The research underpins the earlier research in methodological terms and traces successful performance such as productivity and quality results of an SME (small and medium-sized enterprise) within the context of Industry 4.0. This new industrial paradigm is not just about technology, but it also involves changes in the technical and production development, so current ways of value creation are evolving and bringing extensive organizational consequences and opportunities. Our case study presents the systematic diversification process described in the Maturity Model to implement Industry 4.0 scenario [2] in an automotive production company, using the three elements: Envision, Enable and Enact. We choose to present this case study because many companies want to start the implementation of this new business model. However, there is a gap of information concerning the steps that a small and medium production unit needs to make in order to change the strategy of the company regarding the Industry 4.0. All the above affect directly the productivity results without negative effects on the quality results of the analysed company.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"140 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122604267","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yet, it is unclear how different gender and age groups perceive robots in the service encounter. The present study investigates customers' perceptions toward the smiling behaviors, especially with various degrees of head tilts, of humanlike robots and humans in a service setting by comparing the perceptions of males (n=92) and females (n=121) of varying generations. A total of 10 stimuli were used with head tilt at − 20°, −10°, 0°, 10°, and 20°, in which, head tilt is considered a unique trait in smiling behavior. Findings showed that male and female customers in differing age groups had different perceptions toward the overall service quality, specifically the reliability and assurance, and overall visiting intentions, given by either the robot or human staff. Besides, customers all perceived interpersonal warmth and their customer satisfaction similarly. Finally, the findings provide insights for robotic technology and are of credible relevance regarding to technological improvements. Moreover, it contributes considerably to the tourism and hospitality industries.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130335788","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The addition of a new production line is one of the efforts made by the factory pouch pockets to be able to meet increased demand. However, the increase in the quantity of production of cement bags has not been in lined with the improvement of its quality. A large number of non-conformance products are still produced and the production cannot achieve the minimum defective bags allowed by the company. It showed that the quality of processes and products is still relatively low. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate an improvement action and a better quality control for products and process. This study begins with a proper identification of the condition of the system and then continues with a performance measurement system focusing on Lean Six Sigma and process capability measurement. The next step is to identify the sources and root cause analysis of non-conformance products by using Fishbone Diagrams and Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA). Then it proceeds with the formulation of the proposed improvement of the system based on the results. The study concluded with an improvement control plan that can be done. This study found that the sigma level of cement bag production in four production lines is 4.7 DPMO values of 710 and the possibility of defects per unit of 11 possibilities.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130321144","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each product is different in terms of materials, process and production flow. These factors affect the total material handling, but the real situation has vagueness or fuzziness in the manufacturing system, depending on the periods of time involved, products variety, and business growth. A proper machine layout reduces material handling cost. Therefore, machine layout planning involved with fuzzy method is be applied to maximum utilization of facilities available. This paper presents the application of fuzzy set theory with a genetic algorithm for the selection operator using tournament selection for solving machine layout problems in order to manage vague information. Parameters including material flow frequency and material flow volume between workstations were considered as fuzzy numbers. The results were compared with a case study in a manufacturing system. The total distances had been from 38.45 m. to 26.25 m. 31.73% distance had been shorten. Therefore, the proposed method was able to solve machine layout problems effectively. Thus, it can be an alternative method in manufacturing management.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"554 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116517886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Their programs however are typically very static and only used in pre-defined, static settings, thus they cannot deal with changing production tasks. Whenever a special problem has to be solved several times with different parametrizations, transferring simulation results to real-world applications is desirable in order to reduce the time investment necessary for program adjustments. The current paper discusses the major challenges in including powerful simulations as a tool to improve robot programs at runtime. Further, an evaluation of the Virtual Robot Experimentation Platform (V-REP) with respect to its applicability to direct robot control via simulation is presented.","PeriodicalId":341512,"journal":{"name":"2018 7th International Conference on Industrial Technology and Management (ICITM)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-03-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125665576","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
