The objective is to investigate if clinicopathological correlation is useful in the diagnosis of CM.</p></div><div><h3>Material and methods</h3><p>A descriptive, observational and retrospective study of a series of 100 patients (n = 100) diagnosed during ten years with CM is presented. Anamnesis, clinical debut, physical examination, imaging techniques, type of surgery, number of recurrences, histological inflammatory pattern data, complementary tests including microbiological study and serology, number of biopsies, number of consultation visits and time until final diagnosis are evaluated. Finally, the average of cases diagnosed by clinicopathological correlation is determined.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Results of surgical interventions, clinical and histopathological findings, microbiology and serology are included in tables. Clinicopathological correlation achieved etiopathogenic diagnosis in 99% of the cases including chronic suppurative galactophoritis (91%); vasculitis (3%), two of them compatible with granulomatosis with polyangiitis; idiopathic granulomatous mastitis (2%) and non-diabetic lymphocytic lobulillitis (3%). Thirty-eight percent of the cases presented recurrences. The mean time to definitive diagnosis was 20.02 (standard deviation = 49.87) weeks. This cross-sectional study aimed to investigate the role of NLR, LMR, and PLR in the clinical response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy in women with locally advanced breast cancer.</span></p></div><div><h3>Materials and methods</h3><p>We used a cross-sectional research design for this study with the aim of observing the relation between NLR, LMR, and PLR and the clinical response of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The study was conducted in Cipto Mangunkusumo General Hospital. We analyzed the medical records of 84 patients treated with neoadjuvant chemotherapy between 2016 and 2021.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p><span>Our study found that majority of the subjects receives CAF combination of NAC with inoperable breast cancer. Most of the subjects have luminal B type of breast cancer and no clinical response to chemotherapy regimen. Surgery has significant association with clinical response in patients receiving NAC (</span><em>P</em> = <.001). There are no significant correlation between NLR, LMR, and PLR with clinical response to neoadjuvant chemotherapy. The following data were collected: age, age at menopause, smoking status, </span>body mass index, adiposity, and physical activity. Plasma levels of follicle-stimulating hormone, estradiol, testosterone, </span>dehydroepiandrosterone sulfate (DHEAS), ∆</span> <span><span>4 androstenedione<span>, cortisol, insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1), and 25-hydroxyvitamin D were evaluated. Directed acyclic graph was used for the selection of potential confounding variables, and the </span></span>linear regression was adjusted for confounders to study the association between endogenous hormones and mammographic parameters. Results are reported as β-coefficients (β) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI).</span></p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>Multivariable linear regression analysis adjusted for confounding variables showed that cortisol (β = 0.20; 95% CI: 0.02; 0.37), and ∆<!--> <!-->4 androstenedione (β = −1.90; 95% CI: −<!--> <!-->3.30, −<!--> <!-->0.39) were significantly associated with breast density. IGF-1 (β = −0.01; 95% CI: −<!--> <!-->0.20, −<!--> <!-->0.01) was the only hormone with significant association with glandular volume. The lesions' probability of malignancy based on AI and BI-RADS categories of the lesion based on initial US interpretations were recorded. Categories obtained by both systems were divided into 2 groups as unsuspicious and suspicious in terms of malignancy and compared statistically. Reliability of AI was also evaluated.</p></div><div><h3>Results</h3><p>No statistically significant difference was found in the lesions' likelihood of malignancy based on the AI and initial US interpretations (<em>P</em> = .512). Additionally, a positive and substantial association (τ-b = 0.458, <em>P</em> < .001) between the levels of suspicion by AI and the initial US interpretation reports was discovered, as per Kendall-b correlation analysis. With a Cronbach alpha correlation coefficient of 0.727, the reliability was high for AI.</p></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><p>Benign inflammatory breast lesions may show suspicious appearances in terms of malignancy with US and AI. Artificial intelligence produces results comparable to radiologists' US reports for benign inflammatory diseases.
