Laser beams are affected by the presence of water vapor and aerosols which absorb and scatter the laser energy. The scattering coefficients of water molecules and aerosols were estimated to be about 6.3 × 10 -7 and 5.6 × 10 -5 m -1 , respectively, at wavelength (λ 0 ) of 1.57µm. Furthermore, the absorption coefficients of moist air at 30% relative humidity and aerosols were estimated to be about 6.16 × 10 -3 and 2.52 × 10 -5 m -1 , respectively, at λ 0 = 1.57µm. Then simulation of laser beam propagation in the moist atmosphere at λ 0 = 1.57µm was performed using these coefficients. Under the condition of no wind, the beam intensity decreases rapidly with increasing the length z and the rate of decrease slows down as the beam radius (ω) increases. When z h is defined as the z where the normalized intensity is halved, the z h (= 25 m) at ω = 20 mm when input power P = 10 W is about three times longer than that (= 8 m) when P = 100 W. This result indicates that the thermal distortion of laser beams due to accumulated heat around the z axis becomes more conspicuous as the optical power increases. The effect of this thermal beam distortion can be weakened when the laser beam is subject to crosswinds. Under the condition of gentle uniform wind with wind velocity v = 5 m/s, propagation of laser beams with ω = 20 mm was studied when P = 100 W. The z h (= 105 m) when v = 5 m/s is about 13 times longer than that (= 8 m) when v = 0 m/s. However, many applications have required UAVs to function autonomously, without human intervention to improve system performance. In this study, we propose a new approach to environmental monitoring using a group of UAVs equipped with sensors under the support of reinforcement learning. Regarding the communication system model, we assume that UAVs can cooperate with each other to learn and share information about the environment, and then relocate to an optimal position while managing connectivity and coverage. After that, we exploit reinforcement learning with a deep deterministic policy gradient (DDPG) algorithm to optimize environmental monitoring with the proposed algorithm. Specifically, the proposed algorithm aims to simulate an environmental monitoring system using UAVs with basic parameters. We further apply the proposed algorithm to evaluate network performance under different parameter settings. As the cost reduction is crucial and necessary to the business’s sector, in this paper, communication cost reduction is achieved via proposing a new topology called Bidirectional Odd Leader (BDOL). The BDOL topology is advantageous in terms of cost compared to the BDL topology due to the BDOL is a relaxation of the BDL topology. The string stability of the dynamical system with the proposed topology is first proven through numerical comparison with BDL topology. Then, the performance of the proposed topology has been evaluated by intensive computer-based simulation. A homogeneous platoon consisting of eight vehicles is created and tested on a straight and curved track, while keeping a small desired inter-vehicle distance. We evaluated the performance of our topology, and tested the string stability in many scenarios. These scenarios include platoon moving on a straight track with or without disturbance, lastly a velocity disturbance produced by a curved track affecting the platoon is also investigated. The efficiency of Electric Vehicles (EVs) are highly depends on the precise measurement of significant factors, as well as on the appropriate operation and analysis of the battery storage system. Unfortunately, inadequate battery storage system monitoring and safety measures can result in serious problems such battery over-charging, over-discharging, overloading, imbalanced cells, heat explosion, and combustion hazards. The quantity of a battery’s energy in respect to its capability is described to as the state of charge (SOC). SOC is measured in percentage points and is estimated as the distance between the battery’s maximum possible output and its average energy at a specific time under the same issues. State of health (SOH) is the evaluation of a battery’s maximum charge amount compared to its starting value when it is first discharged. SOH is calculated using percentage points as its variables. An efficient battery management system, which includes tailored to the content, charging-discharging control, thermal regulation, battery protection and security, is essential for addressing these issues. This paper’s objective is to provide a thorough analysis of various intelligent control strategies and battery management system methodologies used in the EV applications. Also, the review assesses the smart algorithms for estimating battery state in terms of their attributes, customization, arrangement, accuracy, benefits, and drawbacks. The education sector is one of the areas most highlighted in the new normal change. Various policies and learning methods have been attempted to implement distance education. In the current new normal, distance learning is a beneficial method in implementing education in Indonesia. The delivery of learning materials is carried out by sending materials and meeting face-to-face online using video conferencing applications and materials provided on online storage services. Both methods are now available on separate platforms and have not been integrated into one platform, making it difficult for users. It has shortcomings in terms of optimization in providing learning services. In addition, the method used today still has several weaknesses, such as adjusting the learning schedule, understanding that is more difficult to accept because it is done online and also not yet integrated between face-to-face materials and media on a mobile device. This study aims to design an Android-based e-learning application that can assist students’ learning process and help distribute learning materials. The application is designed to meet the needs of students in understanding the material more optimally and can be done without being limited in time. The results of research that have been carried out on student satisfaction obtained a percentage level of 94% which stated satisfaction in the use of learning applications. Due to power shortages and anonymous attacks, sensor nodes may produce faulty or anomaly data which affects the accuracy of the entire system. Effective anomaly detection is essential to make an accurate prediction of the result. Moreover, clustering-based anomaly detection reduces energy consumption by avoiding individual sensory data reporting to the base station. The proposed methodology consists of two phases: Correlated graph clustering, and anomaly detection using a Fuzzy model. In the first phase, the spatial correlation of the sensor readings is used to generate a graph, partitioned into clusters. The intra-cluster and inter-cluster temporal correlations are analyzed to refine the optimized cluster structure. Finally, a fuzzy Mamdani model is used to classify the clusters as either normal or anomalous based on their membership values. The proposed approach leverages both spatial and temporal correlation between sensor measurements to form optimized clusters that are more effective for anomaly detection. Considering a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) and its accompanying Power Amplifier (PA) as one object, the strict control law using traditional sliding-surface reaching speed and additional exponential components has created the anti-disturbance torque control signal for the system. Synthesis of the sliding mode controller is guaranteed mathematically based on Lyapunov stability. The disturbance compensation control component is quantified based on the upper and lower bounds of disturbance. In the present work, an effect of multi-fin with independent Line Edge Roughness (LER) has been analyzed to observe its influence on threshold voltage variation on intrinsic variability sources for a 14-nm FinFET device. The multi-fin analysis has been performed using the full 3-D device simulator for different fin shapes, i.e., curve-bent FinFET and thin-fat FinFETs. These independent LER FinFET devices parameters have been compared with the ideal FinFET (without LER) device. The result shows that multi-fin architecture helps mitigate intrinsic statistical variabilities adverse effects. For instance, the multi-fin device has 76.13% and 74.48% improvement in curve-bent FinFET and thin-fat FinFETs, respectively, compared to the single-fin devices. As a solution, a battery-directly-connected DC microgrid has been proposed in previous studies for autonomous and decentralized coordination control (ADCC). We constructed a testbed of the battery directly connected DC-microgrid in our university campus which has been operating stably for more than one year. This study experimentally verifies the feasibility of the battery-directly-connected DC microgrid, and the process of autonomous, decentralized, and coordinated energy distribution between the distributed small batteries through power loading experiments.
