Blockchain technology emerges as an innovative solution to address problems related to breast pathology. Being a decentralized network that records ‘data’ events in chained blocks, it offers security and transparency when storing information. Initially, blockchain was applied to cryptocurrencies and has spread to various industries, including healthcare in senology, where it facilitates the management of electronic medical records, such as mammograms interpreted using machine learning technology, biopsy results, scan interpretation, and the use or consumption. of medications, thus facilitating the exchange of data for prevention, diagnosis, management of medical or pharmaceutical supplies and research. Blockchain adoption presents ethical and practical challenges, especially in information confidentiality. Furthermore, the digital divide and unequal access to the Internet represent obstacles to its equitable implementation. Similarly, the use of blockchain raises questions about truth and trust in data, as it theoretically offers integrity and security, necessitating full epistemological validation of its usefulness in generating knowledge. In short, blockchain has the potential to revolutionize the healthcare industry; However, it is crucial that its implementation faces ethical, legal and technological challenges to ensure genuine social benefit and avoid exacerbating inequalities. Constant evaluation of its impact and integration with current systems are essential to maximize its potential while mitigating its risks.</div></div>","PeriodicalId":38058,"journal":{"name":"Revista de Senologia y Patologia Mamaria","volume":"38 2","pages":"Article 100652"},"PeriodicalIF":0.3,"publicationDate":"2024-12-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143141958","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"OA","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It affects patients from infancy to the sixth decade but typically occurs in young women. Since these lesions are rare and frequently asymptomatic, diagnosis becomes a challenge, in addition to the fact that the histological appearance of benign vascular lesions may resemble those of malignant lesions. The main challenge for the pathologist is the differential diagnosis between angiomatosis and low-grade angiosarcoma due to the similar morphological characteristics that they present in common. Recurrences are frequently encountered in mammary angiomatosis, thus, to prevent this, treatment must include excision with clear margins or mastectomy for lesions that cannot be completely resected. Understanding the mechanisms by which FDA-approved drugs exert their effects is crucial for optimizing treatment strategies and improving patient outcomes. In this review, we aim to categorize FDA-approved drugs for breast cancer treatment based on their distinct modes of action or mechanisms These mechanisms cover several activities, such as blocking particular enzymes that are essential for the synthesis of hormones, interfering with cellular functions that are necessary for the growth and spread of tumors, altering signaling pathways that are critical for the survival of cancer cells, and taking advantage of weaknesses in DNA repair mechanisms that are specific to them. In order to effectively battle this heterogeneous disease, a customized and all-encompassing therapeutic approach is required.
