Apart from the traditional elements, the behaviour of the people having contact with the passengers, i.e. the drivers, matters a lot. Currently, the ethical aspects of the professional drivers’ work have a growing significance. Therefore it seems appropriate to review the determinants of the behaviour of this group. It has been assumed that these determinants depend both on the driver himself and on his work environment. Biogas plants are small-scale energy plants, facing numerous risks in daily operations. Production of biogas may cause danger for life and health by suffocation or poisoning due to presence of hydrogen sulphide (H2 S) and explosion of reactor. The current literature study revealed that there are no universal and comprehensive management tools designed only for biogas plants for risk management. Therefore, the aim of this paper is application of new ISO 31000:2018 on risk management in biogas plants. For this, three crucial technical criteria: Organic loading rate (OLR), Hydraulic retention time (HRT) and Technical performance of a biogas plant were taken into account. These criteria have been analysed to present how the methodology of risk management norm can be applied in any other area. On the other hand, the marine ports significantly affect the supply of cargo mass imposed on the inland waterways. In Poland the inland waterways transport plays a significant role only in the handling of transport needs of the ports Szczecin-Świnoujście. This mode of transport is not used for the cargo transport in the relations with Gdańsk marine port, even though this port is located at the estuary of lower Vistula waterway. Safety is one of the key factors which affect the attractiveness of the railway transport, both in regards to the transport of goods and passengers. It is dependent among others on the infrastructure of this transport mode, as the condition of the infrastructure and its parts affects not only the time and comfort of the passengers but also the safety levels of the railway transport. The goal of the article is to analyse how the transport infrastructure affects the safety of the passengers, to characterise the threats and to show the changing trends which lead to the increase of railway transport carriage. The state of transport infrastructure – its structure, connections with other countries, technical specification and the quality of particular infrastructure parts are dependent, among others, on the expenditure volume on transport infrastructure and their modal structure. The goal of the article is to present the diversity of transport infrastructure expenditures in different countries and periods and to analyse the relations between the transport infrastructure expenditures and the regional competitiveness. Rolbiecki, Dorota Książkiewicz","doi":"10.26881/ETIL.2018.77.11","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.26881/ETIL.2018.77.11","url":null,"abstract":"In Poland, the major share of operational costs of a road carrier constitute of fuel costs, costs of outsourced services and remunerations. The mentioned cost groups together contribute to over 80% of the prime costs. As a result, these costs have a major influence on the performance of Polish road carriers. As research results show, the financial situation of the road carriers in Poland is poor. On average, the return on sales in road transport services reaches the level of 1.5–3.0%, and in case of international road transport services it amounts to 5%. In terms of acknowledged standard sit is merely a sufficient level of return. Such a motion has been proposed, in order to increase the road safety. The new class of tachographs, ie. the smart tachographs are supposed to be fitted with a GNSS device ensuring a constant monitoring of the vehicle’s speed and other parameters but also a transmitter which should allow to send data in real time without the necessity to download the data manually. However, such a vast process will generate severe costs for the Member States’ administration but also for private companies which will need to handle the cost of fitting the device in their vehicles.
