This makes the demand for halal products increase. However, it is not followed by supply from a trusted manufacturer for the halal product. This study wanted to know how the perception of halal in Islam can affect one’s intention of repurchase judged from the level of religiosity, knowledge, attitude and its impact in determining the intention of repurchasing halal cosmetics in Indonesia regardless of their religion. A total of 354 usable questionnaires from respondents over the age of 18, who purchased cosmetics in the last 6 months were used. This study used a self-administrated questionnaire with closed-ended questions. Data analysis was performed using conclusive descriptive cross-sectional analysis and Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method using LISREL 8.51 software. The results in the study showed that there is a significant impact of religiosity and knowledge of the customers toward intention to repurchase halal cosmetics on an indirect relationship. The purpose of this study is to increase awareness of the society about the importance of halal products, not only for internal use but also external use. The mediating variable, attitude, become a significant variable to mediate the influence of religiosity and knowledge toward intention to purchase halal cosmetics. Meanwhile previous study showed that only religiosity has a significant result.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122458672","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A qualitative approach with multiple case studies was used to analyze the expatriation process in Indonesian firms which employed expatriates with expertise in engineering. Results of the case studies show different patterns of expatriation process, depending on the involvement of external parties. The recruitment and selection process in Indonesian local firms tend to be a closed and semi-formal system. Different selection criteria were found for processes with and without the involvement of external parties. Multi-stage recruitment process emerged when there was involvement of external parties. Another finding reveals that the Human Resource Department (HRD) held a more passive role, while the more active role was held by the expatriate’s co-workers and top-level management. Language and cultural aspects were identified as inhibitors of knowledge transfer (KT). KT success could be achieved in two types of conditions related to KT readiness, either from the expatriate or the co-worker.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-03-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127974603","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As an illustration, we construct a portfolio which consists of the IDX Main Board and Development Board Indices in equal proportion (50% each). Based on Kupiec’s Proportion of Failure Test (POF), the estimated 99% VaR with the Monte Carlo-Copula method is not rejected. Therefore, it can be concluded that the Monte Carlo-Copula method can be used to estimate VaR in the Indonesian stock market.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"123 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127411035","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Previously, there has not been much prior research regarding cost structure and payout policy in emerging markets, especially Indonesia. Most Indonesian firms still prefer to distribute dividends over repurchases. Cost structure can be defined as the portion of the firms’ fixed and variable costs. By using logistic panel regression method, the results show that Indonesian nonfinancial firms’ cost structure plays a significant role in payout policy, specifically dividend payout. When the cost structure decrease, firms become more flexible in changing their profits as the sales change. The higher values of cost structure mean the more inflexible the firms become, these firms tend to have a high proportion of fixed costs in their operating costs. This study reaches the understanding that firms with a high-cost structure usually compensate less in dividends and repurchases. Indonesian non-financial firms, which distributes payout, have a lower cost structure, higher retained earnings, higher cash, and more variable operating income. Based on the conducted study, it is more rational for Indonesian non-financial firms to administer payout on dividend compared to repurchasing. Although the trend of repurchasing shares has recently escalated in emerging countries, especially Indonesia, the majority of Indonesian nonfinancial firms still have the tendency to spend money on dividend instead of repurchases due to unclear repurchases regulation and several limitations.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114972783","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In these events, the participants are selected and trained to improve their performance. The elimination system creates a competitive environment among participants. The most popular talent search event is the talent search event in the singing field (longest running event). Usually, such events promise cash and/or contracts with certain companies. The purpose of this research is to explore the career of talent search finalists in the singing field, after participating in a talent search audition. Exploration is done through various sources such as interviews with the grand finalist in the talent search event in the field of singing, observations using YouTube videos to know the activities of finalists during the talent search event. Data obtained through the internet is secondary data that can be used as a source of information about the sustainability of a finalist’s career after participating in the talent search event. The research results show that the sustainability of a finalist’s career is determined by the attitude of the finalist itself, whether the finalist continues to struggle to learn things so that they can convince their management to keep promoting them to be able to compete in the Indonesian music industry.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"346 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122754495","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

With the Poisson regression model, this study modeled the number of deaths with policy duration, underwriting treatment, extra mortality enactment, and the sum insured amount. The sample data used in this study is the death count of insured males over the age of 18 years during period 2012-2016 in life insurance company PT ABC. After modeling the baseline mortality with a Poisson regression model and then performing exploratory analysis using a Standardized Mortality Ratio (SMR) for classifying risk, the mortality rate estimation based on the risk profile of life insurance company PT ABC is obtained. This estimated mortality rate is used to construct a mortality table. The results of the study showed that mortality rates for three-year policy duration of insured males over the age of 18 years’ underwritten insurance policy with sum insured less than IDR 100 million and no extra mortality are greater than mortality rates for zero-year policy duration with the same profile. By getting the mortality rate in accordance with the company’s risk profile, life insurance companies are expected to be more precise in determining the required reserves and deriving premiums in line with the risk profile of the insured lives.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"53 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125481626","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Co-creation has relational properties, but there are limited studies that discuss the effect of value co-creation on relationship outcomes such as customer satisfaction, commitment, and confidence benefit/trust, and social benefits. Hypotheses testing is done using an experimental method. Value co-creation scenarios are developed using purchasing of tourism travel services settings. Value co-creation is manipulated into high and low conditions. The independent t-test results show that there are differences in confidence benefit/trust and social benefit in high and low-value co-creation groups.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134562427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study was conducted in an Indonesian public audit institution. This institution applies a policy to relocate its employees periodically to any of 34 provinces in Indonesia. The samples were 374 non-structural employees. The survey was conducted to collect data about the relocation mobility readiness, the personality dispositions (neuroticism, openness to experience, and uncertainty tolerance) and the social orientations (social norm, individualism orientation, collectivism orientation). The convenience sampling method was used in this study, while the hierarchical regression was used as an analysis method. This study indicates that personality dispositions and social orientations significantly influence the relocation mobility readiness. The higher the value of the uncertainty tolerance and social norm, the higher the employees’ readiness to be relocated. The higher the vertical collectivism, the lower the employees’ readiness to be relocated. Therefore, the institution should provide its employees and their families with supporting programs so that they are ready to be transferred to other areas in Indonesia.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128769639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The country’s gas demand is expected to increase by another 1,600 mmcfd from 2017, reaching 5,100 mmcfd in 2035 (Wood McKenzie Report 2017). The establishment of an oil and gas holding company by the Ministry of State-Owned Enterprises is considered as one way to avoid duplication of natural gas downstream management of two major players: PT PGN Tbk and PT Pertagas. This review aims to analyze all financial aspects related to the acquisition plan to address the investors’ concerns. We use a discounted cash flow method; company comparable analysis is used for the valuation with sensitivity analysis to gas price in the growth projection. Value of the synergy is obtained by value of the combined firm (with synergy) minus the value of the combined firm (with no synergy). Our conclusion is the acquisition will generate a synergy of 1.03 Billion USD and the value of Pertagas is between 1.16 – 1.23 Billion USD without the synergy effect.","PeriodicalId":285535,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 12th International Conference on Business and Management Research (ICBMR 2018)","volume":"40 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115379557","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
