Method a qualitative study was carried out in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, with 15 nurses. Data collection was done through semi-structured interviews based on a systematization of experiences. The Taguette program and B-learning methodologies as theoretical references were used to analyze the information. Results weaknesses were identified in factors related to the accessibility of users to the service, supplies, infrastructure, biosafety, training of health personnel, delivery of results to patients, and knowledge of the program by the users. Conclusions and implications for practice cervical cancer is a public health problem. Cervical cytology is the most widely used screening test; however, there are limitations in quality, so actions are proposed to improve the knowledge and skills of the nursing staff in their functions. The educational intervention effectively promoted comprehensive learning about taking cervical smears and allowed the nursing staff to share their experiences.","PeriodicalId":30154,"journal":{"name":"Escola Anna Nery","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67300235","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method a descriptive qualitative study was developed with ten mothers of children and adolescents with epidermolysis bullosa from different regions of Brazil using semi-structured interviews recorded remotely using Google Meet® between September and November 2021. The thematic analysis technique guided the appreciation of the empirical material. Results mothers aged between 23 and 53 years participated in the study. Two categories translate the maternal experience: i) the “shock” of the diagnosis and the initial challenges and ii) “Stop living to live for them”: the changes in the families’ daily life. Final considerations and implications for practice mothers experienced fear and insecurity when their child was diagnosed, and the care routine, especially the daily dressing changes, caused a physical and emotional burden. These results can support the follow-up of these families to provide them with care tools and emotional support.","PeriodicalId":30154,"journal":{"name":"Escola Anna Nery","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67300920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Method this is a report on the use of a methodological strategy for data integration and analysis in mixed methods research. Data from an analytical longitudinal study that followed 151 preterm infants in the first year of life are presented. The study addressed aspects of the health conditions of this population and integrated quantitative data, collected through an instrument to assess health conditions and qualitative data from a semi-structured interview. Results data integration in mixed studies is a methodological requirement that requires researchers to use strategies that enable and facilitate this analytical process. A talking table, through the visual integration of quantitative data expressed in tables and their analytical convergences and divergences with qualitative statements, favors integrated reading and interpretation. Conclusion and implications for practice: a talking table is considered an analytical tool for quantitative and qualitative data integration, which contribute to developing meta-inferences in mixed methods research.","PeriodicalId":30154,"journal":{"name":"Escola Anna Nery","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67298996","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Methods this was an observational, longitudinal, retrospective and descriptive study that used a quantitative approach, conducted at a large private health care facility in the city of São Paulo, Brazil. The data collected refer to the period from April to June 2021. The research was approved by the Research Ethics Committee of Hospital Israelita Albert Einstein, under Protocol 5.423.393. Ten procedures were selected for supervision, such as tracheal aspiration, nasogastric tube, venipuncture, donning, dressing and equipment handling. Data obtained were analyzed using descriptive analyses and statistical tests. Results of the participants (72), 87.7% were women with mean age of 33 years and their mean work experience was 9 months (50%). Initially, professionals participated in the standard 26-hour institutional training and, later, in supervised practice-mediated training. The mean time per procedure was 45 minutes. The median proficiency in eight of the procedures was eight. Most professionals rated themselves as confident (98.9%) and satisfied with the training (99.4%). Conclusion and implications for practice the training enabled a structured process of identification and monitoring of care practice, allowing for an effective strategy to provide prepared professionals who work safely.","PeriodicalId":30154,"journal":{"name":"Escola Anna Nery","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"67300698","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The variables assessed included health characterization, burden, depressive symptoms, and stress. A linear regression model and Poisson test were employed, with a significance level set at 5%. Similarly, a one-point increase in the stress scale score was associated with a 0.058 increase in the number of diseases (p=0.001), as well as an increased risk of a poor subjective health assessment (p=<0.001) and chronic pain (p=<0.001). Furthermore, an increase in the score on the depressive symptoms scale was associated with an increase in the number of diseases (p=<0.001), risk of falls (p=0.009), poor subjective health assessment (p=<0.001), and chronic pain (p=<0.001).
