The system uses inertial sensors such as 3-axis linear accelerometer and dual-axis gyroscope to calculate the tilt for balancing. The estimation algorithm i.e. Kalman filter continuously and recursively corrects the values obtained by mathematical integration of the velocity, measured using gyroscope at the rate of 20Hz. The correction is performed using the inclination value obtained from accelerometer. This reduces the integration drift that originates from errors in the angular velocity signal. In addition, the gyroscope offset is continuously calibrated. The tilt estimated by the Kalman filter is given to PID algorithm with a reference of 0 radian, to balance the system. The result shows the need of Kalman filter to remove sensor noise. The control and filter algorithm are implemented on Atmega32 microcontroller. This study reinforces the significance of sensor fusion for optimum performance. The conception presented in this paper will be of assistance in existing applications and in new designs.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129487086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, we propose an algorithm that utilizes haar classifiers detecting face followed by dividing face into Regions of interest (ROI) to extract facial segments. Furthermore, in this project, we propose a statistical approach to process the optical flow data to obtain the overall value for the respective feature region in the face. This approach has eliminated the requirement of accurate identification of the feature boundary. Optical flow computations are utilized to identify the directions and the amount of motions in image sequences that are caused by human facial expressions. These calculated values are then compared with the values from table to estimate the expression .Furthermore after getting the expression; these are then converted to sound by mapping functions. Sounds are generated by simple MIDI tunes based on instruments assigned to each region.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124842074","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Battery management system, which has acceptable life cycle, remains the major roadblock to large-scale production of Electric vehicles and Hybrid electric vehicles, which consists of high power density batteries. In the last few years the pollution problems and the increase of the cost of fossil energy (oil, gas) have become planetary problems. The car manufacturers started to react to the urban pollution problems in nineties by commercializing the electric vehicle. But the battery weight and cost problems were not solved. The batteries must provide energy and peaks power during the transient states. These conditions are severe for the batteries. To decrease these severe conditions, the super capacitors and batteries associate with a good power management present a promising solution. Simulink, a model is a collection of blocks which, in general, represents a system. This paper emphasis more on the management of the energy provided by super capacitor Packs. Each super capacitors module is made of 108 cells with a maximum voltage of 270V. The multi boost and multi full bridge converter topologies are tested to define the best topology for the embarked power management.. The experimental and simulated results validate the proposed two converter topologies presented in this paper.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125221547","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The development of a MEMS sensor system to detect compounds from a mixture has paved way to the development of small scaled reliable detection systems. The paper provides a novel idea of incorporating a MEMS chemical capacitive sensor element with a monolithically integrated signal conditioning circuit. CO2 gas molecules are sensed using a parallel plate chemical capacitor which uses the adsorption principle. The adsorbed CO2 molecules will form the dielectric media of the sensor thereby changing the overall capacitance of the sensor. This change would in turn provide the quantity of CO2 molecule present. The change in capacitance could be known to us by using a suitable signal conditioning circuit, here a modified schering bridge is considered and the corresponding voltage output gives us the quantity of CO2. This paper provides an overview of the design of the sensor element and the sensing circuit.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128227671","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prolonged suffering of kidney disease increases the impurities to high level in the blood and could develop complications like high blood pressure, anaemia (low blood count), weak bones, poor nutritional health and nerve damage. CKD also increases the risk of having heart failure and blood vessel disease. These problems may happen slowly over a long period of time. This paper aims at predicting the early detection of chronic kidney disease also known as chronic renal disease for diabetic patients with the help of machine learning methods. The Neural Networks is a model in the data mining space, which is mainly used to understand the relationship among data through its interconnection. In this case, simulated neurons accept inputs and apply weighting coefficients, further feed its output to other neurons. This process will continue throughout the network and eventually leads to high quality output. The neural networks are trained to deliver the desired result by an iterative process where the weights applied to each input at each neuron are adjusted to optimize the desired output. This method is often compared with decision trees, since both methods help to model data and has nonlinear relationships between variables. The neural networks concept seems difficult compared to decision trees, whereas it will generate higher quality output than decision trees.","PeriodicalId":360729,"journal":{"name":"Automation and Autonomous System","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128515096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
