In this paper are used features like histograms for the color components, stochastic moments, few parameters of the co-occurrences matrix and the Gabor filters decomposition. Using all of them we obtain good performance in the field of content-based image indexing and retrieval. There are some speed problems because are many features used in the search process. Here, I present an algorithm for indexing and retrieval, which use a supervised tree algorithm for speed increasing. The area of applications is very wide: multimedia documents, transaction systems, medical application.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"78 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133374620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One solution is using a warning component implemented at the server- and locally. It is presented the need of alarms (as logical combinations of threshold levels for the values read from the sensors at the local level), the approach to define and implement these in the server, and the communication of the alarm scenarios to the local computers using Web Services. Further ways to improve the “intelligent” functionalities of the system are briefly analyzed: intelligent processing of medical signals acquired (ECGs), movement and behavior analysis, context-based communication facilities, decision support, data mining functions at central level.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"921 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116190387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two pruning algorithms are proposed: one which selects the most representative generalized exemplars and the other one which simultaneously selects both relevant exemplars and relevant attributes. We are concerned with locally linear trajectories. Trajectory points are obtained from a hand feature detector. First, a tensor voting technique is used to filter the trajectory and to construct a smooth trajectory from the sparse collection of detected points. The tensor voting scheme is also in accordance with perceptual principles. Local linearity of the trajectory permits us to have a decision based on an analysis of the corresponding modes in the Radon space. A mode detector in this space allows us to find the orientation of each trajectory segment. The entire trajectory is encoded by a sequence of directions, thus, allowing a large number of possible meaningful gestures to be defined in the HCI.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115406698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In the meantime, product definition has been moved into model space. Establishment of the STEP (Standard for the Exchange of Product Model Data, ISO 10303) product model standard and it application at leading industries during 90's facilitated development of model based integrated solutions for product engineering. During the past decade, the new paradigm of product lifecycle management stimulated integrated handling of information for lifecycle of products. Product model has become a medium in communication between end users of engineering systems including humans and controlled equipment. One of the most critical elements in this scenario is communication of knowledge with product modeling processes in order to generate knowledge background of engineering object definition in product model. This paper introduces a method by the authors to extract knowledge background during definition of product objects in the form of initiated affect on product. Human thinking process is modeled by its elements during definition of intent for a change of a product. Evolving steps towards the defined object changes and the served objectives for the defined objects are recorded. Following this, process for the definition of coordinated product behaviors and affect propagation in a specific and purposeful change affect zone are explained. Finally, an extended product definition space is explained as medium in integrated product modeling using the proposed method.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115427329","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is therefore, almost natural to consider this IT infrastructure control software framework as being designed upon methods and technologies used for the design of control systems. In this paper the control system design methodology is extended to the analysis of the intrinsic properties of the autonomic system itself. Thus the controllability and observability properties of the computing process itself are defined and examined in more details. These properties are also investigated for the case of cloud services where the serial and parallel composition of these services is considered. These cloud based services are connected through cooperation protocols that define a global process dynamic. Web services are modeled as scheduled computational processes waiting in a queue to cooperate in delivering the service. This paper proposes an input-state-output mathematical model for the autonomic computing model of cloud based services and the observability and controllability are further analyzed on the above models. As an example a Kalman based control is applied to such processes and the general architecture and some simulation results are given.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126531442","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The researches conclusions mostly suggest that by taking an example of the processes that work in nature for so long can have its benefits. They proved their performance is greater then the classic approach in most fields. Basically, they were applied to optimize other processes. In this paper we will study and follow one representative of the bio-inspired algorithms, the Bee Colony Algorithm, and try to apply it in the making of the artificial player of a game, the Hexxagon game. The new concept in this approach is the way the algorithm is put to use. The algorithm will be implemented to actually take the decisions in the game play, not to improve another algorithm. The experiment results indicate a significant increase in game performance and better decisions of the artificial player.","PeriodicalId":334381,"journal":{"name":"2011 6th IEEE International Symposium on Applied Computational Intelligence and Informatics (SACI)","volume":"34 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2011-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114544354","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
