In this paper, execution of optical binary to gray code converter with the aid of Ex-OR gate is proposed. The mechanism of co-propagating MZI configuration which holds SOA symmetrically in both arms is opted to design Ex-OR gate. The two nonlinearity property XGM and XPM of SOA is exploited to obtain the Ex-OR gate logic output. The STS is modeled in fractional order and is approximated to an integer order by using oustaloup's approximation algorithm. The higher order integer system is reduced to a 2nd order by using Balanced Truncation (BT) method. The PID controller is designed for this reduced order model and the parameters of the PID controller are primarily tuned via trial and error (T&E) method and afterward these parameters are optimized using Grey Wolf Optimizer (GWO). The proposed antenna covers ISM/WLAN (2.45 GHz), WiMAX (3.5 GHz) and fixed mobile (4.65 GHz) frequency bands. The number of frequency bands of the antenna is increased from one (with centre frequency of 2.45 GHz) to three (having centre frequencies of 2.45, 3.5 and 4.65 GHz) corresponding to ISM/WLAN, WiMAX and fixed mobile services by introducing two rectangular slots along the radiating edges and a parasitic element to the feed line. A superstrate is placed above the antenna at optimum distance to increase the gain of the combination. The simulated input characteristics, radiation pattern and gain of the antenna over the frequency range of interest are compared with the respective experimental results. Modeling equations of conventional and `loss model' have been presented. Field oriented control strategy with conventional zero d-axis current control has been used to control the PMSM so as to compare the conventional and `loss model' of PMSM through detailed computer simulations. However, due to variable nature of wind speed, it is difficult to supply constant power demands. In this paper, a hybrid energy generation using combination of wind turbine driven generator and Permanent Magnet Synchronous Generator (PMSG) driven by microturbine has been proposed, which is quite effective in supplying constant power loads. The two generation systems have been interfaced by power electronic interface. Different parameters have been evaluated for climatic condition of Indian Institute of Technology, New Delhi (28_350N, 77_120E, 216 m above MSL), India. For the analysis solar radiation and ambient air temperature have been taken from IMD (Indian Meteorological Department) Pune. Further thermal modelling has been done for the PVT greenhouse dryer and different parameter like crop temperature, greenhouse temperature, outlet air temperature and cell temperature have been calculated with variation of packing factor of PV module by the help of MATLAB program. Further effect of packing factor on thermal energy, electrical energy, overall thermal energy, cell efficiency have been evaluated. Proposed speed identification method uses reactive power as tuning signal for estimating the speed. In conventional MRAS methods, reference and adaptive model suffer from the integral problem and are sensitive to temperature variation of machine parameters. Thus, reducing the accuracy of speed estimator especially at low speeds. The proposed method can produce fast speed estimation, easy to implement, free from integrator and is robust to variations in the parameter error giving improved performance for speed sensor less control of induction motor drive over wide speed range including low speeds. Also, indirect field oriented control involve feed forward adjustment of the slip frequency which is dependent upon varying rotor time constant and may distort the field orientation if not compensated. Therefore online identification of rotor flux MRAS based rotor time constant is proposed along with speed identification. The output voltage of PVA is increased deploying a boost converter. The output of boost converter is fed to a SVPWM controlled inverter which supplies three phase ac to an induction motor. The investigation unravels the advantage of using PID controller with closed loop converters. This paper presents design and implementation of a new architecture of wavelet filter for power system harmonics estimation using discrete wavelet packet transform (DWPT). Usually, DWPT provides coefficients as the output, however, the proposed architecture also includes provision for providing rms values directly. The proposed method reduces computational requirements and save memory resources. Xilinx system generator, a higher abstraction level tool, has been used to simulate and implement the proposed scheme on the Xilinx Artix-7 FPGA AC-701 board. Indian grid is fourth biggest in the world, transferring power using five regional grids. Due to, deregulation, competitive electricity market, expansion of transmission and distribution network, reliable electricity supply, increased applications of power electronics make the India power system more complex. Thus, forcing power system to operate closer to their limits and to utilize the existing assets more efficiently. The process of making national grid of more than 250GW capacity is also underway. For decades, traditional SCADA measurements have been providing the power system steady state information. However, monitoring, operate and control of such large power system Grid only steady state information may not be sufficient. Synchrophasor measurement technology (Wide area measurement technology) is a new term, which provides dynamic view of the grid. In order to achieve the goal of Electricity to all, Ministry of power, Government of India initiated and supported various smart grid projects. The installation of phasor measurement unit (PMU) based wide area measurement system (WAMS) is one of such major initiative.
