One of these strategies is teaching programming in a contextualized manner through the use of interactive graphics to provide visual aids for the easy understanding and learning of some basic programming concepts. The use of interactive graphics offers immediate feedback to students on the concepts they are learning, in an entertained and contextualized way, through their active participation through the creation of images and figures that they can manipulate. This paper discusses the experiences of the authors in the use of strategies to facilitate the learning of programming structures in a contextualized learning environment, supported by the use of interactive graphics as a means to increase their comprehension and the interest of students. The discussion includes the use of SVG graphics and two environments developed by the authors to provide contextualized learning.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122632252","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In particular, the application of the concept of educational robotics, for the teaching of the basic knowledge of programming, constitutes an interesting alternative of teaching-learning. Through this proposal, interventions were applied in the teaching methodology currently employed in SENAI-Chapecó. In this way, the student obtained the same knowledge, but in a new way, hoping that he will understand programming concepts more easily. This methodology was applied in the AI course in Computer Science in the Program Concepts discipline, where the analysis of the statistical results obtained through the Mann-Whitney test revealed that the interventions generated a statistically significant difference in the experimental group, with the mean experimental group was 26% higher in relation to the control group.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"1987 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131338890","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

From the research point of view, we aimed evaluate learning impact in web programming, by students without any previous experience in technology. From an industrial point of view, the goal was evaluating the possibility of use of framework for rapid application development as an efficient solution in real projects, focusing on productivity and code quality. The results show that novice developers are able to quickly learn the concepts and design patterns adopted in the frameworks, and after practicing them effectively in a short time. In addition to indications that this approach is more effective compared to teaching techniques that use traditional development.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130488331","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The present work uses data captured by Microsoft Kinect and organized with Lelikëlen system to find patterns in students oral presentations during a given discipline. For that, a total of 16 different features related to the records of 43 students presentations (85 observations) were used to generate clusters of students with similar behavior. Initial results indicate three main different profiles of students according to their patterns in oral presentations: active, passive, and semi-active. Such findings can be further implemented in Lelikëlen system in order to allow instant feedback to students. Future work will also evaluate how students oral presentations patterns evolve during the semester, and compare patterns of students presentations across areas to evaluate whether there are similarities or not.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"75 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132658192","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to better understand the daily practices with technologies in Brazilian K-12 Education, we analysed the content of the works that detail the teaching practices with technologies in four distinct databases, namely: SciELO, the Annals of the Workshop of Informatics in the School (WIE), the Brazilian Journal of Informatics in Education (RBIE) and the Annals of the Brazilian Symposium on Informatics in Education (SBIE), totalling 1,204 publications. It was observed that the innovative pedagogical perspectives that contemplate the protagonist student, the mediating teacher and the collaborative learning, are in reduced numbers, prevailing the description of traditional practices.","PeriodicalId":340408,"journal":{"name":"2018 XIII Latin American Conference on Learning Technologies (LACLO)","volume":"65 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-10-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132948681","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
