The key well-known factors of cellular aging are the processes of DNA damage, telomere shortening, the development of oxidative stress and epigenetic changes. The above factors provoke the development of a pro-inflammatory environment, leading to errors in gene expression and metabolic dysregulation, thereby affecting the development of age-related diseases that contribute to pathological changes in the functions of tissues and organs. Modern pharmacotherapy approaches aimed at slowing down the processes of cellular aging are mainly focused on three key strategies: influencing the signaling pathways that cause cellular aging, as well as specific factors of the cell cycle (protein structures - receptors, carrier proteins, bioregulators, and so on), improving the elimination of cellular debris by the immune systern pharmacotherapy approaches aimed at slowing down the processes of cellular aging are mainly focused on three key strategies: influencing the signaling pathways that cause cellular aging, as well as specific factors of the cell cycle (protein structures - receptors, carrier proteins, bioregulators, and so on), improving the elimination of cellular debris by the immune system. However, the level of satisfaction is mediated by the level that they have and their socio-typological well-being - general, socio-demographic plans, and typical, typhlological ones, in the light of which the corresponding predictors of satisfaction are discovered. In terms of disability, all major categories of life activity are reflected as such outstanding abilities. In the context of the socio-demographic characteristics of elderly visually impaired people, predictors of their satisfaction with life are the stage of old age at which blind or visually impaired people find themselves, involvement in family and household relationships, high educational status, continuation of employment, including in the system of the Association of the Blind, the presence of hobbies and financial situation, and in terms of typhological characteristics - the age period when the disabling impairment of visual functions arose, the preservation of residual vision in case of blindness, as well as the experience of undergoing a rehabilitation course.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 4","pages":"352-362"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142627918","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This process was well-studied in hematopoietic stem cells (HSCs). Some mutations lead to a proliferative advantage and expansion of HSCs to form a dominant clone. Clonal hematopoiesis is general in the elderly population. Clonal hematopoiesis of indeterminate potential (CHIP) is a more common phenomenon in the elderly and is defined as somatic mutations in clonal blood cells without any other hematological malignancies. The development of CHIP is an independent risk factor for hematological malignancies, cardiovascular diseases, and reduced overall survival. CHIP is frequently associated with mutations in DNMT3A and TET2 genes involved in DNA methylation. The epigenetic human body clocks have been developed based on the age-related changes in methylation, making it possible to detect epigenetic aging. The combination of epigenetic aging and CHUP is associated with adverse health outcomes. Further research will reveal the significance of clonal hematopoiesis and CHIP in aging, acquiring various diseases, and determining the feasibility of influencing the mutagenic potential of clones.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 3","pages":"266-275"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141976827","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objectives of the study are: to establish the importance of tuberculosis as an infection that causes the intensity of caries among patients of older age groups; assessment using the Palmore scale of gerontological ageism «The ageism survey» and patients' perception of an artificial situation of age inequality. The study involved elderly (n=122) and senile (n=121) persons with partial secondary adentia who needed removable dentures. The control groups of older people included patients who denied being under the supervision of a phthisiologist, and the study groups confirmed this. To solve the first problem, a comparative assessment of the values of the components of the CPI index in the control and study groups was carried out. To solve the second problem, an artificial situation of age inequality was simulated in the process of dental admission. The results of its effects were evaluated based on the response of patients to questions № 9, 10 of the Palmor scale. The absence of a difference in the values of K and N components between the control and study groups indicates the absence of a significant effect of mycobacteria on the development of caries. The large values of component Y in the studied groups may indicate the detrimental effect of mycobacteria on periodontal disease. The absence of an increase in the intensity and stability of the perception of age inequality among patients who are under the influence of an artificially created situation proves the great effectiveness of background age inequality. At the same time, it is impossible to exclude the low sensitivity of the Palmor scale in the process of diagnosing age inequality in Russian society.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 3","pages":"230-237"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141976829","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A total of 81 patients with chronic pyelonephritis in the exacerbation phase were examined. All patients were divided into three age groups according to WHO recommendations: the 1st - 42patients of young age (18-44 years); the 2nd - 17 patients of middle age (45-59 years); the 3rd - 22 elderly patients (60-74 years). Computer morphometry of lymphocytes was performed in all examined patients. In elderly patients with chronic pyelonephritis the size and сytoplasmic-nuclear ratio of lymphocytes increase. This indicates the preservation of lymphocyte defense responses at this age. In male patients with chronic pyelonephritis in the 1st and 2nd age groups the size of lymphocytes increases, and in female patients - decreases.
