The magazine has an international editorship and is published three times a year. It is on the list of international journals ERIH PLUS and is indexed in the Digital Repository of the National Library of Serbia, MLA and CEEOL database, and the papers are archived in the repository of scientific journals in open access DOAJ.2. It is included in the A category (ANVUR) and the I category of the Reference List of Slavic magazines. Literary history is oriented towards literary-theoretical and literary-historical research, interdisciplinary works of comparative, intercultural and multimedia approach. The rubric “ TERMINOLOGICAL GUIDE” (since 2005) inherits a long tradition of literary theoretical research at the Institute for Literature and Art and is a continuation of the Dictionary of Literary Terms (ed. D. Živković, 1985). The works published in this section are primarily oriented towards literary terminology and, in a broader sense, towards literary theoretical and metascientific issues. To date, 45 concepts and terms have been processed. Contributions can be grouped within the following subcategories: 1) methodological issues; 2) terminological issues; 3) metacriticism; 4) periodization of literature; 5) geneological area. The greatest value of the works published in the “ TERMINOLOGICAL GUIDE” column is in the illumination of those literary-theoretical phenomena that have not yet had adequate elaboration or are open to new critical insights. It was conceived as a scientific description of the epoch, in a limited period of time and with a circle of partially engaged collaborators. Some of the results from this project were published (D. Vukićević, G. Maksimović, S. Milosavljević Milić, D. Bošković), and some were included in other scientific texts. Here are published instructions for creating articles about the author and his works, the structure of the processing of specifications about the author, with an example of the processing of L. K. Lazarević, K. Abrašević, M. Andrić, K. Arsenijević, B. Budisavljević, Milan Budisavljević, Draginja Gavrilović, Milovan Glišić, D. Vučenov and Vuk Karadžić considering his place in Serbian realism. And some of the most significant works of Serbian realists have separate adaptations (here L. K. Lazarević). Од тада па све до средине XX века настав- ници српског као страног језика проналазили су различите приступе и могућности како би на најлакши могући начин странцима приближили наш језик, а прва озбиљ- нија истраживања која су имала за циљ да систематизују и теоријски и практично приближе усвајање страног језика из угла наставе јавила су се педесетих година про- шлог века. Тада почињу да се пишу прве студије, расправе, радови, спроводе прва емпиријска истраживања, а пишу се и уџбеници (са радним свескама) у којима је представљен садржај који странци треба да усвоје. У таквом расположењу и духу стваране су прилике да се отварају центри – специјализовани за учење српског као страног језика, углавном при факултетима филолошке и филозофске оријентације у Србији. Тако је фебруара 2013. године основан Центар за српски као страни и нема- терњи језик на Филозофском факултету Универзитета у Нишу и тада почиње једно плодотворно раздобље у којима су наставници и сарадници имали могућности да се нађу у улози наставника српског као страног језика. Stojanović","doi":"10.46630/phm.15.2023.17","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46630/phm.15.2023.17","url":null,"abstract":"The goal of the paper is to explore Kurt Vonnegut’s novel Slaughterhouse-Five as a means of social criticism of the Vietnam War. Prior to analyzing the novel, we must establish the relation between Jean-Paul Sartre’s notion of engaged literature and Darko Suvin’s view of science fiction as an ultimate literary alibi. Contrary to previous interpretations, the novel is viewed as a comment on the author’s contemporary society rather than the distant historical period of World War II or the spacially displaced world of the Tralfamadorians. Of primary interest will be the Tralfamadorian subplot of the novel which, by presenting the Tralfamadorians as American politicians, brings to attention the lack of interest and empathy for the lives of not only those who do not belong to their race/culture, but towards American citizens. The Tralfamadorian catchphrase “so it goes” is perceived as the government’s reaction to others’ suffering during the war, as well as its habit of ignoring issues, concealing information and showing complete disregard for its soldiers. Anđelko Krstić’s literary beginnings are first and foremost closely related to the magazine Srpski književni glasnik, specifically the first series of Srpski književni glasnik. Although he published his first works in numerous magazines and newspapers, our attention is focused first on the Carigradski glasnik, and then we focus on the period when Anđelko Krstić asserted himself as a writer, more precisely when literary criticism recognized the value of his work, which happens in moments when Krstić publishes his four short stories in Srpski književni glasnik: Večito dužni (1911), Seoski pismonoša (1912), Pečalbarova žena (1913), Pokojni Alija, lular (1914). Куртеш","doi":"10.46630/phm.15.2023.06","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46630/phm.15.2023.06","url":null,"abstract":"The paper analyses the prose From a Diary by Velimir Rajić (1879-1915), which was published as a short story in Srpski književni glasnik (Serbian Literary Gazette) in the issues of May 16 and June 1 and 16, 1904, and then in 1908, along with poems from the first and only collection Pesme i proza (Poems and Prose). Problematizing the issue of the genre of the mentioned text, it is also pointed out that the introductory chapters of the diary were “added” and written by the literary critic Pavle Popović, who read the manuscript in its original form. Also, the paper analyses the coincidences of individual episodes from diary entries with the biography of their author. Rajić’s reflections on illness and unrequited love correspond to the real life of the poet. Momčilović","doi":"10.46630/phm.15.2023.35","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.46630/phm.15.2023.35","url":null,"abstract":"This paper reports on the motivation for enrolment and the students’ attitudes at the Faculty of Philosophy in Niš regarding the German language and literature study programme. The aim of the research was obtaining concrete data which will serve as the basis for its improvement. An anonymous survey was conducted from June to September 2021. The research sample included 55 students in the first, second and third year. Based on the obtained results, it can be concluded that among all the surveyed students intrinsic motivation predominates as regards the choice of the German language and literature study programme. As indicated in the findings, the interest in the German language and their desire to master it well were at the top of the list of motivating factors. Half of the students enrolled in their studies in order to work as German language teachers. The students’ suggestions indicate the need to introduce more professional translation and practice in presentation and public speaking skills. Избор наслова којим се земља зазива заједно са небесима од нас међутим, захтева, да се у уводној речи о књизи нешто другачијим тоном одре- димо према њој. На комплетну структуру књиге сам назив, наиме, делује као зајед- нички именитељ целокупног животног ангажовања, плодотворног рада и идејних начела личности представљених у њој, подједнако успешно остварених у различи- тим књижевним и некњижевним жанровима, у културном животу српског народа и у историји Српске православне цркве. Зато смо и овај кратак приказ садржаја књиге започели речима о земаљском које ,,веже душу с небом / како луча с сунцем капљицу”, преузетим од игумана Стефана – највећег међу ликовима духовника у целокупној српској књижевности, истинског духовног ослонца сународницима и идејног темеља читавог Горског вијенца. М. Сарайлии, поэта и фольклориста.
