However, how mindfulness interplays with affect to exert its \u0000effect on decision-making remains relatively less explored. The present study examined and \u0000compared the performance of both mindfulness meditators and non-meditators on decisionmaking \u0000tasks under different affective states. A total of 100 participants (50 mindfulness meditators \u0000and 50 non-meditators) responded to the Five Facet Mindfulness Questionnaire (FFMQ) and \u0000performed the Iowa Gambling Task (IGT). Both groups were further divided into positive affect \u0000and negative affect conditions. The International Affective Picture System (IAPS) was used to \u0000induce positive and negative affective states among the participants. The baseline affective state \u0000of the participants was assessed using the Positive and Negative Affect Schedule (PANAS). \u0000Independent sample t-tests and a univariate ANOVA were computed to analyze the obtained \u0000data. Results showed that mindfulness meditators scored significantly higher on the total FFMQ \u0000as well as on its different facets. Furthermore, the results revealed a significant main effect of \u0000mindfulness and the affect group on IGT performance. The interaction between mindfulness and \u0000affective conditions was also found to be significant. Mindfulness meditators performed equally \u0000well on IGT under both positive and negative affect conditions, whereas non-meditators \u0000performed better only under positive affect conditions. The findings have practical implications, \u0000as they suggest that mindfulness meditation enhances decision-making by promoting effective \u0000emotion regulation and suppressing impulsive responses during decision-making in different \u0000domains of life.

The case \u0000study focuses on the successful treatment of a 25-year-old pregnant woman who was \u0000experiencing severe anxiety triggered by social situations and traveling. The therapy \u0000sessions effectively addressed and managed her anxiety, taking into consideration the \u0000unique circumstances of her pregnancy. The case study highlights the significance of \u0000individualized interventions and evidence-based approaches in effectively treating \u0000anxiety disorders in pregnant individuals. The symptoms were significantly affecting \u0000her daily life. The study aimed to assess the efficacy of cognitive-behavioral therapy \u0000(CBT) for individuals with social anxiety disorder during pregnancy and involved 12 \u0000sessions of therapy. Therapeutic techniques used for social anxiety disorder include \u0000psychoeducation, systematic desensitization, exposure and response prevention, and \u0000cognitive restructuring. At the end of the therapy, the patient’s symptoms were \u0000significantly reduced, and relapse prevention tactics were taught to help her manage \u0000herself in the future. The study suggests that CBT can effectively treat social anxiety \u0000disorder during pregnancy.

For young people, stepping into university represents a \u0000time of transformation. Students experience this phase, encounter a wide variety of \u0000new challenges, and suffer several psychosocial and mental health problems. To address \u0000issues and make an effort to overcome challenges, university students use different \u0000strategies for coping. In this study, challenges were identified through open-ended \u0000questions, and coping strategies were assessed through a brief COPE inventory (Carver, \u00001997). A total of 50 undergraduate students were selected from a state university through \u0000purposeful sampling. Interesting findings showed that there were considerable gender \u0000disparities in terms of coping strategies. Such interventions \u0000employ various techniques to improve psychological well-being and build positive \u0000feelings, behaviors, and cognitions rather than focusing on reducing negative emotions \u0000and negative cognitions. The broadening of positive emotions has been found to help \u0000in the development of long-term resources such as psychological resilience and \u0000flourishing. In this view, the review paper is aimed at exploring the impact of positive \u0000psychology interventions on patients with depression. The \u0000search was restricted to 20-year-old studies, i.e., between 1998 and 2022. The review \u0000of studies shows that PPI is better or equally effective than Cognitive Behavior Therapy \u0000(CBT) or treatment as usual.
