In the context of blog communication, dialogical relationships between senders and recipients of stimulating messages, which are a prerequisite for the exchange of opinions, are based on the respondent’s planned feedback. The differences between explicit and implicit feedback with stimulating messages are revealed. A working hypothesis is put forward that in blog communication, in comparison with oral spontaneous communication, implicit feedback plays a more constructive role and has a specific functional load due to the respondent’s delayed (asynchronous) response to the stimulus, the reactive activation of the means of establishing and maintaining phatic contact with the interlocutor and the subjective detailing of the dictal and/or modus content of the stimulating message. Due to the time and/or spatial distance between the interlocutors, as well as the presence of multiple respondents, feedback is predetermined by the addressee’s expectations regarding the planned interaction, and not by the fact of mutual recognition of individual intentions that characterize oral spontaneous communication. The projected response and mental representations of an imaginary responsive respondent shed light on the pragmatic differences between stimulating and responsive messages, through which the participants of the communication plan to continue the exchange of information and emotions. The repertoire of communicative strategies that acquire essential importance in the process of overcoming the problems of establishing and maintaining feedback in computer-mediated communication is determined. The current aspects of designing the interfaces of blogging platforms that influence the pragmatic contexts of feedback implementation are discussed. It is established that in blog interaction, when initiating a stimulating judgment, the lack of feedback can be a natural phenomenon that does not affect the effectiveness of communication. The stance is viewed as the manifestation of the author’s feelings, attitudes and values. Studies on stance to date have largely examined its expression in linear texts based on the natural language. However, the way stance is marked in multimodal texts, specifically in cinematic ones based on the interaction of verbal and non-verbal modes, remains an underexplored area. To fill the gap in scholarship the present research aims to identify linguistic, paralinguistic and non-verbal markers of stance in a film dialogue. The film “The Man who Knew Infinity” serves as the material for analysis. The study employs the stylistic and contextual analyses as well as the Multimodal Discourse Analysis. The research shows that stance is expressed verbally both on lexical and grammatical levels and is supported by paralinguistic and non-verbal means. The main linguistic means used to express objective stance in the sample multimodal text is the morphological category of mood. The subjective stance, on the other hand, is mainly marked with the help of various lexical items. In reference to stance expression, syntactic means proved to have very limited use in the cinematic text. It can be explained by the colloquial nature of a film dialogue, which makes it syntactically simple. The article deals with the functioning of speech strategy in Spanish diplomatic documents. The relevance of the study is due to the importance of studying of the speech impact on the addressee of the communication. Particular attention is paid to the theoretical aspects. The article gives an overview of the concepts of «speech genre», «speech strategy», «ethical genres». The subject of study are the texts of diplomatic documents of the Spanish Ambassador to Russia, Duke de Liria during the reign of Emperor Peter II and Empress Anna Ioannovna. The Duke de Liria ethical speech strategy involves numerous areas of silence about the most important historical events of Russia during this period, which is evidence of the modality of persuasion of the addressee in the absence of active domestic political life in the country and the formation of public opinion in accordance with the goal, the conclusion of a treaty between Russia and the Holy Roman Empire. The author of the article shows that modern ethical speech strategies of the Spanish diplomatic discourse also exist mainly in the modality of persuasion, today they use a large arsenal of means to achieve this goal, which includes repetition, synonymous series and periphrastic constructions, outdated words and expressions, which gives the right to speak about a high degree of conservatism of ethical speech strategies in the Spanish political discourse. When analyzing news and reportage texts, the following aspects are taken into account: (1) the journalist’s illocutionary purpose; (2) the specifics of the text production and interpretation, as well as the author and addressee’s social roles; (3) rhetorical architectonics and text composition; (4) genre typology of texts; (5) text interpretation strategies used by the addressee. The collected body of factual material was divided into two groups of texts. The basis for the differentiation of texts was such a parameter as the dominant / peripheral coverage of facts of a news nature. It is established that the texts of the first group show the characteristics of the news or reportage genre, the aspect of news coverage of the actual fact is explicitly present (the history of the formation of the fact on the time axis, its dynamic or static nature, the reactions of representatives of various social organizations or political parties to this fact, the consequences of the actual event are traced). It is noted that reports reflecting a point of view on a fact or psychological reports are generated regardless of the facts that are relevant for coverage at the moment: the first type of texts is formed on the basis of data from interviews with experts in the covered issues, the second type – with famous personalities belonging to the creative workshop. The last position in this group of texts is occupied by reports covering the actual fact, which are often difficult to distinguish from news texts. These texts were attributed to the genre of reportage on the grounds that they do not contain an impartial narrative about the facts that have just happened, but the publication of information that has previously been analyzed and structured by the journalist. The second group is formed by texts that belong to genres that reflect a more universal theme, and therefore are less related to the coverage of actual facts of everyday reality. The relevance of the study is because the structural, thematic, and functional characteristics of abbreviations are considered in direct connection with the features of online media. The material for the study was 500 abbreviations obtained by continuous sampling from the most cited Russian online news publications. The main research methods were the method of continuous sampling, semantic, functional, and thematic analysis. Based on the already existing thematic classifications of abbreviations, the authors identify nuclear thematic classes related to areas relevant to modern society. As a result of the study it was found out that online news media use abbreviations from such thematic areas as politics, economics and finance, the legal sphere, government bodies of the Russian Federation, the military sphere and the media. In the texts of military subjects the use of digital abbreviations, both in Cyrillic and in Latin, was recorded. The study found out that abbreviations are used in the titles of articles without any explanation of their meaning. The meanings of abbreviations are explained in the texts of the articles. It has been established that the presence of abbreviations in the headings of texts is a consequence of the manifestation of the nominative and compressive functions of abbreviations and is due to the constant change of information in online news media. Functional analysis of abbreviations showed that abbreviations in Internet media texts can be used as a means of manipulation. There is the lack of research that has explored the language means forming these categories in the new multimedia genre of political discourse. The study aims to identify common to all genres of political media discourse and specific to political direct email genre lexico-grammatical means of expressing modality, temporality and personality. The data of research are lexical and grammatical units used for representing modality, temporality and personality in the political direct email genre by continuous sampling method. This study is based on the methods of contextual and linguo-pragmatic analysis. The main types of modal meanings in political direct email genre are necessity need, should), obligation (must) and possibility (may). The credibility of the statement is ensured by the derivative modal words really, clearly, truly. In the political direct email genre reference to the present and future tenses is expressed both grammatically (the present and future tenses) and lexically (lexical markers ‒ today, now, still). Other lexical means of conveying temporality are direct temporal nominators (time, year, month, week, hour, by age of …, deadline + date ) and indirect indicators of temporality (once, soon). in political direct email genre. The study is conducted on the material of electronic versions of articles taken from modern American (“The New York Times”, “The Wall Street Journal”, “The Washington Post”), British (“The Guardian”, “The Independent”, “The Times”, “Financial Times”) and Spanish media (“El País”, “La Vanguardia”, “El Mundo”) in 2022. The purpose of the work is achieved by applying the complex method of lexico-semantic and stylistic analysis, interpretive analysis, the comparative method. It is established that each state strives to strengthen its positive image in the media space. Often this happens due to the purposeful belittling and deterioration of the image of those states that are considered competitors, ideological opponents, or enemies in the eyes of the readership. We will consider in the article how the media influence the image of the country and how the media image of the state is formed. We have selected analytical and news articles which create the images of two influential states Russia and the USA in comparison in different linguocultures. We examined the image of Russia and the United States based on the classification of V. Slavina and A. Oleinikov. As a result of the study, it was found out that in 2022 the opinion of the American, British and Spanish media about Russia and the United States is formed on the basis of already existing negative or positive attitudes and depends on the events taking place in the world. Public opinion, the moods of the ruling elites, the economic and foreign policy situation are changing, therefore the nature of the coverage of information in analytical and news media articles is also changing. The image of Russia in both analytical and news articles seems to us negative. The image of the United States, created by the American, British and Spanish media in news articles is neutral, there is no assessment of American government and what is happening on the territory of the U.S. In analytical articles, the image of the United States is criticized. An analysis of the factual material showed that the smallest number of articles is devoted to the image of the territory and the image of the people. The images of political leaders - V. Putin and D. Biden - are the main dominants in the formation of the image of the country in news and analytical articles. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the study of the representation of the images of Russia and the United States in American, British and Spanish news and analytical articles in a comparative aspect. Such indirect interaction, while complicated by a “dead” public space features a wide variety of encoding types and methods based on non-converging codes. The author employs critical discourse analysis to investigate the specific and most effective tactics that can be used to manipulate the collective mind of the topically and situational labeled pandemic discourse, and which implement a special type of understanding and description of respective phenomena in relation to various texts determined by the pandemic-bound reality. The focus is on complex, hierarchically arranged cognitive-cultural structures of generalized strategies, which are saccadic selected in various code systems (verbal, visual, auditory, symbolic, etc.). The primary tactics used within the strategy of creating psychological tension include “severe prognostics” and “illustration”, within the irony strategy the most effective in terms of shaping a new axiological space are the tactics of increasing voluntative potential: explication of expectations, game forms and oneiric perception. Thus, a kind of universal model of dominant strategies in crisis network communication is being built. Despite the contrastive basis of imprinting when employing these dominant strategies, the tactics that fill them will mix constantly and complement one another, which can be explained by the polydiscourse and polycode specifics of filling the “dead” communication space with mediated variable coding. The controversial nature of this phenomenon is due to a number of linguistic and extralinguistic features, which determines a comprehensive cognitive-discursive analysis of the fake phenomenon in order to identify the sources of its destructiveness, the mechanisms that ensure the successful manifestation of the fake. The crucial violations of the basic laws of formal logic which function as a source of fake conflictogenity are examined in the paper, their productivity is revealed in this aspect, and several recommendations for verifying fake information are provided. The analyzed material is taken from the Internet pages of print and online media of various levels and formats, blogs functioning in the course of the media discourse. It is established that fake is a complex multi-stage cognitive-communicative action. The deliberate unreliability of a fake message determines the mandatory application of various kinds of violations of the norms of communication, first of all – the laws of formal logic. Violations of the laws of identity and sufficient reason are most often used, less often – the law of contradiction; the law of the excluded third, due to its specificity, is not used at all. Violation of the latter law inevitably leads to disavowal of falsification. Structural violations taking place in the cognitive model of a fake message contribute to the successful masking of fake information, as well as blocking the recipient’s critical thinking and, as a result, the intensification of speech effects on the addressee. In addition, the communicative perspective of a fake is associated with causing damage to the addressee. The purpose of the article is to identify the notional component of the concept under study and its cognitive features as realized in the journalistic genre in the language of mass media. Based on the attributive and predicative cooccurrence of the keyword, cognitive features of the concept are singled out and united into thematic groups. The total of these features describes the notional component of this concept. In the course of the study, the most frequent and significant thematic groups were identified, these are “control”, “growth”, “evolvement” and “functionality”. The semantics of growth and incompleteness suggests that the metaverse is not yet a fully defined concept but is only at the beginning of its development and explication. Cognitive features in the thematic group “functionality” have the semantics components of “help” and “instrument”, which emphasizes the perception of metaverse as a kind of a means or a tool. The main concern of the society is expressed in the thematic group “control” with the key cognitive feature “decentralized”, which reflects the need to prevent the monopolization of this new and rapidly developing sphere of human activity. During the study of this concept in the media discourse, the following features were identified: openness and accessibility of the “metaverse”, its rapid development, digital character, verisimilitude. Negative assessments of the metaverse are associated with dystopian scenarios, while positive ones describe it as something popular, attractive, and even seductive.
