These methods present strong statistical convergence properties but have not been evaluated from a computational point of view. This paper investigates the computational cost and performance of an orthogonal basis nonlinear system identification method. The computational effort of the model estimation and simulation are evaluated for an increasing number of experimental data, régresser dimension and for different values of a bandwidth limiting parameter. Results show that complexity increases linearly with all parameters for first-order interactions. For second order interactions, complexity increases exponentially with the régresser dimension and linearly with the other parameters. A simulated example illustrates the obtained results.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114370340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to guarantee an appropriate Quality of Service (QoS) some algorithms of Radio Resource Management RMM have been created, which are responsible of the efficient use of the air interface. The RRM's algorithms family can be divided into: transfer control, admission control, payload or congestion control, functionalities of planning of packets and control of power and handover. These contracts have been extensively used for market participants as a mechanism that prevents financial losses. In Colombia, bilateral contracts are mostly used by Load Serving Entities (LSE), which are often called \"comercializadores\", to lock in its demand and by Generation Companies (GENCOS). One difficulty of establishing a bilateral contract is to find a contract price that fits LSE and GENCOS risk tolerance. That is, LSE and GENCO need to find a contract prices that maximize their profits while keeping the risk below some confidential level. This paper presents a risk assessment methodology that establishes the contract price. This methodology is applied to a LSE in Colombia.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133406542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For instance, placing items in a warehouse where it is essential to take advantage of the available space and meet the production requirements. Similarly, the parking slot allocation for automobiles in a car parking in which there are occasions where a lack of proper distribution of the automobiles exist. In the same sense, the space allocation for crops in a land for cultivation in which it is important to take into account factors and features such as humidity and pH. In this paper, an intelligent organizer of objects is presented using Genetic Algorithms (GA) and Hill Climbing (HC) to solve the space allocation problem in a Warehouse, a Car Parking and a Land for Cultivation. Also, a technique that organizes objects randomly in the space was implemented to compare results with the intelligent techniques. Several tests were performed to check the proper system operation and then performance tests under different conditions are shown comparing the results between the intelligent techniques and the random technique. Finally, advantages and disadvantages of intelligent techniques to solve the space allocation problem are presented.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"51 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125157024","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is difficult to design asynchronous controllers on them because the circuit may suffer from hazard problems. This paper presents a method that implements a class of asynchronous controllers on FPGAs which are based on Look-Up Table (LUT) architectures. Asynchronous controllers specification used in heterogeneous (synchronous +asynchronous) systems rely on two types of signals: level sensitive signals that are used as conditionals and transition sensitive signals. Another requirement is to describe concurrency between inputs/outputs. The Multi-Burst Graph (MBG) specification allows to described these controllers in a compact form and also the MBG specification is familiar to the designers of digital circuits. This paper also proposes a generalization in the MBG specification to increase the ability to describe the interaction between inputs/ outputs. Our method begins from Generalized MBG specification. By doing this, the asynchronous circuits besides their intrinsic advantages over synchronous ones may also take advantage of integration, lower costs and short-time design associated with FPGA designs.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"211 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121844689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
