The selection method of the unique segments to be used for cross-correlation is described and analysed. In the validation by cross correlation technique at least two images of one coin are used: face side and edge side are used, providing the high accuracy of proposed solution. This algorithm was implemented and tested in Matlab. The results of experimental tests on real euro coin images are presented and analysed.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"67 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126655317","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At that has been found confirmation the fact the quantum correlations between the entangled photons are nearly or totally instantaneous but those correlations cannot be used for the direct superluminal information transfer as the state of the photon in the pair is unknown before the first measurement. Technology of entangled photons has made possible the modified double slit experiments where the appearance of the interference picture in detecting of the “signal” photons may be controlled by the manipulation of the spatially separated “idle” photons. In the present paper we discuss the possible superfast communication channel between the entanglement-linked distant parties using the remote manipulation of the interference picture formed statistically by the number of signal photons.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"242 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114304007","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In addition, the instrumentation for EEG is at least an order of magnitude cheaper than that for MEG. The positioning of the MEG recording dewar is far more simple and fast than fixing the traditional EEG-electrodes. Furthermore the traditional EEG electrodes suffer from stability in long term recording sessions. With new smart electrode design the technical difficulties of traditional EEG electrodes may be avoided and the theoretical benefits of EEG may be fully utilized.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130165171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The goal of research activities is wear reduction of rail wheels and tracks, wear reduction of traction energy losses and increasing of running comfort. For this purpose the experimental rail vehicle with special construction including control algorithms for routing optimization of bogie powered by traction battery is utilized. This vehicle has a rotary bogie with independent rotating wheels driven by permanent magnets synchronous motors and a solid axle. The designed testing control is implemented to the superset control system of this experimental rail vehicle. The traction requirements and curve track radius have an effect to the control. The wheel forces in bogie are measured by large number of the tensiometric sensors and other various vehicle sensors for evaluation of testing control effect. This control including sophisticated routing is verified and corrected according to individual traction and driving characteristics.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130647923","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Using chirp excitation enables to monitor the behavior of objects under study within a wide frequency range by a single measurement cycle. In addition to the simple frequency scaling, chirps are easily scalable in the time domain, too. It makes it possible to generate very short chirps, maintaining their bandwidth at the same time. It is especially important in measurements, where the speed of measurement is important, e.g., in high throughput microfluidic lab-on-chip type devices for monitoring of cells and droplets, or in systems, where low power consumption is unavoidable, e.g., in implantable medical devices. Unfortunately, shortening of chirps reduces the useful energy of excitation and involves the decline of some spectral properties, e.g., flatness, which is an advantage of traditional long chirps. This paper provides a short overview about methods for improving the spectral and energy parameters of short-time chirps.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132073376","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the extreme scaling of emerging nanometer technologies makes the routers vulnerable to wear-out and environmental effects. In order to contain this issue, development of online testing capabilities for the NoC routers is a must. This paper proposes concurrent online checkers for structural faults in the NoC routing algorithms utilizing the Logic-Based Distributed Routing (LBDR) concept. We show by fault injection experiments that the fault coverage of existing checking mechanisms for LBDR faults is very low. We propose an extended set of concurrent checkers that increase the coverage more than threefold facilitating detection of the majority of structural faults within the LBDR.","PeriodicalId":348260,"journal":{"name":"2014 14th Biennial Baltic Electronic Conference (BEC)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129791810","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
