In a few years, a lot of infotainment features, which rely on the mobile network, will be offered to users. The majority of them are dependent on the mobile network Quality of Service (QoS). While in motion, one can expect different QoS levels which can impact the functionality of infotainment systems and the overall user experience. In this paper, we provide a proposal for a context-aware mobile network QoS prediction module that is ready for in-vehicle application. The main goal of this module is to use the predicted parameters to influence the operation of the in-vehicle infotainment to ensure a better user experience.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131063873","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In order to increase the efficiency of programmers and software architects, the tools for code complexity visualization and analysis are being constantly developed and used. However, existing solutions are usually developed for a specific purpose and are often not sufficiently automated so they cannot be easily adapted to certain requirements in automotive software development. The tool for code complexity visualization presented in this paper is based on data obtained from software documentation and data from the corresponding map file obtained by the program build process. The tool displays the structure of software documentation and map file in form of graphs with appropriate nodes representing certain software components like modules. Since one graph is derived from program documentation and the other from the generated map file, the tool allows the comparison of graphs and an indication of potential differences between documentation and actual implementation. This way the tool can help in debugging process of complex automotive software. The functionalities of the tool are shown in three examples that represent possible use case scenarios.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"59 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117315635","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, lock-in time is considered as one of the most important attributes for which a high-performance CP design always remains as an open challenge for potential application in high-speed mobile communication. This article explores an Operational Amplifier (Op-amp) based optimal gate count CP designed for 90nm CMOS using CADENCE Virtuoso platform at a supply voltage of 1.2Volt to burn as small as 226uW of power. The measured phase noise and reference spur are -117.3 dBc/Hz and -113.8 dBc/Hz at an offset frequency of 10MHz. The reported locking time of 9.15ns only with a current mismatch of 0.22% makes it competent enough for PLL driven communication modules.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124129670","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A significant number of these applications (i.e., video streaming and games) are communicating with a centralized cloud for service delivery, which is a process that depends on network bandwidth and latency. Knowing the exact Quality of Service (QoS) in each spatial geo-position can help many applications to improve the Quality of Experience (QoE) of application users. In this paper, a QoS monitoring technique for acquiring bandwidth and latency information is proposed. This technique reduces the amount of collected data that needs to be transmitted and reduces energy consumption to structure and transmit that data. The primary purpose of collecting these data is for QoS information to be reused in other, or the same, applications and cases, to improve QoE.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116300981","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this purpose a survey was administered to retailers whose primary business sector ranges from fashion, electronics, general merchandise and DIY. The survey mainly targeted supermarkets, department stores, chain stores and convenience stores. Data was collected from a representative sample of retailers in Nicosia Cyprus, using a simple random sampling technique. From the analysis carried out, it became evident that Cypriot retailers are mainly bounded to traditional solutions involving Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems, although they highly value new technology both in back office and front office systems. Regarding their current status, it should be noted that most state of the art front office and back office systems unfortunately are not in use. On the other hand, retailers in Cyprus highly associate the strategic aims of their organizations with new technology solutions.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123792086","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study applied service design tools to capture the port passenger experience throughout the whole journey, from before going to the port, at the port, to after leaving the port. The purpose of the study was to analyze the port passenger experience, to identify the pain points and gaps, and to develop recommendations for the improvement of port services. The study collected real-time observations of embarkation and disembarkation activities at one port location in order to develop customer journey maps for four port passenger personas who differed by the type of traveling mode and/or the type of ticket used. Mapping the port passenger's service encounters allowed the identification of problematic issues and the recommendation of technological solutions for the improvement of port services. In particular, self-service technologies, designed to assist passengers, and queue management technologies can minimize queuing time, contribute to the effective organization of the embarkation process and improve the overall customer experience. Recommendations for the improvement of the port website were also defined.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116597387","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Yet, recycling requires the sorting of solid waste, which is complex and expensive. In an attempt to ease this process, our work proposes a Deep Learning approach using computer vision to automatically identify the type of waste and classify it into five main categories: plastic, metal, paper, cardboard and glass. Our conceptual system consists of an automated recycling bin which automatically opens the lid corresponding to the type of waste identified. This work focuses mainly on the Machine Learning algorithms which can be trained for efficient identification. Pre-existing images have been used to train a minimum of 12 variants of the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) algorithm over three classifiers: Support Vector Machine (SVM), Sigmoid and SoftMax. Our results show that VGG19 with SoftMax classifier has an accuracy of around 88%.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127682054","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, 5G is currently raising many questions from the general public and professionals. To better understand these questions related to acceptability, a quantitative experimental study was conducted with 81 healthcare professionals, via an online questionnaire. The objective is to analyse the impact of the level of information on acceptability. The participants were divided into two experimental groups, confronted either with a low level of information or a high level of information about 5G. Several dimensions were analyzed (perceived usefulness and usability, intention to use, harmfulness and perceived environmental impact). The results show a significant influence of the level of information related to 5G on the number of \"I don’t know\" responses participants. More broadly, this study demonstrates the influence of respondents’ level of information on their ability to express an opinion. These results provides insights for the construction of survey and public policies around 5G and new technologies acceptability.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126448197","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In-car embedded systems are limited with the number of available resources including random access memory. In this paper, the goal was to reduce the RAM consumption of automatically generated tests for the embedded computer systems based on the Infineon Tricore AURIX microcontroller. The program that was optimized was written in C, and the code itself was generated using the proprietary Python tools. There are various techniques used for reducing the RAM footprint. In this paper we used loop inversion, loop unrolling, data type size reduction, memory alignment and heuristic methods. Also, compiler optimization options were used but not tested on the board. We achieved up to 10.97% lower RAM footprint with the optimized program code successfully passing all the initial tests.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131806126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our methodology, a source C/C++ file is converted to an assembly file via spu-gcc to detect stalls in basic code blocks and CIS generates the DDG of executable code to eliminate stalls to find optimization opportunities and increase the program performance. The CIS simply shuffles the instruction sequences of the assembly code to eliminate CPU stalls in a given basic instruction block. Random and sliding window schedulers are implemented to generate a new assembly code sequence based on DDG and a basic block in parallel. Finally, this paper describes how CIS finds the optimized code sequence for a given file without any conflicts and hazards. Compared to the original code compilation process, we have shown that CIS improves the code execution metrics, and also our evaluated speedup results are found to be promising.","PeriodicalId":308106,"journal":{"name":"2021 Zooming Innovation in Consumer Technologies Conference (ZINC)","volume":"18 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133569823","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
