The article deals with mechanisms of applying metonymic transferring in the English veterinary medicine terminology. Terminological units of the English terminological field “animal diseases” which appeared as a result of metonymy were analyzed; the most productive models of metonymic transpositions that are relevant for their systematization and standardization were elaborated. It was found out that metonymic terms were created according to general linguistic and terminological models. Nevertheless we established the specific models of metonymisation relevant only for terminological field “animal diseases”, namely: “name of diseased organ – name of disease”, “name of situation at which a disease appeared – name of disease”, “etiology – name of disease”, “disease agent – name of disease”, “process – diseased state” The purpose of research is to characterize mechanisms of metonymic transpositions in the field of the English veterinary medicine terminology through the example of animal diseases nominations. Results peculiarity of nomination through metonymic transferring lies in the that it characterizes a object Metonymy allows using of a given another. Metonymy genesis; Studying metonymic transpositions in the English veterinary medicine terminology allows structuring terms, motivated by the metonymy, differentiate metonymic nomination models, and also finding specific peculiarities of new concepts nomination in veterinary medicine. Nevertheless metonymic reinterpretation comparing to metaphoric one is less widespread form of semantic transferring, including veterinary terms.","PeriodicalId":283763,"journal":{"name":"Mìžnarodnij fìlologìčnij časopis","volume":"80 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133646368","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with the ways of English publicistic metaphoric neologisms translation into Ukrainian. The neological metaphor is considered as a means of language vocabulary replenishing as a result of semantic process in which the name is transferred from one referent to another based on their associative similarity. In terms of translation, neo-metaphor is a new linguistic-cognitive tool in one language that requires structurally-semantic and functionally-communicative equivalent in another language. The material of this study is metaphoric neologisms, selected by sampling from the texts of English press, namely, newspapers, journals and Internet sources «The Economist», «The Atlantic», «BBC News», «The national geographic», «The Guardian», «The Financial Times», «The Washington Post». Having studied a large number of works of both national and foreign linguists, we have concluded that the vocabulary of the newspaper text requires a special analysis, which is important not only on the basis of separate words and sentences study, but on the level of its understanding, so that the reader can follow cognitive perception of the whole text.","PeriodicalId":283763,"journal":{"name":"Mìžnarodnij fìlologìčnij časopis","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129878335","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article deals with the regional interim results of an all-Ukrainian experiment on \"Multilingualism in Children and Students: Progressive European Ideas in the Ukrainian context\", which is conducted on the basis of general secondary and pre-school education institutions of Odessa, Chernivtsi, Transcarpathia and Zaporizhia regions under the guidance of Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine alongside with the Office of the OSCE High The practical result of the project should be the creation of a new organizational-educational model of a multi-language educational institution as a new educational paradigm, as well as the development of the concept of multilingual education in Ukraine. The article also gives a short insight into the introduction of multilingual education in Europe and worldwide, as well as Ukraine's experience in this field. The main part of the article is devoted to reviewing the interim results of the implementation of bilingual education in 4 Transcarpathian educational institutions with different languages of study, each of which independently chose language goals and tested its own model of multilingual learning. For example, specialized school № 4 with advanced study of the Slovak language of Uzhhorod City Council and pre-school educational institution № 42 of Uzhhorod city council have already five-year experience of participation in the experiment. They have chosen the so-called transitional model of bilingual education. The aim is to reach academic bilingualism at the end of the program. The other two educational institutions (Vynohradiv Secondary School No. 3, named after Zygmond Péren of the Vynohradiv District Council (with the Hungarian language of teaching) and Bilotserkivska Secondary School of the Rakhiv District Council (with the Romanian language of teaching) have participated in the experiment for two years and practice the so-called additive model of bilingual education, but in somewhat different quantitative and linguistic proportions.","PeriodicalId":283763,"journal":{"name":"Mìžnarodnij fìlologìčnij časopis","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-12-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129373775","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Special attention is paid to the theory of intonation. The work highlights the importance of an illocutionary act by which the definite communicative intention is meant and studies the illocutionary function of intonation, which is the marker of the illocutionary act. The pragmatic function of intonation is viewed as one of the main functions of the linguistic system. The intonational division of the text into syntagms is one of the main ways of expressing the pragmatic function of intonation in oral texts. It does not only create discretion that is necessary for understanding of the text content, but also integrates the segmented units that form the content of the text as a whole. The obtained results may contribute to further study of the prosodic organization of oral informational texts, particularly TV commercials, their influence on the addressee and peculiarities of their perception.","PeriodicalId":283763,"journal":{"name":"Mìžnarodnij fìlologìčnij časopis","volume":"148 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124355489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
