The STATCOM is employed with a three phase voltage source inverter (VSI) and dc capacitor. The design of the control model involves pole-zero cancellation and frequency domain analysis using root-locus method to obtain the parameters for the controller proposed. The quadrature axis current has been forced to be zero so that the source would be supplying only the real power to the load side. The transfer function for both of the loop has been formulized and the tuning of the controllers has been done with the help of modulus optimum and symmetrical optimum criteria to obtain the stable response.","PeriodicalId":322442,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical Electronics & Sustainable Energy Systems (ICETEESES)","volume":"185 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123720959","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The speed of SRM drive is regulated by changing the DC link voltage of a mid-point converter which depends upon the insolation levels. Moreover, the SRM drive is operated with fundamental switching which helps to minimized switching losses in a mid-point converter and increases the efficiency of proposed water pumping system. A switched capacitor buck-boost converter is operated in continuous conduction mode (CCM) to lowering the ringing effect of inductors and stress on switched capacitor buck-boost converter parameters. The renewable energy sources such as the solar and wind offers clean, green and abundant energy. As the power demand increasing the power failure also increases so that the renewable energy can be used to provide the constant load demand continuously. Due to environmental condition PV array is influenced and conversion efficiency becomes low. So a maximum power tracking known as MPPT technique is needed to detect the peak power in order maximize the energy produced. In this paper the development of PV array model, their integration & Simulink implementation are described. MPPT control is beneficial to ensure the output of PV power generation system at the maximum possible power output level. This system consist solar array, IGBT inverter. Perturbation and observation (P&O) method is the most frequently used method for MPPT, however, with smaller step size system taking long time to track MPP, with larger step size operating point oscillation is more in steady state. These obstacles are minimized by using variable step size with fuzzy based MPPT controller. In this research work, a Fuzzy Logic Controller (FLC) based P&O MPPT has been designed for optimal performance. The proposed method adjusts the step size in P&O method to provide faster and accurate convergence at peak power point. The input reference voltage is perturbed adaptively with optimal steps until the maximum power is reached. For evaluation, FLC based MPPT technique is simulated on MATLAB/ Simulink environment and compared with the conventional P&O technique. Results clearly show that proposed technique is able to track maximum output power with less settling time, reduced oscillations at steady state and enhance the operating point convergence speed.","PeriodicalId":322442,"journal":{"name":"2016 International Conference on Emerging Trends in Electrical Electronics & Sustainable Energy Systems (ICETEESES)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-03-11","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128355036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The NMP system shows the undershoot behavior because of having zeros in the right half plane and the response becomes sluggish as the time delay increases. For improving the performance of the NMP system an optimized FOPID controller is designed. The parameters of FOPID are optimized using Nelder's and Mead (NM) optimization Algorithm. NM-optimization seeks to obtain the best optimal values of the FOPID controller in the region. The parameters are optimized on the basis of minimizing the integral absolute error (IAE) of the system.
