Then, it is demonstrated that the use of appropriate features can not only reduce the number of features, but also can improve the prediction accuracy. A feature selection MLP selects significant features online while learning the prediction task. Moreover, in this proposed approach, MLP is trained using Modified Levenberg-Marquardt algorithm for better convergence and performance. The experimental results show that the proposed approach provides significant prediction result with very less error rates.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"155 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131328289","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Behind this we can see the future of computing for both in technical and social perspective [1]. Though the idea of Cloud Computing is recent, we can find its roots in the early 1990s. It can be considered as an extended form of grid Computing and utility computing. Cloud Computing is aimed at providing IT as a service to the cloud user’s on-demand basis with greater flexibility, availability, reliability and scalability with utility computing model. This new paradigm of computing has an immense potential in it to be used in the field of e-governance and in rural development perspective in developing countries like India. Electricity and Water are supplying to the public nowadays. Likewise computing can be provided to the public using Cloud Computing. Resource sharing in a pure plug and play model that dramatically simplifies infrastructure planning is the promise of Cloud Computing [2]. The two key advantages of this model are ease-of-use and cost-effectiveness. Using this business enterprisers can reduce their cost and maintenance charges. This paper introduces internet-based Cloud Computing, exploring the characteristics, service models, and deployment in use today, as well as the benefits and challenges associated with cloud computing [2] [3]. Also discussed are the communication devices in the cloud and the importance of scalability and flexibility in a cloud based environment.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116520710","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It helps in transportation of raw materials and final products to different distribution units. Many industries like automotive, chemical, manufacturing etc. has a setup to move heavy and hazardous materials by employing human resources and manual vehicles. This process consumes time in turn increasing the expenditure of the entire product and also human life is at stake. The present work is an attempt to overcome these disadvantages by developing the proof of concept of AGV that can be deployed in material handling systems. An articulated robotic arm is used to shift materials and for testing the sample using a framework known as ROS. An automatic test facility is developed for demonstration of an industrial environment. Automatic sample tester will determine the parameters from the samples provided by the AGV. An application is developed to determine the position of the robot with respect to the stations and also battery percentage of the robot.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"38 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120988273","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The capabilities of RFID and its features are facing improvement in many applications. RFID refashion the working practices with the help of increasing efficiencies and improving profitability. It is often applied as a replacement for today’s barcodes used in the library books. Also this technology has much greater efficiencies like providing individual serial numbers for each item and the reading capability can be achieved even at a distance of several meters. They have an easy deployment facility than wired solutions and these networks will enable improved understanding of processes and environments through continual monitoring of a larger set of parameters. In this thesis, the issue and return of books are recorded by the use of RFID Tags. It has the capability of both read and writes and hence updating the data encoded in the label is possible in the tracking cycle. The members will have the RFID tags as ID card, within that a transmitter is present. In the librarian section a receiver will be placed. Also a transmitter module is placed inside the book. By this transmitter and receiver, a member can automatically put the entry for issue and return of books without the help of librarian. If the member returns the book within the due period then the member is allowed to take another book, if he needs. If the member doesn’t return the book within the due period and tries to take another book then it alerts the librarian about the member. This automates the library and reduces the burden of the librarian. Also it makes the library as a user friendly environment.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128392486","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This type of welding machines causes unacceptable current distortions in the utility electrical distribution system, especially when an adjacent manufacturing facility with extensive electronic controls exists. This work demonstrates effective use of active low-pass filter with the pulse width modulator PWM carrier strategy to control the current of active filter. The method is based on frequency domain. A model of a typical power system coupled with arc welding machine is presented. The active filter are implemented in power electronic simulation software, representative waveforms and spectral analysis is presented, simulation results show that the proposed active filter is very effective in harmonic elimination of an arc welding machine.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129383951","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Traffic congestion is the major issues that would be considered. At the junctions of the road, vehicular traffic intersects and it can be controlled by the traffic signals. One of the main need of the traffic signal is that good coordination and control among the vehicles. The traffic on the road is very high during the peak hours. This leads to the emergency vehicles to stick in the traffic jam. Dynamic control of traffic is needed during peak hours. Hence we propose an automatic traffic light control for emergency vehicles. The traffic light in the path of any emergency vehicles is controlled. It does not depend on the way of monitoring people to be manual which results in time delay. So, Human life is not affected due to the time delay in the arrival emergency vehicles. To control the traffic, the man power is not required in this method. The emergency vehicles find the shortest path to the location of the accident. If the train crosses the junction, the emergency vehicle gets alerted before five km. In front of the zebra line crossing, a divider can be created for safety crossing of people. The system uses AT mega 8micro controller, IR sensors. This system is used to control the traffic lights. And also save the time in emergency periods.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"268 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131741948","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Through this integration data can be easily transferred through various development applications. In this work, importance of integration has been highlighted by integrating MathCAD and Pro-Engineer softwares for design and development of impeller of a blower. MathCAD is a standardized & right tool for engineering calculations while ProEngineer is a parametric, integrated 3D CAD/CAM/CAE solution. For overall pressure ratio (ξ) value of more than 2, forward (radial) impeller is suitable while backward curved impeller is more suitable for ξ less than 2. After implementation of this system, it is easily possible to optimize the design parameter based on the modified requirements. Also, new manufacturing drawings along with a bill of materials can be generated which helps to reduce the design cycle time.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134604578","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Smart meters provide two-way digital communications between the utility and the customer. Thus, enabling, customer energy management and demand response via both information and rate programs. Utility operational advantages such as outage detection and management, remote meter reading, and remote customer connections are possible by smart meters. Smart meter deployment causes controversies regarding mainly health, privacy and cost. Traditional measurement system met with lot of difficulties in terms of estimated billing and energy wastage. A measurement system lying in between Smart meters and traditional meter reading system is proposed here. Android is the first truly open and comprehensive platform for mobile devices. It is an open-source development platform for creating mobile applications. This application contains OCR (Optical Character Recognition), barcode reader and data transfer applications. A prototype measuring system using Android hand held device is developed. Meter Identity and reading is two important parameters for any measurement system. These two parameters are captured and stored in android data base for future analysis. The consumer data base and meter readings can be exported to PC. A SQlite(Structured Queried Language) data base also created in the PC. Data base can be converted in to CSV (Comma Separated Values) files and can be exported to android device.
