Thus, in an increasingly competitive and transforming environment, the overall demand for qualified services have become a common denominator in Higher Education Institutions HEIs. The later exposed the necessity for management optimization so that public institutions could improve their performance for the benefit of students. Unlike other companies that aim to satisfy themselves, these HEIs often perceive satisfaction as a means to an end. That is, satisfied students are loyal students. Thus, in this research the European Satisfaction Model (ECSI) was applied to 1581 students from 23 public and free universities in Brazil. As a result, it has been observed that satisfaction is a determinant of loyalty. Among the determinants of satisfaction, it was observed that the image, the treatment of complaints and perceived value are the most representative key-factor elements. Nessa perspectiva, foi analisada a importância atribuída aos indicadores de desempenho, sob a ótica da teoria da contingência. Quanto aos procedimentos metodológicos, utilizou-se como instrumento de coleta de dados o questionário, que foi aplicado junto a gestores de 20 empresas do setor da construção civil localizadas na Cidade de Recife. Para análise dos dados coletados foi utilizado o teste não paramétrico coeficiente de correlação de Spearman, com o auxílio do software STATISTICA for Windows. A análise dos resultados evidenciou poucas relações significativas entre as características dos gestores com indicadores de desempenho, sendo a relação da variável faixa etária com o indicador desperdícios a única a alcançar magnitude forte. Também foram evidenciadas algumas relações significativas entre as características das empresas e os indicadores de desempenho, sendo as relações da variável prioridade estratégica com os indicadores (pontualidade de entrega, flexibilidade de volume operacional, entregas no prazo, satisfação dos empregados e gestão de risco) as únicas a apresentarem magnitude forte. O conhecimento gerado pelas pesquisas realizadas por alunos e pesquisadores pode ocasionar a interação com diferentes atores, entre eles as empresas, acarretando a transferência do conhecimento produzido na universidade para o mercado. Diante disso, este artigo teve como objetivo analisar de que forma ocorre a interação universidade-empresa a partir dos casos da Universidade Estadual de Campinas (Unicamp) e da Universidade do Vale do Rio dos Sinos (Unisinos). O método utilizado possui abordagem qualitativa, de natureza exploratória, e caracteriza-se, em termos de delineamento, como um estudo de caso, possuindo como elementos duas Instituições de Ensino Superior brasileiras. Para coleta de dados, além da pesquisa bibliográfica e documental, adotou-se a entrevista semiestruturada realizada com gestores e pesquisadores das universidades. Na análise dos dados, foi empregada a análise de conteúdo, com o tratamento por meio do software NVivo®. Thinking about the reality of organizations located in the city of Novo Hamburgo, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, which for a long time had its economy turned to the leather footwear sector, this article aimed to identify the specificities, needs and lacks of the innovation management process in companies in that sector. A bibliographic review was carried out and data were collected with direct observations and in-depth interview with nine managers from different organizations. It was pointed out that these organizations are still in the early stages of the innovation management process. These market demands are currently changing the concept and sustainable strategies that the organization develops; in this context, people management plays a crucial role in actions, since it is the management of policies and practices planned and implemented by people management tend to help in the desirable position in the level of organizational sustainability. The theme studied deserves further reflection in academia and organizations. This paper seeks to understand how the strategic and sustainable models of people management are aligned and the levels of organizational sustainability of two pulp and paper industries. This purpose, a multiple case study was carried out in these two industries, which are configured in companies that are restructuring strategies aimed at implementing sustainability for the best organizational performance. In order to achieve the general objective, it was necessary to conduct a wide bibliographic search, with semi-structured interviews with directors and employees – strategic and tactical –, in addition to unsystematic observation and analysis of the companies' documents on the websites. This study aims to investigate how socioemotional wealth impacts the professionalization process in a family business. The research is characterized as exploratory, a qualitative case study carried out in a company located in Santa Catarina with 50 years of history, being a large-scale, privately-held company. The interviews were analyzed using the discourse analysis approach. The results of the research suggest that socioemotional wealth influenced professionalization to preserve family values, given that professionalization occurred to maintain and survive the business. Also, the hiring of non-family professionals allowed different perceptions for decision making, adding value to decision making. The theoretical contribution of the study consists of the discussion of socioemotional wealth and professionalization, about the involvement of the family in the organization, and the participation of non-family professionals in the management of the business, taking into account that the socioemotional wealth reinforces the professionalization of the family business. The literature review addresses both the evolution of supermarket retailing and children's influence on family’s decision-making at supermarket. We conduct two researches, first (qualitative) included 12 observations and 7 interviews at one supermarket store, second (quantitative) consisted of a survey at four stores of same supermarket chain with sample of 298 families. The results indicate there mainly findings, (a) parents prefer when children are in shopping cart, (b) children prefer to go in the buggy as there is a funny shopping experience, and (c) when children are walking, they interact more with the products in the supermarket, consequently, its family spend more than had planned. This paper has the following contributions. The paper offers a deeper understanding of how children behave in real settings, providing insights to retail managers on the dynamics of the store. In addition, we offer suggestions to retail managers on how to deploy a cart strategy that has potential to bring superior revenues. Silva","doi":"10.18593/race.20503","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18593/race.20503","url":null,"abstract":"This study aims to understand how the Spirituality in the Work Environment (EAT) influences the Organizational Citizenship Behavior (CCO), based on the perception of the employees of an industry in the Mineral Water sector of Rio Grande do Norte. The purpose of this paper is to present, interpret and understand the relationships between the analytical variables, obtained from the employees' perceptions. For that, a quantitative perspective and descriptive purpose research was carried out. Data collection on EAT and CCO was done through questionnaires answered by 32 employees at all hierarchical levels. The main results showed that the dimensions Sense of service to the community and Joy in the work had a higher prevalence over the other dimensions. As for the CCO, a high degree of perception of the aspects of Courtesy and Altruism was identified. On the other hand, the behavior of Sportsmanship was less predominant in the results. Age, length of service and leadership position had an influence on CCOs and EAT. It was verified the existence of moderate relation between Sense of benefit of community and all CCO, except, Sportsmanship. Referring, therefore, to the style of relational leadership, this article has the central purpose of presenting results of a study aimed at investigating the role and forms of performance of leadership in a Brazilian organization identified with organizational architecture oriented to the notion of network. The research can be classified as a case study, carried out through a qualitative approach, conducted with the organization of the fractionated cargo transportation segment, with units in the southern region of Brazil. Data were collected through interviews, observation, questionnaires and document analysis. For data analysis, content analysis and triangulation of different sources of evidence were used. Cunha, Maria Denize Henrique Casagrande, Sandro Vieira Soares, Alan Diógenes Góis","doi":"10.18593/RACE.21319","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.18593/RACE.21319","url":null,"abstract":"The Accountant’s Professional Code of Ethics (CEPC) aims to set the way which accountants must follow in the exercise of their profession and with regards to their professional class, and knowledge of its contents is one of the components of the Sufficiency Exam of the Federal Accounting Council. This research aims to verify the level of knowledge that the students of the Accounting Sciences Course in the Federal University of Santa Catarina have with regards to the CEPC. The qualitative research was done via a survey based on questions from the Sufficiency Exam of the Federal Accounting Council. The research had the participation of 101 students enrolled in the 2nd and 4th stages of the Course. The results show that the average number of correct answers for students who took the class (Ethics and Political Philosophy) is statistically higher than that of students who did not take the class. The median of that count for the students who took the class is twice that of the students who did not take the class. These results support the conclusion that taking the class positively impacts the students’ performance on ethics-related questions. However, the analysis, per question, of the performance of both groups revealed that the proportion of correct answers for the students who already took the class is statistically higher than that of the students who did not take the class yet in only 5 of the 18 questions analyzed.
