Methods: The comparative approach was used, the study was conducted on the structural plan approved in 1996 and 2013 and compared with aerial photographs taken in 2011 and 2018, and three sectors were used for analysis and comparison: infrastructure (roads), public services (schools), and tourism and recreation (parks and green spaces). Results: The results showed concluded that successive administrations of Nablus city have failed to remodel the urban space since 1996. Only 45.8% of the proposed road network was built for the years of the first structure plan 1996-2012 and that 58.1% of the area destined for parks and green areas had been converted to other use. The analysis revealed that 83.6% of schools were built outside public service spaces, according to the 1996 and 2013 plans, and the green area decreased between 2013 and 2018 by an amount of 64,047 m², which corresponds to 32.8% of the total area, according to the 2013 plan. {"title":"How Does the Community of Students Interpret Statements and Attitudes of Teachers Considering the Hidden Curriculum: A Qualitative Study","authors":"Jehan G. Al-Bloshi, Ibrahim A. El-Shara","doi":"10.35516/hum.v50i5.946","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.35516/hum.v50i5.946","url":null,"abstract":"Objectives: This study aimed at identifying the content of implicit messages conveyed by female teachers to their female students. Methods: The ethnographic qualitative approach was used to achieve the goals of the study. Fifteen audio recorded class sessions of four teachers teaching the 9th or 10th grades at a certain public school were observed. The four teachers and six students of the observed teachers were also interviewed. The validity and reliability of the obtained data were verified. Results: The study showed several implicit messages conveyed by teachers to their students, such as respect of law, care for cleanliness, and respect of points of view of others. Some other hidden messages are negative; being not so strict about their attendance of classes, when they do not commit themselves to the time of a class, and when they underline certain subjects in the curriculum as being more important than others. The students interpret these messages in two directions, one of them the desire of the female teachers to win the students’ approval and affection and to draw the students closer to them, on the other hand female teachers’ desire to impose their control over the students, and to warn the students that the power and decision returns to the teacher. Conclusions: The teacher's clear message, student reception, and understanding is vital for successful teaching. Differences in message interpretation affect student interaction and acceptance. Methods: The study adopted the descriptive analytical approach in collecting information and data that interprets, analyzes, and describes the reality and current situation of the subject of study. A random sample, consist of 311 of bachelor students in Philadelphia University, were selected. Results: The study revealed that the members of the study sample are aware of the concept of a knowledge society in which the society employs knowledge and information to enhance the creative and innovative abilities and skills of individuals. A significant percentage of the study sample does not know that the political system plays the largest role in building a knowledge society, and that the economy is the decisive factor in its construction. Maberah, Salem AL- Quraan, Hanadi AL-Rashdan, Israa AL-Shboul","doi":"10.35516/hum.v50i3.5427","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.35516/hum.v50i3.5427","url":null,"abstract":"Objectives: The aim of this study is to assess the level of health behavior among Jordan University of Science and Technology students in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. \u0000Methods: A descriptive approach was used, involoving a questionnaire consisting of 30 items administered to a stratified random sample of 436 male and female students from Jordan University of Science and Technology. \u0000Results: The findings of the study revealed a high level of healthy behavior among students at Jordan University of Science and Technology. Additionally, there were no statistically significant differences in the responses of the participants to all items concerning the level of healthy behavior based on gender. However, the results did indicate differences based on the variables of place of residence, favoring students from cities, and income level, favoring those with higher incomes. \u0000Conclusions: Based on the aforementioned results, the research suggests several recommendations. Firstly, there is a need to raise awareness among students of the University of Science and Technology about the importance of receiving the COVID-19 vaccine approved by the Ministry of Health. It explores this relationship in light of various variables, including gender, age, family's monthly income, and educational level. \u0000Methods: The study sample consisted of 294 fathers and mothers randomly chosen from Irbid city. A questionnaire was used as a means of data collection. \u0000Results: The study revealed that 63.6% of the sample confirmed a strong relationship between social media and the increasing cases of family disintegration in Jordanian society. Additionally, 50.7% of the participants reported the occurrence of family disintegration cases within their social environment. The participants believed that social media has contributed to higher divorce rates, marital disputes, domestic violence, spouse desertion, and poor marital and family relations. They also identified social media as a source of family instability, citing its role in generating conflicts within families, facilitating sexual deviations among children, promoting unhealthy marital relationships, contributing to children's disobedience towards their fathers, increasing rates of marital infidelity in both women and men, and undermining the moral and value system of Jordanian families. \u0000Conclusions: The study concluded that there were no statistically significant differences in the effects of social media on family disintegration based on gender, family's monthly income, and educational level. It also seeks to identify the geographical extensions, drivers, and determinants of this role during the period from 2003 to 2020.\u0000Methods: The study utilizes the theory of Regional Hegemony, as it is a crucial framework for explaining international relations, interactions, and phenomena within a specific regional context.\u0000Results: Significant developments since 2003, such as the change of the Iraqi regime, the rise of non-state actors like the Houthis in Yemen, the Popular Mobilization Forces in Iraq, and Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Arab Spring events in 2010, and the emergence of terrorist organizations like (ISIS), have contributed to a fragile and tense regional environment. These factors have led to chaos, conflicts, and alliances among major regional powers, namely Iran and Turkey, as well as international actors like Russia and the United States. These powers have intervened in the region, claiming to establish international peace and security while combating terrorism. It highlights the significance of examining the theory of hegemony and its implications for the security of the Arab Gulf states.\u0000Conclusions: The expansion of Iran and Turkey in the region, accompanied by a shift from defensive realism to offensive realism, suggests an attempt to dominate and pose a threat to other Gulf countries.
