The land, army, and judicial system were targeted as crucial parts of the Republika Srpska’s statehood, as confirmed in the 1995 Dayton Peace Agreement. All seizures of Srpska’s competencies were carried out in violation of the peace agreement and the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as basic international law norms and egregious abuses of democratic procedures. Western countries have treated Bosnia and Herzegovina as a lawless zone, subordinating its democratically elected bodies and institutions to their own will, embodied in the form of “High Representative” or “Supervisor” in the Brcko Municipality. The state of lawlessness and the principle of the “right of the stronger,” according to which the High Representative had the authority to pass and repeal laws, remove democratically elected officials, and prohibit different people from engaging in politics, provided a framework within which elements of the Republika Srpska’s statehood could be abolished against its citizens’ will","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"60 5","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114123836","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On the front side of the Holy doors, the iconographer Longin painted the Annunciation. The figures of the Saint King Stefan of Decani and Saint Nicholas are painted on the back of the Holy doors, whose authorship is the subject of this paper. Mirjana Ćorović Ljubinković and most of the experts at the time attributed this painting to Antonije. In 2005, the theory mentioned above has been called into question, and these scenes, without further analysis and evidence, were attributed to Longin. The question of the authorship of the back of the Holy door required complex research that has not been accomplished so far. By analyzing the artistic language of this painting, it can be concluded that it is not Longin’s work and that it has a different author’s writing, and a different style. Under the influence of Cretan art, this painting approaches the Peć school, to which Longin belongs to. By analogy with the characteristics of the carving of the Holy doors, and the other pair of Antonije’s Holy doors in Peć, and by comparing the ducts of the letters, it can be assumed that the author is Antonije. Thus, the former theory of Mirjana Ćorović Ljubinković and her like-minded scholars about Antonije’s authorship proved to be well-founded and withstood the test.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114689051","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Josip Broz left a country that was in a difficult economic situation, which gave a rise of serious tensions on a national foundation. The Yugoslav South had a special place in this crisis phenomena. As the poorest region in the Federal State the South was the scene of the clash between Albanians and Serbs, which escalated radically after Tito’s death. The Albanian riot (1981) demonstrated that coexistence between the two nations in one state/republic was impossible. The Nationalism of the both sides provided the necessary conditions for the appearance of Slobodan Milosevic in the Yugoslav political life. Exactly in the social and political problems of the Yugoslav South Milosevic found the arguments for his own presence on the grand Yugoslav stage as a hope of the Serbs for the restoration of justice in SFRY as they understood it.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"53 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123363033","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Comparing the dominant narratives from the period that preceded the great world wars, but also the conflicts in the former Yugoslavia during the nineties of the last century, they point to the ethnic contempt and ideological labeling by which the Serbian side was stigmatized for decades, with no chance to hear its side of the truth. The framing of propaganda matrixes served the purpose of obtaining legitimacy for the political actions that followed, and under the guise of crushing “Greater Serbian hegemony” Serbia was repeatedly bombed, with open attempts to subjugate it militarily and economically. Ideas about the “solution” of the Serbian question and the “supplementary economic space” have been woven into the geopolitical program of the German elite since the Berlin Congress, but only in the current reality do they openly indicate the strategic goals of expanding the military presence and the dominance of economic interests.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"61 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125376629","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Childhood spent in poverty, not completed high school education in Belgrade, various jobs at government along with all the transfers, dismissals, complaints, and commendation were some of the milestones in his rich career. Despite all the difficulties, Gavrilo Nikolić managed to gain recognition in a political party that gathered the intellectual and social elite. He managed to gain recognition in the National Assembly as well, above all due to his strong advocacy in serving the interests of the constituents. Over the period of the First and the Second World War and despite all his efforts, he suffered misfortunes and losses both of the closest family members and his personal wealth. His wife Magdalena Nikolić was shot to death for taking active part in Toplica uprising. This brought her the reputation of being a courageous patriot who acted in a most humane way, which further motivated Nikolić acting as a member of the Survey Committee of the National Assembly to investigate circumstances that led to the uprising, as well as its course and consequences. His career as an entrepreneur was at its peak in between wars when he managed to establish himself as a capable and inventive explorer in the field of mining. He is the most responsible for mine Lece discovery and development. Nevertheless, social changes that happened after the Second World War led to the loss of his personal wealth. He spent his final years living secluded life reconciling with everything that was brought upon him.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"12 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122457792","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Speaking about the sources important for the study of Leskovac and its surroundings, we can say that they represent a fertile and very diverse material and we can categorize them into travel reports, travel diaries, chronicles, epistles, dictionaries and lists. Their charm is all the greater because they are written in different European languages. The largest number of sources are in the Latin language, while a certain number of sources were written and published in other Romance languages, such as French, Spanish, Portuguese, as well as in varieties of the Old Italian language. It was built during the time of King Aleksandar Obrenović as part of an important defensive belt in the border area towards Bulgaria. It is very well preserved. It is a fortunate circumstance that the fortress “Šanac” was never used in war. The bunker complex made of hewn stone was built on the Jeremija hill above the villages of Donje Striževac and Donje Krnjino near Babušnica. It consists of 10 bunkers in a row with a central entrance gate that leads to the central part of the complex where they are located, 4 more independent bunkers/warehouses are individually arranged. This central part is reinforced with a double ring of earth trenches. On the front side, in front of a row of ten bunkers, a defensive stone wall was built, oriented towards Bela Palanka. The defense system around Pirot, better known as the “Pirot Fortified Camp” for possible defense against a Bulgarian attack, was created at the end of the 19th century. It consisted of the localities “Jarčar”, “Božurata”, “Nišava Valley”, “Šabanov Trap”, “Crni Vrh”, and “Jeremija”, which was established as an immovable cultural asset-cultural monument, and the Institute for the protection cultural monuments in Nis is territorially responsible for its protection. Therefore, it is quite clear that the recent history of the Serbian people cannot be properly understood without first understanding the development path of the Serbian press. Many well-known scientists and historians - Stojan Novaković, Jovan Skerlić, Dušan Vuksan, Svetislav Šumarević, Vuk Dragović, Mihajlo Bjelica, Vasilije Krestić, as well as numerous researchers gathered at the Institute of Journalism and the Association of Journalists of Serbia - have dealt with this topic in the past. Nevertheless, it is interesting that there are not enough works published in the south of central Serbia, in Nis and its surrounding areas, which deal with analyzing and processing, and even less with synthesizing collected data about the press in this part of Serbia. Some of the most important names that marked the research of the press development in this city are Živojin Dačić, Jovan Skerlić, Jeremija Živanović, Bruna Lovrić, Vladimir Nikolić, Mihajlo Paligorić, Ivan Vučković and Dragoljub Mirčetić. While this paper does not claim to cover the entirety of material related to the development of the Nis press, but it may act as an incentive for young researchers to begin to analyze the data that can be obtained. At the same time, we will try to shed light on one of the darkest periods in Nis’s history, namely the period of Bulgarian and German occupation in the First and Second World Wars.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123817844","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

He was reserve officer of the Yugoslav Army, and during the Second World war one of the prominent commanders of the Royalist resistance movement since 1941 until the very end in late 1945, commanding the Guards unit of the JVuO. It was the author’s contribution on the trial where Kalabic rehabilitation was debated. The process was held during the period between 2014 and 2022 in Valjevo regional court. Parts of this article was read by the author in front of the Valjevo court in his third appearance during the part of the process where a conclusion was drawn upon the request of the defence and state attorney. The article on Kalabic was written based on the author research in the Military Archive and Archive of Yugoslavia, both in Belgrade, concerning the Kalabic’s wartime biography. The special attention was given to the accusations on Kalabic’s behaviour gathered in 1945, during the field research of the State commission that assembled the testimonies on the crimes of the occupying forces and other warring parties during the Second World War in occupied Serbia. The post – war capture of the Kalabic and his role in the capturing of General Mihailovic in spring 1946, was also described in the article, based upon the documents that were held in Serbian State Security. Author had a chance to research those documents during the 2009, as the member of the state commission which investigated fate of General Mihailovic capture, trial and execution. Those documents confirm Kalabic’s key role in the operation run by the Yugoslav security service which led to capture of the General Mihailovic in mid- March 1946.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116332783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
