The charter traffic was analyzed in relation to air carriers and airports. The change of preferences in the choice of final destination during the last 10 years was also indicated. Based on the shown conditions, the main goal and the research hypothesis were defined. The purpose of the article is to analyze the market and determine the factors influencing the development of charter flights in Poland. In this article theresearch hypothesis that it is avery dynamic market, which depends on many factors, above all on the level of wealth of the society and factors related to safety in holiday resorts was proven. This last aspect has in particular great impact on the offer of charter carriers. Based on the research and analysis carried out (using methods of analysis and logical and statistical constructs) factors shaping demand for tourist services in the air transport segment were determined, and in consequence it leads to the diagnosis of the behavior of charter carriers operating in Poland. Undoubtedly, this issue should be subjected to a thorough analysis in subsequent research works.","PeriodicalId":32605,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of the University of Gdansk Transport Economics and Logistics","volume":"24 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"75275841","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As a result, real transformation takes place in this sector, leading to the formation of Mobility 4.0 and Transport 4.0, and – closely related – Transport System 4.0. One of such new phenomena and trends in this area is Mobility as a Service (MaaS). The key principle – the heart of MaaS is to provide everyone who is the user – member of that integrated system, with mobility, offered as a single, comprehensive and integrated service. That creates the ability to carry out any transport, while maintaining flexibility to change course – if necessary – even while moving. \u0000In the case of freight transport in the situation of implementing Mobility as a Service, the contracting – participating party will get a much greater than presently personalized option – an optimized match in the selection of its various needs and requirements of the transport service available to it. The four underlying factors considered here will be the following variables: individualization, flexibility, cost and time. \u0000The article is dedicated to the implementation of the idea – MaaS concept in freight transport – and the benefits resulting from that implementation for all parties included in the process described above.","PeriodicalId":32605,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of the University of Gdansk Transport Economics and Logistics","volume":"22 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85182510","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Different progress has been made in different countries in these fields. The paper analyzes current trends of the development of e-mobility on-demand services (car-sharing, bike-sharing, scooter-sharing, and kick scooter-sharing) in six selected CEE countries (Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Lithuania, Ukraine, and Belarus). Identification of the main barriers and opportunities for further growth required a review the key components of national e-mobility systems, such as: demand and supply on the electric car market, charging infrastructure development, as well as available instruments supporting e-mobility. A number of absolute and relative indicators were used. The analysis confirmed that Poland and other CEE countries are still at the beginning phase of the e-mobility development. Although Poland is the leader in the CEE region in terms of the development of e-mobility on-demand services, a low charging infrastructure availability is one of the barriers of car-sharing development. Economic effectiveness of the providers’ activities will be the main challenge in the coming years.","PeriodicalId":32605,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of the University of Gdansk Transport Economics and Logistics","volume":"11 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-02-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"88716713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Achieving the goals of sustainable mobility requires taking into account differences in transport behavior and preferences characterizing residents from different areas of the agglomeration. Analyzing differences in behaviors and preferences, the possibilities and limitations resulting from the mass character of public transport services and the fact that the main determinant of the offer is the space determined by displacements in the source-target relation should be taken into account. This article identifies differences in transport behavior and preferences of residents based on the center and suburbs of the Gdańsk agglomeration. At the same time, a preliminary attempt was made to explain the causes of specific differences in residents’ behavior and transport preferences, taking into account the limited volume ofpublication. The share of public transport in the implementation of travel decreases with the distance of the area of   residence from the center of the agglomeration. The increase in the share of rail transport in travel affects the increase in the importance of waiting time and the lack of change as a decisive factor in the selection of cars in trips. Transport preferences are strongly diversified in individual areas. Differences are noticeable even in the center areas constituting separate administrative units.","PeriodicalId":32605,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of the University of Gdansk Transport Economics and Logistics","volume":"42 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85772650","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article presents the main assumptions and principles of both models, based on the literature review and the results of research on similarities and discrepancies that take place in practice on the example of two metropolises: West Yorkshire in the United Kingdom and the metropolis of the Gulf of Gdańsk in Poland. When making comparisons, organizational structures appearing on the market, organizers’ and operators’ tasks, ownership forms of organizers and operators, operators’ shares in the transport services market, tariff and ticket solutions as well as the scope of concessions for free and reduced journeys were taken into account. Particular attention was paid tothe integration of transport services of individual organizers, focusing onthe influence of the level of integration on the quality of transport services. In the further part of the article, issues requiring discussion in the light of the presented research results were pointed out and a summary of the substantive considerations was carried out within its framework. It was also stated that theresearch hypothesis was proved, according to which the deregulated and regulated transport models show in practice more similarities than discrepancies.","PeriodicalId":32605,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of the University of Gdansk Transport Economics and Logistics","volume":"16 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"89133194","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the economy develops, demand for air freight is on the rise. Because of infrastructure insufficiencies, Polish airports rely on air cargo road feeder services (RFS). The aim of this paper is to analyze air freight transportation in Poland and to forecast air cargo traffic for the Chopin Airport in Warsaw for the years 2018 and 2019 using trend models. The data published by the Polish Civil Aviation Authority for the 2013–2017 period were applied. The analysis shows that thetransport accessibility of the Warsaw Airport significantly affects its overall passenger and cargo traffic. As the forecast suggests, the volume of cargo shipped by air through the Warsaw Airport will assume an upward trend.","PeriodicalId":32605,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of the University of Gdansk Transport Economics and Logistics","volume":"18 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78426715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with the dynamic development of the industry, branch and its infrastructure, the area around airports is becoming a place of concentration of diversified commercial activity-economic, investment, business, cultural etc. The vicinity of airports, airport-related zones, especially in the immediate vicinity, are convenient roundabouts are convenient locations for commercial (business) parks due to high availability of air transport, supply of land for investment and infrastructure investment for these areas. They are managed from the level of airports as part of their non-aeronautical activities or by entities independent of the airport. The strength of these locations is demonstrated by the activities of airport managers, investors and local government officials whose goal is to attract foreign companies (users of modern real estate in so-called airport towns). The aim of the article is to analyze the development processes of these functional space structures, including those related to the Gdańsk Lech Walesa Airport. In the first part of the work, there are discussed: the genesis of the model and the possible technical-technological and organizational solutions in the field of tram-train system operation. There have been also identified: the barriers that obstruct the full integration of typical tram and railway systems, taking into account legislative, organizational and technical conditions. The second part of the article is devoted to the analysis of preliminary projects for the implementation of the tram-train system in selected Polish cities. The analysis was preceded by a short systematization of examples of historical solutions combining rail and tram transport systems. The proposals for the application of the Karlsruhe model quoted in the paper, showed that there is a relatively low level of advancement of this model and it is not included in the overall transport policy of the discussed cities. Actions that aimed at improving and increasing the attractiveness of tram transport are focused on the development of the classical system.","PeriodicalId":32605,"journal":{"name":"Research Journal of the University of Gdansk Transport Economics and Logistics","volume":"25 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-09-17","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"78095790","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
