This study then compared them to verify the characteristics and components of each edition in detail. \u0000First, the 1988 Microfilm Edition (M/F No.:88-0605) of the National Archives of Korea, the earliest copy of the Records of Gisaeng and Prostitutes, has a total of 212 pages. However, taking into account repeated and omitted pages and other factors, there were a total of 210 pages. \u0000Second, in the 1995 Photoprint Edition of the Institute of Seoul Studies, University of Seoul, each lined page is divided in half and printed separately. Counting two divided sheets as one page yields a total of 93 pages (pp. 145-237), for a total of 186 pages. After taking into account single sheets, repetitions, and omissions, the 1995 Photoprint Edition of the Institute of Seoul Studies, University of Seoul, has a total of 207 pages. \u0000Third, the 1999 Black and White Scanned Edition of the National Archives of Korea, Ministry of the Interior, is a PDF file with 213 pages. Taking into account repetitions, omissions, and other factors, the black and white scanned edition has a total of 211 pages. \u0000Fourth, the 2022 Color Scanned Edition of the National Archives of Korea, Ministry of the Interior and Safety, is a PDF file with 212 pages. This edition has one cover page not in the original copy but produced separately by the National Archives of Korea; apart from this, the 2022 Color Scanning Edition has a total of 211 pages, the same as the original Records of Gisaeng and Prostitutes. \u0000Lastly, this study found three additional documents not included in the original Records of Gisaeng and Prostitutes. Including them with the bound Records of Gisaeng and Prostitutes yields a total of 214 pages. The newly found documents will be clarified in more detail in follow-up research on reorganizing the source material of the Records of Gisaeng and Prostitutes.

This study presupposes that media literacy education is necessary in Korean language education. Media literacy education through the cognitive apprenticeship learning method is expected to have high educational effects. First, classes for media literacy education were organized and tasks were set. And media literacy education was implemented. Media literacy education was conducted for two years, and a total of 102 learners participated in the experiment. Classes were conducted based on the educational content set in this study. As a result of the learner’s pre-post verification, it was confirmed that there is an educational effect in ‘learner’s vocabulary use ability’, ‘reading comprehension ability’, ‘confidence in writing’, and ‘efficacy in writing’. The satisfaction of the learners was high, and the educational effect was confirmed in the learning testimonials.

Memoirs of the war contain a self-proof of the purpose of surviving in South Korea. The state deployed literary men in cultural projects to spread anti-communist ideology. The book produced as part of this program is 90 days of hardship. The national anthem emphasized the North Korean military’s reality, South Korea’s position in the international situation of June 25, and the victims’ consciousness. Memoirs played the role of spreading the memory of the nation at that time. \u0000Yu Jin-oh and Mo Yun-suk, Korea University professor Lee Kun-ho, and former Hansung Ilbo political and police chief Koo Cheol-hoe wrote this book. They recalled their experiences during the occupation of Seoul by North Korea. The narrative structure of Yu Jin-oh and Mo Yun-suk’s writings highlights the central character and ventures through hardships and overcoming. While Yu Jin-oh described fragmented psychological experiences in which the rational self collapsed, Mo Yun-suk emphasized the tragic story of the victim. Their writings explored the true story and revealed the historical reality. On the other hand, the writings of Lee Kun-ho and Gu Cheol-hoe eliminated the subject of memory, eloquently expressed anti-communism, and maximized the horrors of war. \u000090 days of hardship echoed the national identity and spread the anti-communist ideology. It specified the victims of the war and embodied the confrontation between the South and the North. ‘Remembering’ is the task of establishing meaning to individual and collective identities. This was an important purpose for investigating the war after the restoration of Seoul in 1950.

To carry out these activities meaningfully, it is crucial to accurately read and understand each culture, and cultural literacy education can be an effective method for achieving this goal. This study demonstrates the significance of cultural literacy education, particularly through folktales that reflect the values, thoughts, and lives of Koreans in the past. We reconceptualize the concept of cultural literacy based on various studies and present a cultural literacy class model. Additionally, we select a representative Korean tale, “The Brother and Sister Who Became the Sun and the Moon,” and provide detailed class contents and activities based on the class model. By integrating various studies, this study summarizes the concept and elements of cultural literacy and proposes a specific plan for learning cultural literacy through Korean folktales. This research offers a valuable contribution to the field of cultural education by demonstrating the importance of cultural literacy and providing a practical approach to teaching it through a traditional Korean story.

It aims to explore the possibility of developing and applying mediation activities in teaching and learning in Korean language education. This study hypothesized that learners’ cognitive difficulties caused by language barriers and the subject characteristics of the text could be addressed through mediation activities. Therefore, this study examined the mediation by focusing on the “mediating a text”, which can increase the connection between “reading” and the subject, in this case, “history.” Moreover, this study discussed the characteristics of each activity for “mediating a text” and its application in Korean language classes, with examples of each sub-activity beyond the textbook design. This study is significant as it builds on the concept of mediation, which was only vaguely presented in a curriculum, and suggests specific activities applicable to teaching and learning.

Subsequently, as a result of examining the effect size for each moderating variable, the effect size for the 3rd grade was the largest by grade. This is a different result from previous studies that the lower the grade, the greater the effect of project learning, and it was found that the specificity of vocational high schools that have practice classes mainly in the third year was applied. By operating class, the effect size of the 12th to 16th sessions was the largest, and by central subject, the architecture subject showed the largest size, and the convergence subject had the smallest effect size. \u0000As for the effect size examined by dependent variable, only 5 out of a total of 12 variables showed a significant effect size. The effect size of communication ability was the largest and the effect size of self-efficacy was the smallest. In relation to these results, it was suggested that the teacher's role as a learning facilitator is very important in order to maximize communication skills and improve students’ self-efficacy, and accordingly, teaching strategies are needed.

Sima Qian made aWhag Je their progenitor as describing the history of the Han. However, Whag Je in the primary historical records of China was definitely from Eastern barbarians and then, his descendants were Eastern barbarians. Shao Hao, the famous Eastern barbarian, is the son of Whag Je. Since Shao Hao is the very famous Eastern barbarian, Sima Qian couldn’t change his race to the Han. Thus, Sima Qian deleted Shao Hao and made Whag Je the progenitor of the Han. It means that Sima Qian knew Whag Je was the Eastern barbarian. \u0000The concern of Sima Qian still continues up to now. The progenitor of the Han is the emperor but his descendants are Eastern barbarians. The studies on the origin of Huaxia tribe in these days are to explain the relationship between Whag Je and Eastern barbarians, his descendants. The approaches to explain are very diverse including establishment of connection, embracement of ascendants and mandate. Such methods create the dogma that Whag Je is the progenitor of the Han and try to explain the reason why his descendants are Eastern barbarians. \u0000The problem is the origin of the Han because there is no way to explain the origin of the Han without mentioning about the race attribution of Whag Je. It is clearly identified from the fact that there is no clear explanation on the origin of Huaxia up to now while it has been a long time since Sima Qian. As long as the primary historical records exist, China couldn’t solve the issue of race attribution that Whag Je is the Eastern barbarian.

For this purpose, examining older patterns of writing beliefs and techniques was necessary. This helps search for positive improvements in writing beliefs through autobiographical text-writing activities of Internet writing cafes. \u0000Following are the results of this study. First, the average writing belief starts to decline around the middle age of an entire life cycle. Second, unlike students, variable measures are required to measure the distribution patterns of transmission and transactional writing beliefs of adult writers. Third, on a 5-point scale, the average writing belief was 3.7, which was higher than average, and the writing belief of citizen writers who authored autobiographies was a high 4.04. Fourth, a solidly positive association was found between writing belief and other writing sub-factors. The writing factor test and citizen writer belief test of the adult writer’s writing belief made the anticipation of a positive change in writing belief in adult writer’s autobiographical text writing performance possible. \u0000The examination of evolving writing beliefs in a person’s life showed that older writers prioritize participating in communication rather than transmitting accurate content. The result necessitates setting up internal and external communication spaces. These spaces can reflect the writing convictions and delivery process of mature writers, prone to being driven into the communication blind spot in social activities or interpersonal relationships after retirement.

Gyobang was established before King Gwangjong of the Goryeo Dynasty and existed until 1910, passing through the Joseon Dynasty. Rather than analyzing the meaning of the dismantling of Gyobang, which has lasted for more than a thousand years, it is being studied by focusing only on the personal activities of modern gisaengs. \u0000Gyobang is an organization planned by the state, and modern parasitic organizations were operated in the private or private sector. The dissolution of Gyobang means the loss of the national music institution and the disappearance of the official status. After the dissolution of Gyobang, popular art due to commercial capital became a trend. Nevertheless, modern gisaeng accumulated artistic capabilities through various activities.
