However, past researches in finding antecedents of customer citizenship behavior are limited to intrinsic value while the role of extrinsic value in customer citizenship behavior is largely ignored. The aim of this study is to fill this gap by investigating the effect of extrinsic experiential value on customer citizenship behavior. The data was collected from 800 customers of four hypermarkets located in five states of Malaysia. The covariance-based structural equation modeling approach was used to analyze the data. Findings indicate that extrinsic value has significant and positive impact on all four dimensions (feedback, helping, advocacy, tolerance) of customer citizenship behavior. The findings suggest that extrinsic value, that is, customer return on investment and service excellence, are important source for developing customer citizenship behavior. Therefore, there is dire need to focus on extrinsic value to achieve customer citizenship behavior which will subsequently lead to gain competitive advantage.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"224 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131973105","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Numerous researchers proposed numerous methods and ideas for the (semi or automated) reconstruction of a (usually large) number of broken irregular fragments. Hence, this paper aims to provide an in-depth review of the most notable publications on computer applications related to the area of classification and reconstruction of archaeological pottery fragments using two-dimensional images during the period between the early 1970s and 2014. The considered publications were classified on the basis of the study type, which is divided into two categories: studies that focus on classification of ancient fragments into groups, and those that focus on the reconstruction of archaeological fragments. This paper reviews and analyzes the most relevant works published according to the extracted features, classification processes involved, matching techniques that have been implemented for the restoration of pottery objects to their original form, as well as the yielded results.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"210 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116199310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The first step in requirements engineering is requirements elicitation and analysis where the software engineers gather, elicit and analyze the system requirements with the help from the stakeholders of the intended system. This step then followed by requirements validation which is aimed to validate whether the defined requirements actually represent a system with the services that the stakeholders want. This paper discuss about strategy for enhancing the quality of the requirements engineering process by using software prototypes. This strategy was enacted in a software project which was developing Student Marking System (SMS) in University XYZ. This paper will explain about how software engineers in the project combining low-fidelity and high-fidelity prototypes during the requirements engineering process.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125174508","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An independency relationship between a large number of stakeholders required to be managed in construction projects procurement and execution that need continuous coordination. Coordination function is to harmonize the different activities, so that the determined objectives can be reached effectively. However, the study of coordination characteristics are the way to assess the status of coordination in construction projects. Through the literatures, the most important characteristics of coordination process were identified. Quantitative approach was used to investigate them through questionnaire. The data were analyzed by means of statistical analysis and Chi-square test. The analysis showed that, 45.5 % of the respondents mentioned to a moderate level of knowledge about coordination, however 44.6 % were commonly applied coordination culture. Nevertheless, about 60% believed that, ability and willingness are the main obstacle of coordination application. At the same time, 75% considered coordination effect as significantly improve the project performance. In the future, 70 % of the respondents will always apply coordination consideration from their personal motivation. The results of Chi-square show a significant dependent relationship between the position and organization function variables and the eight coordination characteristics.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117053185","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The intention is to obtain a set of VNTR loci that has the highest discriminatory power using the least number of loci possible. In this paper, a modified genetic algorithm (GA) is proposed to find an optimum set of loci from a VNTR genotyping of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. The performance of the modified GA is compared with results of the basic GA and the exhaustive method. The effectiveness and efficiency of the modified GA are discussed. The results indicate that the modified GA is a promising method for finding an optimum set of VNTR loci from a MLVA database.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128000702","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This research has been conducted among 30 first year students of Tamil Course. The guiding research questions for this study were (1) what are the differences in terms of thinking skills found between keyboarding and handwriting? (2) How often does students involve in using social networking as an education tool? Instruments used for this research were subjective questions and questionnaire. Student's comments were analyzed using Thinking Moves which is based on Bloom's Revised Thinking Taxonomy. From the research it has been concluded that complex thinking skills such as analyzing, evaluating and creating were not reflected completely in keyboarding compared to handwriting skills. Research findings also revealed the mistakes made by the students during keyboarding which was rare in handwriting. The outcome of the analysis suggests that application of social networking in teaching writing skills need to be revised as it does not encourages student to think deeper. It should be used wisely during teaching and learning.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121280830","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rapid depletion of natural resources, climate change, and concentration on greenhouse gas emissions grabbed much of the attention of regulators, researchers, academia and practitioners around the world. This paper focuses on Malaysian construction sector which has low status of CO2 emissions as evidenced in a sample of 32 companies from 2011 to 2013. The content analysis procedure of the annual reports for the sample companies revealed that most of the companies are committed towards environmental sustainability but only few disclose their efforts for CO2 emissions. Moreover, most of their disclosures are superficial and repetitive in nature for the sake of reporting only which have no practical value. Thus, this paper strongly recommends the implementation of effective strategies and taking further practical steps to mitigate CO2 emissions in the Malaysian sector. The paper has implications for researchers, academia, regulatory bodies and practitioners. The paper also fills the exhibited gap in literature.","PeriodicalId":302732,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Technology Management and Emerging Technologies (ISTMET)","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-08-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127925888","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
