The list of species includes 142 species, from 2 classes, 13 orders, 25 families and 44 genera. Eunotia fallax, Nitzschia palea, Pinnularia borealis, P. subcapitata had a highest frequency of occurrence. The largest number of species found in the coastal ecotones of lakes in the valley of the river Vangyr and in mountain-tundra soils in the Subpolar Urals.","PeriodicalId":305989,"journal":{"name":"Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128221447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Photographs of diatoms published in scientific articles were used as data. During taxonomic identification, hydrobiologists often refer to such publications to compare the studied organism with the typical representatives of genera or species. The created information system “Arkhip” (3d-microalgae.org/arxip) allows to index and consolidate the information about the published photos in a single database, which will help to speed up the identification of diatom species.","PeriodicalId":305989,"journal":{"name":"Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128580676","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An analysis of the literature devoted to studies of cell morphogenesis and the role of cellular structures in the formation of daughter semicells was carried out. It is shown that the traits of desmidian algae cells, such as the length and number of processes, the degree of expression of lobes, and other morphological structures, are quite variable at the species level and depend on many factors. However, at the generic level, cell shape is generally stable.","PeriodicalId":305989,"journal":{"name":"Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)","volume":"243 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124685103","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It was studied by light microscope, the nucleotide sequences of 16S rRNA and ITS were obtained. Based on 16S rRNA phylogenetic analysis, the strain KPABG LID-610023 was placed in the clade of Inacoccus in spite of morphological and molecular differences from one already established species: Inacoccus carmineus. Morphologically the tested strain did not show colored hyaline envelopes, and nanocytes were absent. The nucleotide sequences of 16S rRNA gene clearly demonstrated a genetic difference, separating it from Inacoccus carmineus. In addition, we compared ITS sequences of KPABG LID-610023 strain and Inacoccus carmineus and found that nucleotide composition, length, and secondary structures of D1–D1' and Box-B were different. These results suggest that the strain KPABG LID-610023 appear to be a new species of the genus Inacoccus. Possibly this new species is a cryptic taxon due to its morphological similarity with Chroococcus pallidus Näg.","PeriodicalId":305989,"journal":{"name":"Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129243195","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This is due to their importance in the capacity of efficient and economical producers of food additives, cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, biofertilizers, biofuels, and wastewater bioremediation agents. The present work deals with global recent relevant developments and addresses the question whether microalgae and their products can meet new challenges in terms of cutting-edge biotechnological developments based on synthetic biology, phenomics, and the Internet of Things (IoT).","PeriodicalId":305989,"journal":{"name":"Issues of modern algology (Вопросы современной альгологии)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114836952","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
