Method It is approached from the interpretive paradigm, qualitative methodology, and with a systematic Grounded Theory design of Strauss and Corbin. The sample corresponds to 14 nurses who actively participate in union organizations. Conducting in-depth interviews, with several rounds of data analysis and interpretation for conceptual refinement, following the TF trajectory: open, axial and selective phase. Results Four codes are obtained, with 16 subcodes, which are expressed in the selective phase, through the political activism central code, which maintains professional depoliticization as a causal, intervening and contextual condition, which develops as a consequence of political disinterest, as well as the professional defense that groups the strategies carried out or identified to maintain professional activism arises. Conclusions and implications for practice The theory highlights political activism as the central code, and reveals weak collective strategies to promote professional political participation. This opens up interesting lines of research, and challenges for the teaching and community work of nurses.","PeriodicalId":30154,"journal":{"name":"Escola Anna Nery","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67300457","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method a descriptive and exploratory study with a qualitative approach. Data collection took place between September and December 2021, in a Higher Education Institution from the central region of Rio Grande do Sul. The research participants were eleven professors who coordinate internships in the Collective Health scope. The data were submitted to Discursive Textual Analysis. Results as main challenges, the data pointed out the scarce integration moments, the restricted physical space in the services, some professionals' resistance to work in teams and the schedules of the academic practices. On the other hand, the programs that induce training for the Unified Health System and the existence of a Collective Health collegiate group proved to be strategies to promote interprofessional education. Conclusion it is concluded that interprofessional education still faces obstacles to its strengthening; however, there are already initiatives that demonstrate potential for teaching-service-community integration. Implications for the practice the study can contribute to identifying the challenges inherent to interprofessional education and, thus, enabling strategies in the context of training and work in health, from an interprofessional perspective.","PeriodicalId":30154,"journal":{"name":"Escola Anna Nery","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67300630","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method a cross-sectional, descriptive-exploratory study with a quantitative approach, using the Pieper’s Pressure Ulcer Knowledge Test. Data were analyzed using the Statistical Package for Social Science, using descriptive and inferential statistics (ANOVA-One Way, Shapiro-Wilk normality test and assumption of homogeneity using Levene’s test). Results the research sample included 70 participants, being 22 nurses, 14 nursing technicians and 34 undergraduate nursing students. It was observed that only 22.7% of nurses, 7.1% of technicians and 0.0% of students reached the percentage of correct answers ≥ 90% recommended by the knowledge test. Conclusion and implications for practice the results found in this study made it possible to identify an insufficient level of knowledge and a mistaken perception of aptitude, related to the pressure ulcer prevention, among the study participants, with emphasis on technicians and undergraduates in nursing. Method This is a quantitative, descriptive, and cross-sectional study carried out in 114 hospital infection control services in the five official regions of Brazil. The data were collected using a structured instrument whose psychometric properties were previously validated. Data treatment was performed by principal component analysis and non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test. Results The best quality index of infection control programs was attributed to the South region, to hospitals that had 300 beds or more, to those that used the National Healthcare Safety Network criterion for infection surveillance and to places that carried out an active prospective search as their surveillance method. Conclusion and implications for practice: The quality of infection control programs is related to hospital location, size, and infection surveillance method. The creation of a quality index, hitherto unheard of in Brazilian studies, draws attention to the precarious performance of health services.","PeriodicalId":30154,"journal":{"name":"Escola Anna Nery","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67300868","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method a cross-sectional online study, carried out between May 2021 and August 2022, with 97 parturient women in the municipality of Rio das Ostras. In the association between variables, the chi-square test and logistic regression were used. Results among the participants, 77.3% gave birth in the public maternity hospital and 22.7% in the private maternity hospital. The prevalence of breastfeeding in the first hour of life in the delivery room and in rooming-in was, respectively, 21.6% and 58.3%, with significant differences between maternity hospitals. Postpartum women from the public maternity hospital were more likely to not breastfeed in the first hour of life. Having basic education increased the chances of the baby not being breastfed in the delivery room and not having early skin-to-skin contact and not breastfeeding breastfed in rooming-in. Conclusion and implications for practice breastfeeding in the first hour of life did not reach recommended levels and different factors associated with its occurrence were identified, such as education level, place of childbirth and skin-to-skin contact.
