Jahrhunderts zur Ausbildung der Wehrmedizinethik. Das neue Fach gewann im Zuge der geführten nationalen und internationalen wissenschaftlichen Diskurse vermehrt an Kontur, so dass sich ein Bereich spezifischer wehrmedizinethischer Themen ausmachen lässt. Diesen versucht die Wehrmedizinethik durch die Formulierung und Selbstverpflichtung wehrmedizinethischer Prinzipien zu begegnen, die sanitätsdienstliche Kräfte selbst dann binden, wenn die Vorgaben des humanitären Völkerrechtes formaljuristisch nicht zur Anwendung gebracht werden können. Das Einstehen für diese Prinzipien ist Ausdruck einer moralischen Kompetenz, die die Wehrmedizinethik durch Forschung und Lehre zu fördern versucht.","PeriodicalId":288000,"journal":{"name":"Zeitschrift für medizinische Ethik","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122624266","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In other words, we need what is strange as something that is totally different; in a very real (not just an ethical) sense it is necessary for our Jives. What matters then is how we plan to cope with this situation. The validity of our own moral rules and the universal ethos of helping is put into question. Demographic developments make this challenge a real one: the number of people from foreign cultures, their special states of illness, and the change of the old »nation« paradigm. Understanding the foreign patient means to empathise with his/her concrete difficulties in reaching a decision outside customary environment that could support it. Therefore we need to detail the rule of empathy and develop the insight that the strange is a part of ourselves.","PeriodicalId":288000,"journal":{"name":"Zeitschrift für medizinische Ethik","volume":"17 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2000-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125270595","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The orientation on achievement in all central areas of human life can be traced back to the rise of modern thinking – “the birth of the superlative from the spirit of modernity”. However, medicine can resist having its core concepts realigned to an economic perspective and keep its high standards if it rediscovers and expands its humanitarian potential. A new focus on the patient and a strengthening of patient autonomy can help to stop the medical system from becoming more and more mechanised and anonymous.","PeriodicalId":288000,"journal":{"name":"Zeitschrift für medizinische Ethik","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2000-04-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128736789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
