of family income levels as a repressor or stimulator of behaviors that show socially responsible sustainable consumption. In conclusion, it is necessary to promote substantive functions of universities to integrate socially responsible and environmentally conscious activities.","PeriodicalId":38531,"journal":{"name":"Formacion Universitaria","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-02-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44614610","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
