Abstract
This paper describes the use of framework for rapid application development as learning object for teaching Web programming. From the research point of view, we aimed evaluate learning impact in web programming, by students without any previous experience in technology. From an industrial point of view, the goal was evaluating the possibility of use of framework for rapid application development as an efficient solution in real projects, focusing on productivity and code quality. The results show that novice developers are able to quickly learn the concepts and design patterns adopted in the frameworks, and after practicing them effectively in a short time. In addition to indications that this approach is more effective compared to teaching techniques that use traditional development.
