Through-holes can be etched using ammonium persulfate doped 5 wt.% tetramethylammonium hydroxide (TMAH) solution that ensures a stable 1.52 μm/min etching rate maintained over the entire process. Diluted TMAH surface texturing combined with RF sputtered silicon nitride reduces the average surface reflectance to 2.50%. The efficiency of the anisotropically etched test structure device is 9% including grid contact and silicon through-hole areas, the reached transparency is 6.7%.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133398820","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To overcome this limitation, it has been proposed to receive ADS-B signals from low earth orbit nano-satellites and relay them to the terrestrial receivers. This paper gives an overview of the GATOSS mission and of its highly-sensitive ADS-B software-defined radio receiver payload. Details of the design and implementation of the receiver's decoder are introduced. The first real-life, space-based results show that ADS-B signals are indeed successfully received in space and retransmitted to a terrestrial station by the GATOSS nano-satellite orbiting at 700+ km altitudes, thus showing that GATOSS is capable of tracking flights, including transoceanic ones, from space.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"352 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-11-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115976137","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

During over a decade of history, together with intensive development of terahertz quantum cascade lasers, respecting simulation software tools has been developed too. The process of development of simulation software is a sophisticated task, because many fields of science meet there - quantum electronics, computing technologies, software development etc. The progress in computing power have made simulation tools much more handy, as calculations of non-complex quantum well heterostructures can be run on a personal computer during a considerable time. Simulation of Quantum Cascade Lasers with complex structures can still be very time-consuming. In this paper few strategies on how to improve and optimize QWWAD software tools are analysed, implemented and corresponding results presented. Improvement of eigenvalue problem solution gave 20 times faster algorithm in solving Schrödinger equation. Other ideas did not give remarkable success.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128275135","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first approach is based on introducing of additional test points. An experimental tool set is developed for fast evaluation of the number of control points that is needed to achieve 100% fault coverage for the given functional test sequence. A novel algorithm is proposed to minimize the number of control points. The second approach is based on complementing the functional test with additional deterministic test patterns. The pros and cons of both approaches are highlighted and discussed.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"41 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129458497","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The effect of the resistance value of open faults in an NAND/AND gate is investigated. It is shown that the test speed is determined by the characteristics of the pull up load. Open faults in other transistors are not affected by test speed. Also, it is proven that only three ordered test vectors are needed to detect all open as well as short resistive faults in the gate. Finally, the effect of the resistance of short faults is studied and it is found that the value of the resistance of the short does not affect the ability of vectors to detect faults in the 45nm technology while this is not the case for the 90nm MCML or the 45nm CMOS technologies.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133545622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A typical battery pack consists of series connected cells that need to be monitored and controlled to achieve optimal performance. In this article the author previous work regarding passive balancing circuit is described and the performance of a passive balancing circuit is given and drawbacks are discussed. Another method of active balancing is proposed. The new method combines an active balancing method and a charger topology to develop an integrated charger-balancer solution. The basic calculations of the converter are given. To evaluate the operation of the system a three supercapacitor cell charger circuit was developed and tested with three different capacitor initial voltages. The obtained results and system performance is discussed.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117029860","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
