The participants comprised 30 men and 30 women within the age range of 65-69 years, retired and unemployed. The subjective age (SA) of the examined individuals was determined by asking them how old they actually felt. For a comprehensive assessment of the components of PB, the Sensory Organization Test (SOT) and the Motor Control Test (MCT) were carried out using the computer posturography complex «Smart Equitest Balance Manager». Comparative analysis of SA did not reveal any gender-specific differences in ageing perception among retirees aged 65-69 years. It has been established that retirement does not lead to a deterioration in age-related self-esteem in older people. Analysis of the resulting MCT assessment also did not reveal any gender-related differences in coordinated motor reactions and sensorimotor support of postural control in retired people between 65 and 69 years of age. However, a comparative assessment of SOT indicators showed that retired women have a decrease in static-dynamic balance and automatic postural control, as well as a decrease in the degree of participation of vestibular information in the control of balance. The findings of the study suggest that it is precisely these functional changes that are the root causes that increase the risk of falls in women after 64 years of age. Thus, we have established gender-specific differences in the components of PB among non-working retirees, which indicates the need to take into account gender characteristics when developing preventive measures aimed primarily at reducing the risk of falls.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 6","pages":"714-721"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"143658900","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Predisposition factors for this are polymorphisms associated with osteoarthritis, located in intronic and intergenic regions where transposable elements are localized. In inflamed joints, changes in the expression of many genes are determined, which may be due to pathological activation of retroelements that influence epigenetic dysregulation of the genome. To confirm the hypothesis, data are presented that in patients with osteoarthritis, activated retroelements LINE1, ERV3, HERV-K18 are detected in blood cells, expression products of endogenous retroviruses HERV-E2 and HERV-WE1 and a decrease in the activity of histone deacetylase Sirt6 are detected in joint tissues. A prospective cohort study included 138 elderly patients (mean age 68±4 years). Of these, the 1st (control) group consisted of 30 people who did not have established COPD and cardiovascular diseases comparable in gender and age to the patients of the main group. The main group included 108 patients, of which 53 people [42 (79,2%) men and 11 (20,8%) women] had COPD outside the exacerbation (2nd group), and 55 people [41 (74,5%) men and 14 (25,5%) women] with COPD outside the exacerbation who underwent IS (3rd group). It was found that elderly patients with COPD who underwent IS have more pronounced dysproteinemia, high insulin resistance index (40,4%, p<0,001), NLR (23,2%, p<0,01), MLR (22,9%, p<0,01), CRP (18,4%, p<0,01), MCP-1 (25,9%, p<0,01) compared to the COPD group. An increase in the processes of lipid peroxidation was revealed - the total oxidative capacity (15,9%, p<0,05), oxidized LDL (18,2%, p<0,01), malondialdehyde (17,4%, p<0,01) and a decrease in the body's antioxidant system - vitamin E (34,4%, p<0,01), superoxide dismutase (21,1%, p<0,01), with an increase in the homocysteine content in blood plasma by 28,3% (p<0,01). The level of scientific and practical interest in CCP technology is growing rapidly. The article reports on the current state of research on the use of CCT aimed at correcting cognitive impairment. The purpose of this work is to systematize the available scientific data in this area, as well as to promote further integration of research in the field of information technology into clinical practice, in particular, to study the potential of CCT as a promising therapeutic tool in the paradigm of successful aging and prevention of the progression of cognitive impairment. This paper provides an overview of existing papers on multi-omics integrative approaches in calculating the biological age of a human. An analysis of the most common options for integrating methylomic, transcriptomic, proteomic, microbiomic and metabolomic datasets was carried out. We defined (1) concatenation (machine learning), in which models are developed using a concatenated data matrix, formed by combining multiple omics data sets; (2) fusion model approaches that create multiple intermediate submodels for different omics data to then build a final integrated model from the various intermediate submodels; and (3) transformation methods (via artificial intelligence) that first transform each of the single omics data sets into core plots or matrices, and then combine them all into one graph before building an integral complex model. It is unlikely that multi-omics approaches will find application in anti-aging personalized medicine, but they will undoubtedly deepen and expand the understanding of the fundamental processes standing behind the phenomenon of the biological aging clocks.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 1-2","pages":"21-25"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141471252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
