In particular, the focus shall be on the process of the downfall of the regime established by the Croatian Peasant Party in the Banate of Croatia, which resulted from the persecution of Serbs and other non-Croat population and concurrent conflicts within the Croatian national movement. Special attention shall also be paid to the repressive measures taken by the Croatian Peasant Party regime against the Serbian population, whose sufferings were a prelude to the genocide that the Ustashe regime eventually perpetrated against the Serbs in the Independent State of Croatia (NDH) during the World War 2.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123908867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The action of Serbian political emigration against Socialist Yugoslavia was a chronic problem in the relations between the two countries. In the first half of this decade, during the terms of Presidents Nixon and Ford, the U.S. didn’t show understanding for the Yugoslav demands to prevent the acting of this emigration on American soil. With the arrival of the Carter administration in the second half of the 70s, the attitude towards this problem changed. In order to further improve cooperation with Yugoslavia, the U.S.A. approached solving this complex issue with more determination. The result of scientific research in this paper shows that at the end of the 1970s, there was a change in the policy of the American administration towards Serbian political emigration in America.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"26 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116269365","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Occupied Serbia, in addition to ongoing problems that tormented the local population, also encountered a large number of refugees who came from the territory of the Independent State of Croatia, from Slovenia, Macedonia, and the Kosovo-Metohija region. In Serbia, in addition to the terror carried out by the occupier, a civil war was also simmering, while the population faced various restrictions, repressions and food shortages. In such conditions, it was necessary to organize the reception of exiled Serbs and Slovenes and ensure their survival in occupied Serbia. Within the limits of its capabilities, the Commissariat helped refugees and immigrants, taking care of their reception among the local population. The meaningfulness of the actions of the newly formed organization is also visible in the resettlement of refugees, considering their occupation and education, so intellectuals are placed in cities, while peasants are placed in smaller towns and villages. The number of refugees in certain places was difficult to control, due to illegal migration to Serbia and the aspiration of refugees and resettled persons to larger cities due to better employment opportunities. When accommodating Slovenian immigrants, care was also taken to continue the children’s education and their participation in food production. In order to make it easier to get a job, retraining courses were held, while some families of Slovenians successfully started production, and with their earnings helped the refugee colonies in the town. Bearing in mind the above, the integration of Slovenian refugees among the Serbian population should be a reason for pride for the Serbian people, who welcomed unfortunate Slovenians into their homes and shared with them everything that was necessary for life in occupied Serbia.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133143655","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several banks were gounded in Niš, as one of the larger cities, and one of them was the Traffic Bank of Niš, which was founded in 1920. The management of this bank consested mostly og merchants, craftsmen and industialists.From the very beginning, this bank has shown interest in jobs thar were in the field of industry. Its rented forest for felling, invested in a turner, but the main preoccupation was the leather facrory that this bank built in Niška Banja at the end of 1922. The bank confirmed its orientation towards industrial affairs by changing its name in 1923 to the Industrial-traffic Bank of Niš.However, investing in the factory almost all the funds at the disposal of the bank, whether it was its own someone else’s, made it impossible for the Industrial-traffic Bank not only to deal with banking, but also exhausted all possibilities for providing working capital, so the factory did not have funds to procure enough raw materials to keep working and thus its was not able to return the money invested in it.The members of the management managed this company unprofessionally, and major malversations were noticed, which made it impossible for the facrory to work properly, at least to some extent. The bank invested all its funcs in the facrory, which made it unable to deal with banking. The lack of working capital made the factory stop working at the beginning of 1925, and the Industrial-traffic Bank of Niš went bankrupt in the middle of the same year.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126105187","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The second part analyzes the Serbian disintegration in the SFRY. With the disintegration of the SFRY, one issue particularly affected the Serbs, actually the parts of the Serbian people who lived in the former Yugoslav republics. The unconstitutional, violent separatist political movements in Slovenia, Croatia, BiH, Montenegro and the self-proclaimed NATO states of Kosovo and Metohija had to confront the Serbs who remained in these newly created states with a choice: be committed to national integration or remain loyal to the new national separatist authorities? The issue of treason as the ultimate form of national disintegration is considered. In the third part, the basic causes of national disintegration in the Serbian people during the 6th century are pointed out.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114194854","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Epigraph and archeological evidence of worship of Mithra was recorded in all provinces of this huge Empire on three continents. Cult monuments were discovered in that way even on the territory of modern south Serbia, i.e. parts of the Roman provinces Upper Moesia and Thrace. This paper describes six such monuments: two votive altars with inscriptions from Osmakovo near Pirot and Ravna and four relief icons capturing tauroctonia from Ragodeš and Rasnica near Pirot, Ražanj near Aleksinac and Mramor near Niš. The aim of the paper is to emphasise certain historical circumstances of the growth of Mithraism in south Serbia taking the analyses of these monumetns into consideration. This region is seen as favorable for the spread of this eastern religion for numerous reasons. It is a rich mine region, the intersection of many imporant Roman roads on the Balkans and the main camp of some military units. All these circumstances resulted in the significant presence of the cult of Mithra. The period of the growth of Mithraism stretches from the middle of the 2nd century to the middle of the 3rd century, which is clearly confirmed by epighraph vows. The iconographic analysis of relief stones reveals that they belong to the Danube type and that Mithraism reaches south Serbia from lower Podunavlje through the Roman limes on the river. The lower frieze with side scenes from the Mithra cult legend points to the religious centres in Dacia as models in making the icons.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121339771","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The historical research, almost without exception, begins with consulting and studying archival materials.In the State Archives of the Republic of North Macedonia in Skopje, there are two files relating to Milivoj Trbich, a member of the Ravna Gora Movement.The first file is the Trbich’s dossier, which was compiled by the State Security Service of the Socialist Republic of Macedonia. The dossier was a result of the successfully completed operation of the Administration of State Security to find and arrest Trbich on January 16, 1947. The dossier consists of 56 documents, 11 photographs and two materials with propaganda content of the Ravna Gora Movement in Macedonia. Most of the documents were prepared by the Administration of State Security of the People’s Republic of Macedonia.The second file is the dossier that was created as a result of the conducted court trial against Trbich and against five other persons from June 11 to June 13, 1947. The court trial was held in the District Court in Skopje. This dossier contains 119 documents. In historiography, the eastern crisis encompasses a somewhat wider chronological framework, and its beginnings are related to the uprising in the village of Krekovi, near Nevesinje, on July 9, 1875. In a short time, the uprising spread to Bosnia, and then to the Macedonian, Bulgarian and Kosovo territories. Taking into account the fact that this issue has attracted a lot of attention from the European public, the subject of this paper is the reports and announcements of the foreign press about the beginning of the Great Eastern Crisis, which “Srpske Novine” published in parts or in whole during July 1875. Due to the relatively fast flow of information and the use of telegraph services, the press was, at that time, an extremely important source. Based on the offered foreign reports and announcements, which were published almost daily by “Srpske Novine”, we analyzed the first conflicts in Herzegovina, in July 1875, in order to bring closer the way in which the appearance of the uprising was interpreted on the pages of the European press.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"89 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125007711","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prizren was one of the few cities in Kosovo and Metohija (there were also Peć, Priština and Kosovska Mitrovica). It had a hydroelectric power plant, a slaughterhouse, markets, water supply and sewerage, schools, reading rooms, a public bath and a customs office building. The state built the Gymnasium, the District Court and the Nursery. The Tetovo-Prizren road was very important, telephone and telegraph communications were developed, and Šar planina was a tourist attraction. In Prizren, most of the inhabitants were engaged in industry, primarily milling because agriculture was an important branch of the economy. It had developed trade and crafts, although these branches declined due to the development of industry and its products. Educational and health conditions were not adequate as in all parts of Kosovo and Metohija, but Prizren stood out for the seminary and the hospital with the largest number of buildings. Also, Prizren was an important geostrategic point and political economic center. In the years before the Second World War, Prizren and its surroundings began to decline due to the closing of the border with Albania, but Prizren still remained a symbol of the imperial city with a special mentality that sets it apart from other cities in all of Serbia.","PeriodicalId":321485,"journal":{"name":"Leskovački zbornik","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127447193","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
