Most of the developments have been probed on Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGA) because it is fast and reliable. In this work, we present the architecture for biomédical compression based on Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT) and run length encoding: bank of register, coefficients block, control unit, multiplier/adder, thresholding and encoding. The DWT is performed in one level with sym4, the coefficients are threshold by hard rule and encoding is by zero run length. The hardware resources correspond to 7% of the available in the Spartan3 of Xilinx; the simulation of each module was on ModelSim.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"212 3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115584152","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is smart because takes advantage of the capability of the electric machine to behave as a generator. So, it is possible to recover the kinetic energy store in the rotating inertias by using regenerative braking during the deceleration and restore it into batteries. Some authors are focused on maximizing the energy regenerated, applying techniques as independent factors of the process, like storage elements, control of speed, acceleration, current, etc. In this work we exposes the regenerative braking process and its main parts in a holistic model, where discrete and continuous states and events are related, also linked into the dynamic behavior, bringing the possibility not only to have a general model that commands all the process, but also improve and monitor each stage as a whole. Thus our management architecture pretends to maximize the gain energy in every deceleration, and minimize the energy consumed.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"158 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123170248","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These methods present strong statistical convergence properties but have not been evaluated from a computational point of view. This paper investigates the computational cost and performance of an orthogonal basis nonlinear system identification method. The computational effort of the model estimation and simulation are evaluated for an increasing number of experimental data, régresser dimension and for different values of a bandwidth limiting parameter. Results show that complexity increases linearly with all parameters for first-order interactions. For second order interactions, complexity increases exponentially with the régresser dimension and linearly with the other parameters. A simulated example illustrates the obtained results.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114370340","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to guarantee an appropriate Quality of Service (QoS) some algorithms of Radio Resource Management RMM have been created, which are responsible of the efficient use of the air interface. The RRM's algorithms family can be divided into: transfer control, admission control, payload or congestion control, functionalities of planning of packets and control of power and handover. These contracts have been extensively used for market participants as a mechanism that prevents financial losses. In Colombia, bilateral contracts are mostly used by Load Serving Entities (LSE), which are often called \"comercializadores\", to lock in its demand and by Generation Companies (GENCOS). One difficulty of establishing a bilateral contract is to find a contract price that fits LSE and GENCOS risk tolerance. That is, LSE and GENCO need to find a contract prices that maximize their profits while keeping the risk below some confidential level. This paper presents a risk assessment methodology that establishes the contract price. This methodology is applied to a LSE in Colombia.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133406542","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, it is difficult to design asynchronous controllers on them because the circuit may suffer from hazard problems. This paper presents a method that implements a class of asynchronous controllers on FPGAs which are based on Look-Up Table (LUT) architectures. Asynchronous controllers specification used in heterogeneous (synchronous +asynchronous) systems rely on two types of signals: level sensitive signals that are used as conditionals and transition sensitive signals. Another requirement is to describe concurrency between inputs/outputs. The Multi-Burst Graph (MBG) specification allows to described these controllers in a compact form and also the MBG specification is familiar to the designers of digital circuits. This paper also proposes a generalization in the MBG specification to increase the ability to describe the interaction between inputs/ outputs. Our method begins from Generalized MBG specification. By doing this, the asynchronous circuits besides their intrinsic advantages over synchronous ones may also take advantage of integration, lower costs and short-time design associated with FPGA designs.","PeriodicalId":359559,"journal":{"name":"2010 IEEE ANDESCON","volume":"211 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2010-11-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121844689","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
