Participants were randomly allocated into one of three test conditions (‘neutral’, ‘happy’ and control) whereupon they performed two step-aerobic sessions; baseline/familiarisation and experimental. Upon completion of the trials various exercise related, psychological measures were taken (Session RPE, FS, Enjoyment and Subjective Exercise Experience). A 3 × 2 Factorial MANOVA was used to assess for main effects and between condition interactions. There was no evidence of any effect for any of the DVs. ES data appeared to support this conclusion. Numerous recommendations are made to direct future research into this area.","PeriodicalId":37202,"journal":{"name":"Comprehensive Results in Social Psychology","volume":"75 1","pages":"2165222816634038"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"83739883","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This international study takes into account the opinions of students with AS who are at university as well as their families and the teaching staff directly involved in their learning process (N = 83). The results obtained through an ad hoc questionnaire indicate that both curricular and organizational pedagogical factors were predictive of the satisfaction of the students with AS in higher education.","PeriodicalId":37202,"journal":{"name":"Comprehensive Results in Social Psychology","volume":"63 1","pages":"2165222816634036"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86809505","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These role conflicts may result in significant psychological stress for individuals. For corporations, stressed employees are also a problem. Work–life balance (WLB) programs to address these issues have emerged in Western countries in the past three decades and have been evaluated in various ways in multidisciplinary studies which have employed sociological and psychological methodologies. WLB programs in developed countries often reflect the ethos of particular cultures, and Western models may not be wholly relevant for cross-cultural comparison. The present study explores these issues using the methodology of critical realism in companies in the telecommunications sector of Palestine. This qualitative study develops a complex model of a newly identified set of factors, which may ...","PeriodicalId":37202,"journal":{"name":"Comprehensive Results in Social Psychology","volume":"16 1","pages":"2165222816648075"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76135215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, life or death is not ambiguous but very concrete. Three different historical shipwrecks offer an abundance of ways to demonstrate the relevance and importance of statistics. Here, we discuss statistical outcomes associated with the loss of three ships: the HMT Birkenhead in 1852, the RMS Titanic in 1912, and the Korean ferry MV Sewol in April 2014. These disasters can serve as examples for demonstrating the relevance of statistics to current events. Statistics in these historical events can help students see that the survival rates of different groups of passengers were very different, with medium to large effect sizes. Even if statistical analyses cannot answer all of the questions about why some passengers had higher survival rates than others, they can lead to further productive qualitative or quantitative research into such questions.","PeriodicalId":37202,"journal":{"name":"Comprehensive Results in Social Psychology","volume":"1 1","pages":"2165222816647900"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89658013","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such testing is often performed by means of confirmatory factor analysis. However, that method offers insufficient feedback at the level of items, while its goodness-of-fit indices are notoriously unreliable. Richer and more precise feedback would be generated by a data-driven optimization of the predicted clusters (factors), allowing a comparison between predicted and empirical clusters (factors) at the level of items. Contrasting these two provides a basis for classifying the items into hits, false positives, and false negatives. This division greatly facilitates reinterpretation of the clusters (factors) and evaluation of the items. In addition, it offers a basis for two new measures of goodness of fit with respect to the correct assignment of items to clusters (indicators to factors). Application of this new approach to a questionnaire on Obsessive–Compulsive Disorder wil...","PeriodicalId":37202,"journal":{"name":"Comprehensive Results in Social Psychology","volume":"96 1","pages":"2165222816646237"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"86689708","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
