A key aspect of improving the executed performance of a process is to assign the most appropriate resources to each process task. During process execution, process traces are generated which are widely acknowledged as important sources for posterior analysis. The process traces are stored in a process warehouse and it is used as a primary data source. This research is conducted to show how process warehouse based resource evaluation method (PWREM) can be used for business process improvement. The first contribution of this study is to show how information can be extracted from process warehouse based method i.e. PWREM. The second contribution of this study is to show how PWREM generated information can be used for resource management.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132202454","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, this paper focuses in an effort of developing a system called E-complaint system to create visibilities in SCAR besides supplier rating criterions also have been enhanced to have more criterions to rate the supplier's performances. Nevertheless, improvement in supplier audits was also focused on green program which plays a role in developing the graph bar of supplier's performances. Percentage of improvement is estimated around 30% from the 1st month drop to the improvement on the next month and subsequently increases on the quality of performances and services. The study shows that supplier quality could be managed in many ways and several criteria that have been developed and introduced are contributing in supplier developments.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123879126","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As such, purchase dependencies can be assumed to be closely related to the association the items or products they purchased together at one particular time. This study focuses on the association of product being purchased within one transaction based on the transaction made by the customers in retail shops and a supermarket. The objective is to adopt the inventory model with purchase dependencies in a real world and finally to compare the effect of purchase dependencies in the product availability level. Primary data were obtained from 130 customer sales transactions in the retail shop and the supermarket over a 7- day period. In order to demonstrate the effect of purchase dependencies on the total inventory cost, we adapted a new inventory model that utilizes purchase dependence. Finally, the test for significance of the difference is applied to show the effect of incorporating purchase dependencies in the inventory model. The simulation results demonstrated that the extended inventory models which have considered purchase dependencies showed reduction in lost sales and lost profit as well as total inventory cost. In conclusion, by incorporating purchase dependence element into inventory management process, we can minimize total inventory cost as well as lost profit.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131315632","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

To model and develop an effective educational game has constantly been a challenge for game developers as they need to understand the depth and relationships between theoretical foundations, game environment, rules and regulations, and the learner's achievement to precisely recognize the goal embedded in the educational game. Thus, the authors have proposed a multi-domain framework with extracted relationships through systematic literature review. These relationships are verified through qualitative interviews with eight (8) game-based learning experts to validate the relationships. This paper presents six (6) implicit relationships based on learning theories domain and discusses their relevancy with game environment, game play (rule and regulations), and subject-matter (learners, teachers) by applying interpretive hermeneutic approach of qualitative study. Consequently, this paper concludes six (6) explicit relationships for game developers to reflect on during the development process of educational games.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131498370","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, it is essential for a distribution power system to have a flexible, stable and more reliable load restoration system. The aim of the load restoration in this paper is to restore as many loads as possible through the network reconfiguration while minimizing the power losses after the occurrences of fault. Distribution network reconfiguration (DNR) is applied to determine the best combination of open switches that acts as the best route to optimize the reduction of power losses during load restoration process. An improved genetic algorithm (IGA) is proposed in this paper. The algorithm proposed is tested and validated on 69 IEEE bus using MATLAB software. A detail analysis is performed to demonstrate the effectiveness of IGA. The proposed method is applied and the effects of method on the power losses are examined. Results show that IGA method for load restoration via DNR is more effective compared with genetic algorithm (GA) solution.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116507233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

TiO2 sensing membrane in form of thin film was deposited on an indium tin oxide (ITO) substrate where sol-gel spin coating technique was chosen as the depositing technique. Result shows that increasing thickness will increase the thin film surface roughness. All samples have linearity approximately 1 which indicates that TiO2 is suitable and stable to be used to detect hydrogen ion in solution with different pH values. The sample sensitivity was measured and the result shows that the thinnest sample has the highest sensitivity with value of 56 mV/pH. This value is close to Nernstian theoretical value of 59 mV/pH.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128937490","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Various approaches using computers in education have become the most prominent over the last decade (i.e. e-learning, game-based learning systems, and edutainment).
