The purpose of the work is to assess the possibility of a unified digital circuit in providing operational monitoring of carbohydrate metabolism in middle-aged, elderly and senile people in the context of COVID-19. The materials used are the primary data of laboratory research results from the LIS «Ariadna.NLab» of City Multidisciplinary Hospital № 2 and the results of laboratory tests of patients of Polyclinic №8 were requested from the GIS REGIZ. Data analysis showed a statistically significant increase in blood glucose levels during the covid period in all age categories (p<0,05). In the post-COVID period, compared to the pre-COVID period, a decrease in glucose levels was recorded in middle-aged people (p=0,016), an increase in elderly people (p<0,001). The circulation of structured electronic medical documents allows you to aggregate statistical data and process them to obtain dynamic and analytical reports. The study results indicate that COVID-19 has the greatest negative impact on blood glucose levels in older adults.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 5","pages":"566-571"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142915802","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study was to evaluate the potentiating effect of glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine disodium in combination with bedaquiline in patients with multidrug-resistant tuberculosis in animals of different ages. The study was conducted on 75 male rabbits of the Soviet Chinchilla breed. Groups of young, middle-aged and elderly animals were formed. A subgroup of infection control (without treatment) was identified in each age group; the treatment control subgroup (infected animals treated only with bedaquiline); the main subgroup (infected animals treated with bedaquiline + glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine disodium). Computed tomography of the chest organs of animals in the main subgroups showed a lower severity of low intensity focal infiltrative changes in the lungs than in animals from the comparison subgroups, which may indicate the potentiating effect of the drug glutamyl-cysteinyl-glycine disodium. Earlier, as an indicator of the order of manifestation of various diseases, we substantiated the age-specific incidence index (ASII), which is the ratio of the primary incidence rate among people over working age to the same indicator for the entire adult population. At the same time, it seems necessary to explain the mathematical relationship between median age and ASII. The purpose of the study: mathematically prove the applicability of the age-specific incidence index as an indirect indicator of the median age of patients. The materials were data from medical reporting forms on the appeal to the clinic with a newly diagnosed. The median age was estimated using the interval series calculation formula. The median age of patients calculated using the interval series calculation formula was 50.6 years. Having compiled and transformed the system of equations, the formula for calculating the median age using ASII was obtained. Calculation with the modified formula showed a similar median age. From a clinical perspective, the early development of age-related diseases is identical to premature aging. In the future, the mathematically proven ASII indicator will make it possible to develop a strategy for screening premature aging, and will also become one of the tools for the promising direction of gerontology - biohorology. Thus, the mathematical relationship between ASII and median age is demonstrated. The validity of the use of ASII as an indicator of the median age of the patient and, as a result, the age of manifestation of the disease at the population level was statistically proven.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 4","pages":"415-418"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142628825","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the past decades, mankind has made significant progress in the study of Alzheimer's disease, but there are no methods to fully control the disease. The lack of effectiveness of existing treatment methods emphasizes the need to search for new approaches. The present review is devoted to the study of the latest data regarding the role of microbiota in the mechanisms of formation and progression of Alzheimer's disease, possible therapeutic ways to influence the processes of neurodegeneration through microbiota and taking into account identified relationships. The article considers the axis «gut microbiota-brain» as a link in the pathogenesis of neuroinflammation. New data on the influence of gut microbiota on neurodegenerative processes through metabolic, nervous, and immune mechanisms is analyzed. New data reveals correlations between microbiota specifics and the origin and/or progression of Alzheimer's disease, expanding the understanding of disease pathogenesis. The role of the oral microbiota in neurodegeneration processes is mentioned, emphasizing the diverse mechanisms of this disease. Available therapies for Alzheimer's disease are discussed, including probiotics and prebiotics, fecal microbiota transplantation, and dietary correction.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 4","pages":"442-452"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142628936","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This condition is associated with an increased risk of age-related illnesses, such as cardiovascular disease, neurodegenerative conditions, and metabolic disorders. Transcription factor NF-κB is one of the primary regulators of innate and adaptive immune responses, and its activation leads to the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines that contribute to inflamaging. Understanding the age-related alterations in the levels of proteins from the NF-κB family will help us to better comprehend the mechanisms underlying inflamaging and develop more effective treatments for chronic inflammation. The quantification of this biomolecule in lymphocytes and oral epithelial cells could serve as a basis for a minimally invasive screening test for inflamaging diagnosis.</p>","PeriodicalId":35293,"journal":{"name":"Advances in gerontology = Uspekhi gerontologii / Rossiiskaia akademiia nauk, Gerontologicheskoe obshchestvo","volume":"37 4","pages":"410-414"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"142628636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For a long time, loneliness and social isolation were mainly considered as a psychosocial problem. However, in the recent years, there has been increasing evidence of the possible impact of loneliness and social isolation on the development and clinical course of somatic diseases. Research objectives were studying and analysis of current literature data about the medical consequences of loneliness and social isolation in the elderly cases. An analysis of the literature data shows that loneliness and social isolation affect not only the psycho-emotional status of elderly patients, but also their physical health. It has been shown that the number of available social connections affects the development and clinical course of diabetes mellitus, cardiovascular diseases, and outcomes of the brain stroke, immune system reactions, average life expectancy, and the risk of death caused by any causes. It has been established that the influence of social ties on the risk and clinical course of chronic non-communicable diseases is comparable to the effect of such generally accepted risk factors like smoking, alcohol consumption, physical inactivity, hypertension, obesity, hypercholesterolemia, environmental pollution, as well as various medical interventions (vaccination, drug therapy, etc.). Social isolation affects the risk of hospitalization and the frequency of outpatient care, poor socialization increases the risk of death from a heart attack.
