However, despite their inherent advantages (e.g., increasing the flexibility of supply chains), feedforward controls remain underdeveloped in the pharmaceutical distribution sector, largely due to the tediousness of identifying applicable anticipatory indicators. To properly anticipate the achievement of business objectives, in our in-depth case study of a Swiss wholesale distributor of pharmaceutical products we relied on the notion of weak signals as conceptualized by Ansoff to develop a conceptual framework of feedforward. We identified a weak signal that showed more occurrences of error when less versatile employees were involved in executing tasks. This paper proposes a mathematical programming model for green supply chain design taking into consideration of both efficiency and carbon-emissions. First, a bi-objective MILP model is formulated for green supply chain design. Second, both weighted sum method and augmented £-constrained method are introduced for resolving the trade-off problem between the two objective functions. All of these factors will be demonstrated through Overall Equipment Efficiency (OEE), durability, cost effectiveness and safety of the equipment. However, most studies focus on one or a few aspects, failing to modeling their relationship. This work presents the approach of a continuous scenario-based development of an I4.0 description language for an I4.0 industrial facility. The resulting metamodel is based on the service-oriented architecture and the Internet of things methodology. For this reason, human errors causing accidents are also complicated in the system, and affected by the relationships between the structure of warship technology supportability system and its subsystems, including human, organization and environment. First, this paper analyzes the characteristics of warship technology supportability human error accidents. Based on Reason-SHEL model and complex system brittleness theory, it then analyzes the brittle basic elements in the warship technology supportability human error accident system and the type of interaction between them, and applies the set pair theory in quantitatively describing the degree of interaction between subsystems based on the brittle relationship entropy. Challenges, such as stricter environmental requirements or rising resource costs necessitate a sustainable product life cycle, as well as sustainable manufacturing processes. Hence, the focus lies on the car body development, which has a significant impact on the overall weight of a vehicle. The trend to lightweight structures promises great optimization potential; however, the increasing number of various material combinations is leading to a growing diversity of joining technologies. To date, the decision-making of the optimum technology is based on the expertise of design engineers. A standardized method for the selection of sustainable technologies does not exist. Extant literature provides mostly models focusing on economic or technological criteria. This research introduces a methodology for a sustainability-oriented decision-making for the selection of joining technologies in car body development, based on the life-cycle-assessment approach. The growth of this e-commerce creates an opportunity to use new technology and mobile applications to create valuable connections between companies and customers; which gives companies the opportunity to leverage the collective intelligence of theses online communities. This work aims to benefit from these connections to finish the last leg of delivery through the use of crowdsourcing. A pool of citizens are contracted as needed to deliver products from several lockers distributed around the city to consumers' doorsteps. Deliveries occur during a set time window for each customer taking into consideration drivers' capacity and availability time. We propose two Integer Linear programming (ILP) formulations that minimize the total reward paid to crowd-workers through optimum assignment of parcels to drivers and optimum routing for each driver. In real life, drivers can choose paths to go between the start and finish when distributing oil, and with the increase of vehicles, road blockage has become a practical trouble. Setting the lowest cost of the scheduling process as objective function and taking truck volume, demand of petrol station and unloading time windows as constraints, an optimization model of petrol truck scheduling problem is established, and a heuristic approach is proposed. In our approach, we generate path combinations randomly. Then we remove combinations which do not comply with all the constraints. After these steps, we calculate the objective function of every feasible solutions and get the best solution. A real-life example with time windows is used to testify the model. And another case with 30 stations is tested to verify that the solving time is in a reasonable range. A structural model is thus conceptualized, which is empirically validated based on the data from the Indian manufacturing sector. The structural model presented in this paper is expected to be used by the lean practitioner for effective administration and management of the lean implementation process.
